Anyone remember Trinity from the old days when they were in Anaheim? Buddy of mine had a Banshee w/ 100% Alcohol setup. He used to do quite well against the likes of the snowmobile and Streetbike powerplants.

Wow,that was the first place I took my 90 Banshee to, when you could drive from IE to Anaheim in 45 min, still have the single carb stage 4 kit.

So many great memories ripping through Glamis on my Banshee. Never forget coming back from pair a dice 6th gear the whole way racing Blaise (RIP) and street shock Sean. Good old days.

Banshee
I had 250 fourtrax and a 250R 3 wheeler.

I went a few years after having those with a buddy on his Banshees to occotillo.
Nearly killed myself in the first 3 minutes. Hit whoops like normal and wholly fock. Then whiskey throttle....
Then regrouped to realize it would be a long day

Tossing up the idea of selling my first quad. My parents bought this for me when I was about 3 years old. It has been in the family ever sense. My boys learned on it but now are riding bigger quads. Everything is original except the gas tank. Let me know what price you are thinking and if it’s good enough, I might sell it.

Most y’all need to stick to boats. Leave the ATV conversations to the people with clues!

I guess I will be the odd man out, had honda three wheelers,a 250x and 350x in the early 80's, then in the 90's got a DS 650 Baja, then got another one when I was driving by a nieghbors house a few hundred yards from mine, older guy was pushing it to the curb w a for sale sign. I didnt need it but you know how that goes.

I know it was the heaviest thing out there at the time but it hauled my ass anywhere I wanted to go. I think the Kawasaki KFX 700 is the only thing heavier now.

True CR 500 conversions, not a 500 motor thrown in a 250

I never could afford a Banshee, but I found a clapped out Yamaha Warrior, and a ~84ish YZ490. The 490 motor got shoehorned into the Warrior frame. It was horrible to start because the kick starter would hit the fender. I believe I used a head pipe off a polaris scrambler 400. It was super fast, but handled like dog shit. The my buddy scored a 250R frame that we grafted some other plastics (we were broke high school kids) on and put the 490 motor into that and it was much better. I think its all still sitting in his grandpas shed somewhere...

Honestly though, I think the most out of control I have ever felt on a quad was on a built Bombardier DS650. It had a bunch of Ron Woods (? I think ?) parts on it, and hauled the mail. Those things are so heavy and wide you could feel insignificant in a hurry!

I just scored a Honda FL350 Odyssey a few months ago, in pretty good shape. I was looking for another pilot, but people are crazy with those prices. I will say, riding the odyssey for the first time made me giggle more than I have in ages.

Apparently there are a couple guys on here that actually DO know their quads.

Quadzilla all day long.

A stock banshee is lame. They get more fun to ride with Toomys and carb work, but I could still smoke one on a hill with my LT400 (mostly stock).

And yes they don't handle worth a fuck! Lol

You need a big fat wallet to make a Banshee a serious quad. And then a Quadzilla with a pipe will still smoke it.

😜

I still have my LT400 and LTZ450. Both still run great. 👍🏼

Yep had a Trinity built Zilla and I'm pretty sure it hauled the mail.. But then again we used to pack 10 beers into a little playmate. The cans would be rattled clean of what brand it was. Just polished aluminum.

man i miss my banshee... once dialed, these were scary fast. Had a buddy with a built 500 and would take it to the hill at night and hurt feelings. start in 3rd hit 4th-5th in the whoops and gone... of those bikes though.. a stock banshee dint sound mean enough to be scary.. the 500 was too bulky.. riding an 85-86 250 3 wheeler thru the dunes was the scariest of them all...

My desert ride was a CR500 with a paddle. Race bike was a KX250. I made the mistake of racing the 500 in open class though and ended up in the hospital. Hell of a bike...

I had a stage 2 Trinity engine with the 377 long rod deal.
It never pulled quite as hard as my buddies stage 3 engine but he had big carbs and I was sinking with the stockers and later to Khein 28s.

My buddy Paul the AC guy had a Stage4 Trinity LT500, it either kicked serious ass... or he was asking to borrow my truck to go to Indio to get parts.😂

Right in the middle of Covid I sold 2 exact 1986 models that had been in my family for 30+ years $. The ‘87 has a foot brake which was more desirable to collectors. Sold them both running in good condition for 1200 and 1300. I regret not keeping one, but my kids were done with them and onto bigger toys. My plan was to put a 140 cc electric start piranha motor in. I think $1000 would be good currently with a seat cover needed

I’m a big guy and kept getting smoked by my camping buddies going up Olds on the quad at Glamis. One Thanksgiving I’d had enough. Took my 660 Raptor to Trinity in Anaheim for a tune up. It came back bored and stroked with a new exhaust. Other than that it was stock looking. By New Years I had it back and just told my camp buddies that I put on a new pipe. It was pretty sweet smoking them up the hill and hearing all their excuses from bad start to not running right! Lol…

Just a heads up.. those are old v-force 2 reed cages. Those still had little screws holding the cage together. Very common for the screw to come out and destroy a cylinder. I'd upgrade to a V3 or V4 to eliminate the issue.. jmo
Copy that I will check on those thanks. I was wondering why I’ve never seen this style before. The new ones look so much better.
