Looks like a lanyard could have made that into a non event. Bummer.

Not sure if anyone was hurt, just so happened our friends were in a boat right next to him that saw it happen. Thankfully no one was launching where his boat stopped. That could have been real bad.

From the video, it looks like his throttle was having issues. He puts it in reverse, the boat takes off, then it looks like he slams it in forward throttle, looks like it stayed wide open.

It was either selling the video to tmz or distributing it to rdp. We chose rdp ;)

Holy shit......

I know accidents happen but I'm thinking operator error. Pull lanyard, turn key, kick into neutral......

Looks like his prosthetic arm fell off during the approach.

Departure, approach, wreck.. Hard to tell WTF was going on other than lack of knowledge.

When I was 16-17, I worked on a 68 Camaro belonging to a girl at school. 68's had solid linkage from the firewall to the carb. After rebuilding the carb and a tune-up I took it for a test drive. When I hammered it from a stop sign at a "T" intersection making a left, a broken motor mount reared its ugly head. The motor lifted and held the throttle wide open to my disbelief. I did one doughnut and realized I had two choices, push in the clutch or hit the key. At that young age I knew where the true disconnect existed and I hit the key so hard it almost twisted into two pieces.

The Dude in the vid panicked like a school girl and should sell the vessel until further examination of his skills are assessed and properly addressed.

That's why jet boats are great. Never have to worry about that problem.:p

Ouch, looks like he left the outdrive down and probably didn't connect the bow/winch. Still it would take a lot to pull a boat that size off the trailer.

Are some people seeing the boat was dragged back on to shore from the winch still being connected?
