Scarab? Turning it into a CC?

Old scarab 400 with wet transom and back half stringers. Just poking around for now but would like to do an old school flat deck and cockpit similar to the lines you’d see on a sutphen or Apache.

Damn!! That would be a grip
Of work to build a whole new deck. I do love me a KV flat deck scarab though.

I’d think with
The deck off and needing a new transom converting to CC would be the ticket. But I’ll
Be interested to see what you do!!

I think I can get a deck layed up from a mould. Just thinking at the moment, not seriously committed yet.
We did a diesel fishing CC a few years ago.

Yeah! That things kick ass!!!

May be worth a call to Larry smith see if he can send you a KV / flat deck from his stuff. Then again you’re in Florida. You could go to pantera or Apache or any of those old school shops and they’ll mock one up easy peasy.

This old ski locker has seen better days...putting a bandaid on it to finish the season, then I'll build a new one. I'll build it cutting board style for sure.

We trailer the bikes to Cortez CO and make a big loop out of Telluride, Ouray, Gunnison, Crested Butte and Lake City then back to Cortez.. We take little bikes on this ride, some good their big bikes.

Awesome! We're headin down to Cortez on the bikes the week after Labor day for 3-4 days. swing back through Naturita, Gateway, then meander to Gunnison, Lake City, Creede then head home.

Ran up to Ventura out and about. Took my kid and his friends running since he worked so hard on polishing motors yesterday. Also my nephew is up from San Diego (marine) and has never run on a boat like this. He was sold.

Took my 80 year old neighbor out who’s an old gear head hot rod Harley guy and has been dropping strong hints he would like to go for a ride. So had him come down to the dock this afternoon. It was bumpy out for sure. 2’ swell, 11plus mph wind kicking up wind chop and white caps. Sun was shinning and We ran pretty hard, Airing that fucker out!!

Good day. All flushes shined up and tucked away.

Make sure you stop at The Depot in Dolores for one of the best burgers in Colorado...

Just gotta know how to clean it good and we always use salt away. I’ve run all our boats majority in the ocean. No issues. Don’t get people scared to run in the ocean. These things were made for it. 😁👍

Bobcat trims the finches and deer trim the lemon tree so Ive got that going for me..

View attachment 1418651 View attachment 1418652 View attachment 1418653
My cam catches our local bobcat walking out of the grove with an occasional bunny, or pouncing then toying with some rat on the front lawn/ Find dove feather piles in the grove, so he's getting an occasional mourning dove as well.
I wish the two bucks who show up ever week or so would stick to eating lemon or orange tree tips instead of my wife's favorite rose bushes.

It's pretty rare for us to see either the bobcats or deer during the day, mostly pre-dawn early am hours.
