Currently packing up my drums for this evenings concert at the Redondo Beach Pier. My band "Dark Desert Highway" is a fantastic Eagles Tribute band. We're playing tonight from 6pm to 8pm at the end of the pier. It's free, bring your beach chairs and coolers. It's gonna be a great time watching the sun set on the coast and listening to your favorite Eagles tunes.

And Tomorrow night 8/23/2024 we are playing in Santa Clarita at the Smokehouse on Main.. From 8pm to 11pm.. Hope some SCV peeps can make it.

On the way to Havasu. Figured I’d stop by for a Cold Beer and Cheeseburger on the way. The place isn’t too bad. Go to the Scottsdale location every once and awhile.

Good morning from BHC

Mid 80’s 23 foot SilverWing.
525 blown Chevrolet.
Casale vdrive with a turbo 400.
Installation wise it came to me with the vdrive and engine installed along with propshaft rudder and plates installed.
I’ve had to build and mount everything else including steering, all of the helm, battery boxes had to be custom made, all electrical, fuel system, waterlines and exhaust, oil cooler, etc.
The tricky part of this cruiser is everything has to be contained between the stringers.
It’s been a challenge but fun.

Buddy just closed escrow on 162 acres up the canyon in Cen cal so we took a little cruise and hike around it . There’s a couple pretty cool boats left to die there and was thinking this one could be some sort of yard/ bar art project-

I got so frustrated I quit several times but ended up getting better. Most shops around here don’t want small jobs and you end up doing it yourself or leaving it with them until they feel like doing it. My problem was feeding the filler rod at a steady pace. Still struggle with it.

The only way to learn it is to do it. Keep doing it and you’ll get better.

I'm self taught, in the beginning I was so hung up on how it looked, when I started focusing on quality the looks part caught up later.
I used to say to people it may look like shit but I guarantee you it's not coming apart and that is what matters most.

I use to stick weld back in the 90's and was pretty good the hardest part for me was setting the heat after that all down hill after that. 2018,2011(I think those numbers are right)was my main stick. Stainless steel was a whole different animal much respect for guys that could!
Never tried wire feed welders I'm sure things have come a long way since 93.
