In 20 plus years I have only had one spal fan fail. And I use a shit ton of them. I probably have 15-20 in stock of various sizes.
I'm usually too cheap to buy a drop-in radiator / fan / shroud assembly from one of the "baller" suppliers 🤣

Ive had good luck using OEM electric fans on my stuff. I measure the radiator core and look at fan options from latemodel V8 vehicles, till I find one that looks like it fits the bill. Dorman usually has cutsheets with all the measurements online. A little plastic shroud trimming and mounting, and boom - Quiet fans, OEM reliability.

Shop girls car showed up last night. She is a sweet peach she is. And the needle I made to show her what I am trying to accomplish. It came with a new roof, one quarter and a new floor pan as part of the package View attachment 1316898 View attachment 1316899 View attachment 1316900 View attachment 1316901 View attachment 1316902
Oh yeah baby... this'll be fun to follow. These were my VA country redneck buddies fav to soup up around mid 70s.... their daddies ran more of the late 60s Mopars but these Novas came alive after. Good choice for her.

So a buddy of mine has a hobby shop down the road. Well he is tired of paying over half the rent for a quarter of the space. So he hit me up if I could make room in the storage unit for his lift and box. He has a pretty bitchen pro street 52 Chevy pick up that is coming out of paint and needs a place to finish it. So we come up with a rent number and a plan to make some room. Moved all but four cars and five motorcycles and rearranged some lifts and other crap to make some room. Plus it was good to air up all the tires on everything. Pearl the green 57 got some new shoes for Christmas. Should be able to finish it up tomorrow and I think we made enough room for his truck and two more cars. I am done wore out.

So @Tank buddies truck is pretty much mocked up now. Got the rearend cut and welded yesterday. Slipped the axles in and mocked up the wheels and tires. Trimmed the bed and we have a pretty bad ass looking truck. Few more things then it all comes apart for Powdercoating and have the fire wall done.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM!!! That shit is coming together even better than I thought. I was on the fence on those rims but seeing them on, WOW. I'm a firm believer that wheels really make or break a build. Can take a bad ass car and make it look like shit and vice versa. That thing is looking fantastic! nice job.

This could be the antithesist of Fernando. I dig the look of those deeper rear wheels to shallow fronts. Gorgeous.

So since I sold a car it was only fitting to buy another one. Saw this on marketplace place and assumed it was a scam. Messaged the lady and back and forth a few times and went and looked at it on Sunday and made a deal. A 1964 Plymouth sport fury. With a 426 hemi under the hood. An old race car from back in the day. Her father in law has owned since he was 16. It has been sitting for a while now. He has had some health issues and that is how it came up for sale. 727 trans with a 5500 converter, 8-3/4 rear with the leaves moved in. It is tubbed I need to look it over a little more and see how much it will take to make it run. If I can make it run and move with out rebuilding everything I want to go take the old man for a ride in it. Make his day and he can die a happy man.

I haven’t had time to do anything with it yet. Maybe this weekend I can go through and see what ls they’re and how good or bad it is. It is a pretty bitchin time capsule. Mechanical tach. Old B&m shifter with a temp gauge built into the housing. Cragar super trick wheels. Has a roll bar that someone cut the front bars off of.

Nice Mopar. You prove (pretty regularly) that there is still neat stuff out there, and it seems persistence (and luck) pays off.
I really enjoy this thread and the cars you share for us to drool over. Thanks.

Just throwing this out there BOSS 429, just sayin!!!
Also don't forget the Ford 427 SOHC (Cammer)
Both badass pieces of machinery...and nothing sounds like a SOHC.

That said, been a fan of drag racing my whole life...hell, I liked fuel cars before I liked girls I think  So, even though there were so many Ford greats in the sport, a Kieth Black Hemi is still the epitome of the 1/4 mile. I'm a Ford dork. Had some pretty big inch 460's and stroker SBF's...and some flatheads😏
I don't care much for 440's and 318's, but the Hemi, I'd find a home for. Just recently ran across a Duster in the trailerhood...maybe I should come out of the closet as a Mopar guy🤣

A Hemi certainly looks bad ass but they are heavy and need frequent valvetrain maintenance and a knowledgeable owner to go fast.
But a 383 or better yet, a 400, with a 440 crank and 3 Holley 2 barrels will make close to 500 hp and run forever. I've owned many. 👍

My actual dream engine.
My grandpa used to race his old Glausti (sp?) flatbottom with a SOHC motor in it. Apparently the motor was a partnership deal with a friend cause Grandpa didn't want to buy it outright from him for a couple hundred $ back in the day (probably early to mid-70's). I wish he bought that instead of the L88. Just a cooler, and rarer engine.
