Sorry to offend many of you. I did not realize that taking sleeping children to the loudest and wildest area of Lake Havasu was such a common thing to do. I always thought that taking sleeping children to a quiet beach seemed more logical. I guess I have it wrong. I now know that it’s better to take them to an area where their sleep can be disturbed by a wakeboard boat with 24 speakers or a super soaker to the face.

Thanks

First of all. Do you have kids???
And its legal to have 24 speakers on your boat .......

I have neither, so dont ask .... [emoji202] [emoji6]

Some of us aren't so lucky. ;)

back in the day our boats were only worth 5/10 k. shit mine still are. maybe that's why?

I'm headed to the delta in a few hours. for 5 days of skiing and boarding. I might see 10 different boats, besides the ones in our group, the entire time. Truth. we will spend five hours out skiing and not one boat. View attachment 668222
now that's my type of boating. I don't need to be seen , and wont go places, or at times, where it looks, like I never left home.

this year, I made commitment to myself and family . that I have to take a few days off every month. I just close up and take off during the week.
august we have a few trips planned, delta 7/30--8/4 , parker echo 8/13--8/15 solo run for me. with one of the hot rods. wife stays home, to hot for her.
I usually stay away from parker middle of june to end of july.
the shit show is gone by then.
see you at end of week. I'm out, of here.

So you mean jet boat?

Edit : BB500r’s post disappeared.

It sounded like he was requesting having a jetboat under the engine cover.

Not sure what happened to my post? Was trying to edit it - I wanted to throw a pressure washer under the hatch....fire that bitch up and retaliate on the next level! Would need to be close though or get a different nozzle. But not too close.....don’t want to peel skin lol

It's not a thing of heading to the channel with sleeping kids, it's about the fact that 9 out of 10 kids under 6-7 fall asleep on the way to the channel, most wake up on their own shortly after getting moored up there, but regardless there truly is nothing ok with the actions of these douche bags, whom as said before very few have a pot to piss in nor understand its not only disrespectful but illegal. How you feel if on your way to the mailbox some jack wagon sprayed you with a squirt gun, or while walking while its raining and someone intentionally swerves deeper into that puddle next to you? I mean shit its raining already so your already getting wet right??????

switch targets ! Ok ... we know the shooters are friends of the boat owner ... so they hang out at the back of their friends boat and shoot boaters going by ... our typical response would be to shoot back at the “shooter” ... No! Wrong target ... shoot back to the inside of their boat ... how quickly the boat owner would freak and tell his friend to stop ? It sure would be cool to try it though !!

Good morning,

I think you may be missing the point. I never stood up for the water guns.

My question was why subject your sleeping child to that?

I’m not going to take my tired kids to the channel where they can be awoken by loud music or a being sprayed with water (Oldschoolboat’s complainant).

It is my opinion that if you take your child to the channel and they’re awoken by a water canon shot to the face, it’s your fault, not the person with the water canon. I’m not saying the person spraying boats is in the right, but at some point we all need to take a little personal responsibility and avoid situations like this.

The channel is full of idiots, this is nothing new.

Have a great week.

How about a wrist rocket and some ice cubes. Everyone has plenty of ammo...:D
Only if the cubes came from a quality cooler, if said cube war took place at 4pm those with low quality coolers would be out of ammo

That is a bold statement from a person who takes his sleeping toddlers to the channel for a nap.

Have a good day.

It's a nape......

You should be able to navigate in U.S. waters without a care of your children being subjected to actions of the small minded individuals.

It appears that ole WW is off his meds  he must been hanging out with GRAD's

We should be able to do a lot of things, but that's just not the way life works out sometimes. Call it unfair or an injustice if you will or call yourself a victim if you need to.

If you ever get tired of the carnival in the channel, there's a lot of quiet calm and sandy beaches where the kids can safely nap, run around and build sandcastles. Maybe I'll see ya there sometime.

Have a good one!

So you spend the day on a beach with the kids like you mention........then when you have to go thru the channel to get to your slip at London Bridge, or your staying at queens bay, or the Heat, or Kingsview condos, or maybe you are getting dinner at one of the restaurants. Maybe you want the kids to go under the London bridge.

Just conceed to getting blasted in the face and take it?

Everyone knows its loud in the channel, there are nipples, there are drunks...etc. I don't think people should expect to have their property damaged or sunglasses blasted off while driving thru the center of it.

When I was running with a good friend and his wake boat there was a discussion while waiting for the bags to fill and empty (yes we did that before traveling) about going to a pump on the engine. Set it up with a ac style clutch. Our guess was that you would be able to fill or empty all three tanks in under 30 seconds. I think there was a discussion over adding a sprayer for "educating" the special kind of stupid. We never did it but thought it would be a fun project. Just think about it, returning fire with about a 3/4" stream at about 150psi.......

I keep seeing mention of "water cannon" but i have no clue what this is. I dont really venture down to Havasu on busy times (weekends / holidays). Are we talking about just some squirt guns here?

You could always load up an old school waterballon launcher with some fat oranges, I got a feeling the water spray would stop after a few of those flew by.

Hi,

There’s a lot of other launch ramps and area of the river/lake to enjoy. If you choose to hang out in the most “out of control” section on the river/lake, then you’re subject to idiotic behavior.

I don’t know about you guys, but I go to the river to relax and avoid idiots who spray my boat with water guns or toss Nerf balls at it in the channel.

You can all go hang out where you want to. I was only curious why a parent would want to take sleepy todlers to the channel; I’ve read several justifications from many of you. Thanks.

Have a nice day.

Age old question, Why spend $200,000.00 on a boat and always park in the channel?

Have a great week.

So 4pm Sunday when my daughter got hit in the face, is now my fault.
Total BS comment. IMO it is the parents of the kids using the cannon or the adults using them that are in the wrong. You never see them spraying themselves, but taking target practice and that shows lack of respect and lack of parenting!
If I avoided all places that could cause harm to my kid, my bubble house would be very boring!

Certainly interesting view about personal responsibility. Just so I follow the logic......

If I go to Chicago for business and get shot by a gangbanger between the airport and the city it is my fault. After all, Chicago has a very high gun usage rate, being shot there is nothing new?

I’m sorry, i won’t go to the name calling however I’d like to! So i am supposed to not go to a place we like because people find it ok to break the law? They can attempt to destroy my property and hurt my kids because well in your eyes as a respectable adult i always try to be i knew better than to go to a section of water that’s known to have douche bags hang out? Here’s my big thing so far I’ve only had one person ever spray my boat, a little ok made him stop, but now it sounds as though these guys are just acting thug and do not care so their bad actions should prevent me from going to meet up with friends or take a cruise under the bridge etc?

I’m hoping you are truly just fighting the show in your mouth out of the fact you already had made your comment and not because you truly believe this way!! If you truly believe this way, well may god have pity on your soul

A man named Dave regularly visits a campground where campfires are prohibited, but not regularly enforced by law.

Dave willing approaches the illegally lit fire then sticks his hand in the fire for 5 seconds. Dave’s hand suffers from burns. What or who is at fault?

A) The fire because it is too hot.

B) The government for not patrolling the area and citing visitors for lighting fires.

C) Dave.

D) There is not enough information in the question to conclude an answer.

The answer is:

E) Go to Dave's parents home and slap the shit out of them for raising an idiot.

I'm going with F) Kick the guy square in the nuts who thinks it's ok for people to attack others and damage their private property uninvited.

Your scenario is ludicrous, people are not going up to these dickweeds and ASKING to be soaked or their electronics to be ruined, they are being attacked.

I made a slight edit to your question to make it a little more realistic to the situation..... :(

Willy Wonka meant:

A man named Dave regularly visits a campground where campfires are prohibited, but not regularly enforced by law.

Dave while walking through the campground, has burning wood thrown at him by the individual who started a fire. Dave’s hand suffers from burns while knocking down the burning wood that was about to strike Dave's child in the head and light Dave's child on fire. What or who is at fault?

A) The fire because it is too hot.

B) The government for not patrolling the area and citing visitors for lighting people on fire.

Well now........this has happened to me before. I didn't just look at the parents, I told the kid "EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME.......NO, WE DON'T THROW MUD AT BOATS." Parents heard it and didn't just shrug their shoulders, they came over, apologized and took the kid to the other side of their boat, away from mine.

So when the water cannon ends up on the "quiet sandy beach".....
Do you just move and let them take that over too?
With that mentality you'll run out of beaches.

Come to Havasu, home of the london bridge. But dont take your boat under it, dont visit any of the hotels or restaraunts near it....because some asshole is spraying sandy water in peoples eyes and we're just gonna let him do it, and let him control the show.

That's funny. I had to have a talk with my 5 year old son and his friend Saturday about throwing mud onto the side of my boat. Instead they threw mud on each other.

To be fair I don't think WW is proposing that the douche bags be allowed to control the channel, just that if you take your family to a place knowing this type of behavior goes on there then you are partially responsible for what happens.

I can't agree or disagree with his view. Personally I avoid areas with this type of behavior going on but I also realize that this is not possible for everyone. If I had no choice I would not retaliate or get into an argument/fight with the douches. However, I would call the police, report what is going on and that a fight is starting and I think I saw a gun. Response would be almost instantaneous. Bottom line, don't let them ruin your day.
