Once upon a time,long ago, the channel was the chill mellow place for families to go.

Yeah things got a little out of hand on holiday weekends regular weekends weren’t that bad. Unfortunately the powers that be decided they needed to close down the sandbar and bring the debauchery and asininity to the channel so they could better control it. LOL

I think I'm glad I live where I do,and can easily avoid such a shit show. 105 outside now and the water is 65* ,have only seen one boat today on our 20 mile stretch of water.
I think if I had alter my day or habits so others could act a fool I'd just sell my shit or wind up in jail. A couple guys with nightsticks walking the beach/ channel could dissuade them in a hurry.

Never was shot by a water gun in the channel. I just tipped my flat bill and showed my black socks and I was free to pass.

I got hit in the head a few weeks ago, really pissed me off, it was some fat raider fan that didnt own nor will ever accomplish the means to own his own boat. I went off on him and he is response was, "what the fuck, its a boat".

My opinion is that most of the dickbags doing this dont own boats and are there with non-boaters, ie, the rental barge customers seems to be the main source of the problem. If Im going to beach the boat and hang out in the channel its on the north side of the bridge, there are no rental barges there and its a completely different vibe. If I need to go to the south side of the bridge it will be after labor day when the best boating of the year starts.

I like white sand beach too, but in the hot summer afternoons, nothing beats the shade on the south side of the channel.

Doesn't surprise me that you got shot by a fat ass Raider fan, that culture seems to have no respect for anyone or anything.

Water balloons. Partially filled (before adding water) with coyote piss (Home Depot) Used as a deer deterent. Throw "inside" their boat They'll learn the hard way.
Never smelled it ? Crazy strong pugent odor. Ammonia X 10. Non toxic. Dont hurt anybody, like skunk. Just waay stronger. Enjoy the rest of your day boating folks......

That's an interesting take. I'm not saying it's right or wrong but it seems very plausible.

I'm far from Mister perfect but I do have respect for others. People live in a me only world and no matter what you say, they can't relate to even the most common courtesy. If any action is taken towards them in retaliation, they instantly become a victim. Until there are enforced consequences for bad behavior nothing will change. We talk about this all the time on this forum. No wake zones, docking, launch ramps and the list goes on. The change will come when we get rid of the liberal approach to running public lands and parks.
