Hey Californians! We need some cash to fix your roads! I know we've already added fee's to vehicle registration and as to cover road repairs and infastructure, but we've robbed that money for other things so we're just gonna ask for the following:

-$175 added to your yearly vehicle registration
-.12 cents per gallon added to gasoline
-.20 cents per gallon added to diesel

.....But wait, there's more!

Drive an electric car? Thanks for doing that - but fuck you too! Were gonna add an additional $100 to your registration (on top of that $175 we're adding already) since we cant get gas tax out of you.

The projected $ 5.2 Billion to be generated annually sure comes close to covering the out of control bullet train project.....

Happy Friday everyone

5.2 billion to be squandered by our POS politicians. Not a single trail, road, highway, toll way, bi way, or any other way will be touched by this money.

Wife has a bakery as a side business. Delivery rates just went up $5 today as I just updated the price list. On customer invoices I added the footnote; increase is due to new gas and vehicle registration costs.
Living in CA is costing more each day. 2.3 years until middle son is out of HS, then I am out. I will vacation in CA only but live somewhere else.

Stealing this and posting on FB.

We are looking at houses in Havasu right now. I got 1.75 feet out the door. Fuck this state, the money will probably be used on the illegals since we are about to be the first sanctuary state in the nation too......FML.

I have this list going in my mind about the pros and cons of living in CA. Something seems to get added to the cons list every month or so. I dont remember the last time that something got added to the pros side.

At some point, the imbalance will be enough for me to leave. I wonder when that will be....

Anytime I think about going back to California, I just remember you have to be a millionaire to be middle class there because the politicians rob you and give your money to scumbags and ne'er-do-wells.

God dammit. I love California. I love the food, the weather, the stuff to do, the diversity, the hot women.... But it's getting so damn expensive. I never thought I'd say this, but my con list is growing as well. Getting ass raped is getting old.

They already spent it on food, clothes, housing, iPhones and the like for all of your illegal aliens.

I'm not saying anything but clarification here. This state fucking sucks.

the Vehicle License Fee Law with a varying fee between $25 and $175 based on vehicle value and with an inflation adjustment, as provided, and a new $100 annual vehicle registration fee applicable only to zero-emission vehicles model year 2020 and later, with an inflation adjustment, as provided.

Just so peeps know it's not just a $175 flat additional fee for most that's just the max. Still fucking sucks. Oh and electric car thing go pound sand, the $100 is cheap considering that you don't pay the same in road taxes like a gas vehicle, but you still get to use the roads. This I knew was coming.

Funny.................I was just having a conversation with a friend here in Havasu who like me grew up and spent a good part of his adult life in Havasu and the subject of moving back to CA came up.

He had the best line I've heard in a long time, he said.............."Only way they'll get me back in CA is either in a box or in handcuffs"...............after 5 full time years here I know exactly how he feels!!

Don't fool yourselves, this is all about money for pensions, just like all the "it's all about the children" tax increases.

It's nation wide unfortunately and won't stop until their ponzi pension's collapse. The next stock market collapse should do it!!! :thumbsup

Obama destroyed them and savers with his zero interest tard policy. You can bet your ass that inflation will be a part of the "pension" fix too. :thumbsdown

I have new Homes aviable in Havasu ;) all configurations, 3 & 4 car plus, to 3 car with tripple RV's LOL

just the reqistration, insurance and fuel cost could make a big dent in that mortgage
I would think for some people it would actually pay to rent a place or just a mailbox and seek residency in Arizona

I think the cut date is 7yrs old but registration goes to $19.95 a year, insurance is definetly cheaper and GAS wholly crap it's alot cheaper, I had to go to Azusa last week filled up at $2.19 in Havasu, 4hrs later $3.05 in Taxifornia, so that means gas should be $3.17 or more today...BITE ME!!!!

having lived, being born and raised in SoCal, I can honestly say the best thing I have ever done in my life was to leave Taxifornia

Add to this the prevailing wage addition to construction in the state. Estimates are that it will raise home prices by around $90K per home. Then you have the $15 minimum wage coming in.

Idiot politicians don't think at all.
I was about to pull the trigger on a brand new super C RV (Jayco Seneca). Called this morning and told the dealership, due to SB1 passing I have decided to postpone my purchase.
Also my wife's SUV's lease is up. New one cost over 70k ($175 max increase in registration). Told her today we are buying out the lease and no new car.
Overreaction maybe, but I hate how this state keeps taking money thinking those successful folks can pay for everything.

This is what happens when you have a bunch of people that can't read or speak English but can vote. Yeah I know you can get ballots in different languages but fuck that. If you can't understand English, you shouldn't be allowed to vote in my opinion.

That is true but this was voted on by the legislature only this time.. not the sheeple.

The problem is no one votes, so you have a small percentage that controls the direction on the county or state and the idiot representatives keep getting reelected. In the LA county vote last month, less than 8% of the population in the county voted.

When I come back from Texas Outlaw in June I will get in my truck and drive straight here. I will be living in Havasu full time July 1. My wife will do the cali commute for a bit while we get the house settled and such. California sucks and the non-boaters that live there suck!

There was a big discussion that all of these taxes hurts the commuters and the poor the most. As of a couple days ago there were a couple Democrat representatives in highly populated districts that were not going to vote for it. They probably got bought with some extra funds for their pet projects.

20 cents is a huge blow to the transportation sector in diesel fuel. WOW. So ridiculous. Everything is gonna raise in price. Does this also mean jet fuel?

I was going to pull the trigger on a 2500 diesel soon but 20 percent more in diesel and likely 175 more a year, plus def, im thinking not.

You guys are delusional if you think this money is going to fix the roads , this money is going to pensions and salaries ! $.80 of every dollar the state takes in , in taxes , goes back out to pensions and salaries ...and guess
what ? it's not sustainable . I too , am done with this state , my business is for sale and I'm counting down the days . It is the corrupt , inept , incompetent govt and the sheer mass of people in this state that have me wanting to flee ...and I've been in So Cal since 1956 !

Correct. It will be pulled by some loophole.

The general fund has gone up $36 Billion in the last 8 years. There is plenty of money to find to fix the roads with the money the state has.

Get to work boys!

You've got public service retirements, illegals, and food stamps to pay for.

Never mind you already pay for what you are paying for again (road taxes) - get with it!

Combine this with the carbon tax you all voted for under some BS guise and bend over fellas!

Read the article, the 1 democrat up north finally voted after his district was awarded 500M for improvements, the 1 in riverside switched after getting 450M. They were no, until they got $$ and now are a yes and say this will be great for the state.

Biggest bitch, road improvement costs just went up since those contractors will be raising rates to cover the expenses they now have to cover.

Was the 4 percent on price if the vehicle? That part seemed vague.

Don't forget about props 1a and 42 either. Each time these gas taxes are imposed those amendments were supposed to force the legislator to only use those funds for transportation purposes. But somehow sacremento found a way around that!

There is no fucking way this 5 billion is used for roads.

It was actually a RINO up north. :thumbsdown

Ahead of a vote on legislation to raise taxes and fees to repair California's roads, state Senate leader Kevin de Le?n (D-Los Angeles) and Gov. Brown on Thursday supported a new bill that would provide $500 million for pet projects in the district of state Sen. Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres), including the extension of a Bay Area commuter rail line to Ceres and Merced.

All this anger makes my heart warm. :D
