A couple weeks ago I'm cruising my little houseboat through the channel and they aim for my window and soak my dash and all my electronics.

I'm going to get one of these child toys, suck up the contents of my shitter and get some payback.

The channel is so lame!

When we turned into the Moab channel yesterday and saw all the boats already fully lining the channel in the morning - the first thing my wife said to me was - don't make a scene if we get hit by a canon...

On the last trip we had a scene...

Thankfully nobody was shooting when we came through.

Then we cruise back down the the channel in Havasu and there were a couple of group of douschbags absolutely drowning people with cannons - the look on a boat full of older people that were minding there own business and got absolutely soaked was very sad - they never saw it coming and 3-4 jerks just kept hammering them while they idled by and laughed their asses off at how wet they got the people the interior, everything.

I'm so glad I was on the other side of the channel and they couldn't reach us.

Man I get pissed when that happens to me.

They get away with it by acting like ...oh we are just having fun in the water and it’s all in fun .... but it is the boat owners friends and it seems more of a challenge that they know you can’t do anything about ... what you gonna do ? Jump off and leave your boat ... they got ya ... so you gotta act like it doesn’t bother you , otherwise they win ... they’re trying to piss you off ... I’m more worried about a direct hit on my speakers ... yeah ... it’s non boat owners challenging us.

From the Havasu City Convention and Visitors Website:

Firing/shooting water or other liquid out of a water cannon from the shore of the channel at a driver or passengers of a boat, or from a boat toward people standing on the shore in the channel, is illegal and is a criminal misdemeanor. A water cannon means any device capable of emitting or discharging a stream of water or liquid substance over a distance of 10 feet.

It’s also posted on the “welcome” signs in the channel.

I have noticed that the last few Sundays the Channel has been completely packed like a Saturday on a Holiday weekend. Two weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon we cruise through the Channel and I get sprayed by a Cannon so I say to the crowd "Hey now you can come over to my house and clean my BOTE" the entire group 6-8 including the WT parents started MFng me with my wife and kids on board......nice.
Sunday morning we're up in the Gorge there's a PWC pulling a Tube and a Pontoon pulling a Tube huh  is it open to skiing now and I didn't get the memo.
On monday afternoon we're floating just inside Thompson Bay rolling up after tubing a guy flys by (leaving TB) on a PWC, I yell at him to remind him it's a "No Wake Zone" and he quickly replies with the Bird.
Sunday to Wednesday we saw a rental pontoon on plane under the bridge that had 15+ no habla's on board along with some PWC's cruising through on plane almost daily with no PoPo in site. It's pretty obvious that All the rental co's don't give a f**k about informing their clients about rule a regs.
I guess the PoPo is just out on the lake Thursday to Saturday for the $$ huh o_O

Non boat people dont understand for sure! I got on to the kids for splashing water on the side of the boat a couple weeks ago and i heard someone on shore in the swim area making fun of me for telling the kids to not splash the boat.
Non boat people dont understand about getting the inside of the boat wet either.

Even some of my boat friends don't get this. They give me shit because I have my kids dry off some before they get into the cockpit. I usually just ask them how they feel about mold.

I would always try to look ahead and watch for it, then direct the boat further out of their way. Maybe the guns are more powerful now?

If you squirt back, THEN the cops will be there to see it.

I once had a woman and her kids soak down my dash and stereo in the channel with a water cannon, they even high fived afterwards. They could've easily aimed for my kids in the back of the boat but they were more interested in causing damage to my boat. I've also had kids throw rocks at my boat.

The biggest problem is they fill these things up in the shallow water, all stirred up. They basically are shooting sand water. Now go wipe your boat down. Second, take that in the eyes. Not cool! As for the kids sleeping on the boat, my kids took there best naps on the boat.

Yep.

No ability to pay in shitheads spraying down boats.

Far more liquidity in safety inspections.

Brian
It's not just the shit heads spraying water cannons, it's all the other crap that goes on like boats and PWC's on plane in no wake zones, people riding on bows of boats with feet hanging over the front, pulling tubes in no ski zone....fuck .....even saw kids hanging legs off the back of the swimstep of a prop boat, WHILE IN MOTION. So much irresponsible shit is going on all day while these guys are just sitting around doing their "saftey inspections".......and god forbid you try to tell these people that what they are doing is dangerous and illegal, they just want to fight you.

The safety inspections are for more lucrative than pissant $100 tickets in the channel.

It's illegal and fucking BS. It's not their property. God help the person that ever squirts me......and I pray that it doesn't hit a sleeping kid and wake them up because my wife is nuttier than I am..

Well said Joe! Having the same crap at Mead. Last trip out some DB on Seadoo is doing donuts in the no wake zone 20 ft from our boat. I calmly said hey bud this is a no wake zone. Asshat proceeded to flip me off and tell me to go fuck myself.

Love People!

We have a big problem over here on Oneida with the water balloon sling shots. Even made the local news. The litter is one thing, but not to many if any boats like sucking up broken balloons.

Hangin in the channel all day ain't boating.... I'd rather be running the upper river and avoid all that urine concentrated freak show mess
That's why I don't boat on Oneida anymore. Sad thing, it happens in every state, and on most bodies of water where the shit shows set up. Sad thing is, a lot of boaters need attention , wanna show of there hardware, but they are the first to complain. I feel for them, but my thinking is, don't go to the shit shows. Put a few more gallons of fuel in your boat and run it somewhere else. That's why they call it boating and not mooring.

Gotta Say! ... The boat people I know take a hose and wash the inside of the boat as well as out!
But even this flat water here at Havasu!... I make sure water comes over the front, back, and sides before the day is done! ... If a boat can't get wet!-- what good is it??

Fuck! :D Now you got me wondering if I'm Boat People or Not! o_Oo_Oo_O :smackHead:
I have tamed down a lot while we are beached with other boats at 3 Dunes and other spots.......just too much to keep up with between my kids and neighbor boats. Kids are going to be kids and its inevitable that the boat gets wet. I let them go to town and then wipe off right as we are ready to leave. The best is those mid week days where we find a beach to ourselves and they can play away from the boat all day.

I get on the kids a lot when they splash other people's boats but if you pull up to 3 Dunes on a Saturday when it's all packed in and expect your ride to stay spotless, then maybe you should find another beach and this is coming from an OCD nutcase.

I'm probably going to regret this but I'll ask.......you don't want water splashed on the side of your boat? You don't want the inside wet either? So if I'm swimming, I have to dry off to get in your boat?
I really hope you're kidding.
Ok, i guess i might have come off wrong. I know kids are gonna splash and gave fun, Its the unnecessary spashing water that gets over a large part of the boat, like over the rub rail, and here locally, its often kinda muddy water. And we have a decent amount of freeboard, so they are getting pretty wild to get water splashed up high enough to where ill say something.
To the inside of the boat comments, i dont mind wet people getting in and out, its rain and such. We have a mid cabin that is full carpet and the bow is carpet. The mid doesn't drain if it gets water in it. We got caught in a heavy downpour one day towing home and there was a couple inches of water in the mid cabin i had to shopvac out and it took a week to get it all dried out. Give me crap if you want, but when u spend hours trying to get the inside of a cabin dried out, you'll understand! Do you want a couple inches of water in your truck? Same deal here!
It was a big enough pain to me, that i had snapon and tow covers made so i dont have to worry about rain anymore!
Now cockpit back, it is gel and drains into the bilge, so I'm not as worried about water there.

I knew it wasn't just me about water in the boat!
A little bit in the fiberglass part of the cockpit is fine, its the carpeted areas that i hate moisture on.

I'm the same way and don't mean to get off topic. My kids and guests went from the ladder to the swim platform to the hatch that was covered in towels to use. If God forbid a little left over dripping occurred in the cockpit, oh well. I kinda wipe up as we go. But you are not going from the water to my cabin soaking wet to grab a towel. I bring more towels than cans of beer.

It is about the 35 year old blasting water at people in the boat. Right in front of me water spray knocked her sun glasses right of her face. Not good.

That was my point about sand in the water. Anyways, I'm going boating. One final comment. If you like carpet in your boat, then you better have snap in's. Anything else carpet wise, makes no sense to me. Good talk today boys, be safe. Ontario is glass today, running to Toronto for the last time in the 388. Both kids are home for the run, as you all know, it's sold and this will be our last family gathering on it.

we use to use super soakers. I have no idea what water cannons are?
cant comment on those.
back in the day nobody cared. now everything is a problem.
how in the fuck does anyone enjoy themselves boating ?

we ski and board like crazy. life jackets, people getting in out of water, let alone my lab jumping in water, shaking all over my interior and speakers.
its just part of the boating life.
now bring fucking sunflower seeds or hot Cheetos. I'm throwing you overboard.:p

Meanwhile, if those balls are somehow still frozen, the funny paint ball gun now becomes a deadly weapon. Might as well have used a real gun.

Lol, frozen balls.......in 115* weather:D:p:D
You'll need to adjust that N.E. thinking if you move out here.;)

Put them in a cooler, and they shoot straighter. We use the frozen balls for bear repellant here.

Yeah but that was back in the day when people had a little more common sense. It used to be an accident when someone’s open engine compartment got hosed down, now you have assholes aiming for your injector hat.

back in the day our boats were only worth 5/10 k. shit mine still are. maybe that's why?

I'm headed to the delta in a few hours. for 5 days of skiing and boarding. I might see 10 different boats, besides the ones in our group, the entire time. Truth. we will spend five hours out skiing and not one boat.
IMG_0285.JPG

now that's my type of boating. I don't need to be seen , and wont go places, or at times, where it looks, like I never left home.

Yeah. I think this is the way to go. We have 2 water cannons under the back seat and I can easily fit one in the compartment under the side of my helm. Just keep it filled with bleach and if it ever happens to me (and it's not a young kid), stop the boat, pull it out and Bam!! Even thought of mounting a paintball gun under the helm as well. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes is how I roll.

Now...... squid ink is used in some Italian cooking, find a vendor , it would make a mark!

FYI ; never use bleach as it is a caustic chemical and can be a felony, keep it simple.

Do you even have kids? Fucking retarded as question.

Sorry to offend many of you. I did not realize that taking sleeping children to the loudest and wildest area of Lake Havasu was such a common thing to do. I always thought that taking sleeping children to a quiet beach seemed more logical. I guess I have it wrong. I now know that it’s better to take them to an area where their sleep can be disturbed by a wakeboard boat with 24 speakers or a super soaker to the face.

Thanks
