I am at 32-33 cars right now. serious issues. I am doing 3 different ones right now. The 69 chevelle. the Caddie and mullet the camaro. Mullet is almost done but the ref is being the ref and a royal pain in the ass. Everything is there, the monitors set, and he is giving me shit about the calibration numbers in the ecu. and the air intake which I kinda figured he would.

I walked into my back garage for the first time in a while the other day to grab something and looked at the Lightning and recall thinking for just a split moment, "oh I forgot I had that." lol

I hope to reach "forgot how many cars I own" status one day. I would prefer it be from a large collection of cars and not from old age but I'll take it either way.

So yesterday Shawn from Autotopia, yea the guy that was in the Comet when they wadded it up, came up to the shop with his crew. They wanted to shoot the Vega for a youtube video. No problem. Shawn ran into us a few times and knows that Sydnee has been driving the Vega lately and wanted to do the shoot with her. Well she doesn't know the back story and specs so I handled that part and let her take him out for a cruise in it. As he was belting himself in, I asked if he wanted a helmet. That got me a middle finger. Before that I took him for a cruise in the bus. He wants to shoot it but is afraid he will get throttled back at the politcally incorrectness of it. So yea I called him a pussy. He is actually a pretty good guy. The episode should be out next week and I will post a link.

That was the one I was referring to. He said they were actually not going to use this but said fuck it and did it anyway as an educational video. He said he has people thanking him and commenting they upgraded their safety gear as well because of it. So good on him for that.

You can definitely see that car is absolutely flawless. I would really like to see it in person. Would really like to hang out at his shop. He’s got skills.
Thank you for the compliment. The Galaxie got donated to the Peterson museum. It is in the vault from what I understand. Sucks but at least I can claim a car we built is in the Peterson.

Sucks that the car is stuck in a museum. Absolutely phenomenal that your skills afforded you and your shop a spot in that museum. Hat's off to you bro. Amazing attention to detail.

So roughly a month and a half from rolling shell to wired, plumbed and running. That is mornings and weekends. Need to bleed the clutch, install a throttle pedal and cable and nut bolt check it and it will roll out under its own power.

Buddy Gil just dropped his C class off with you I hear. Sounds like it’s gonna be a bad ass build. Wish he’d bag it though.

You mean this one
D9EB8131-10D1-4663-AA24-A44BA941B3EF.jpeg
it should be pretty bad ass. 3.0 whipple on a b15 Lsx crate engine. Ridetech coil over kit, 14” Wilwoods all the way around 345 rear tireon billet rally wheels. Leave him alone. He already changed his mind 3 times on the engine.

Factory A/C truck? Nothing like good old GM A-6 Frigidaire to perk up the nipples by blowing ice cubes out the vent!

Too bad no one uses them anymore, they mostly go to Sanden units, because modern is > than old school. I have to admit, unless you are using a stock core, the Sanden units perform better.

It’s getting a vintage air set up. We are throwing the whole catalog at it.

The damn A-6 takes 20hp and 40ftlb's! They do work surprisingly well, even with 134a...but the factory condenser is bigger than most cars radiators 🤣

This thing needs to be blown apart and gone through really bad. My grandpa built it about 35 years ago and it is showing its age. Along with my grandpa's age when he was driving it last before he passed. Fenders are dented and chipped in a couple areas.

Been in the family for about 80 years now. I believe my Great Grandpa bought it after he got rid of Rudolf Valentio's Voshaun (sp?)

My dad and I were talking about who could maybe handle it that would keep it my "Grandpa's build" and I immediately though of our very own Bonesfab

Has a Buick 3.8L N/A in it. Likely will have our cousin's fiance from O&S go through that since that is his specialty.

Don't forget about the York's that ford used. I think you only had about 20hp left after turning one of those on🤣
My brother had a 66 Mustang, 6cyl AC car...made it through the desert many trips, but the AC cut mileage a 3rd 🤣 In the 90's, I was making brackets to put Yorks on Toyotas and Mazdas...air bag compressors.

Off road guys were and I think some still are using Yorks for compressors to fill small tanks to run tools

Yep, we used to weld a bung into the roll bar and use that as the storage tank. Wire the mag clutch up to a pressure switch and you’re ready to run an impact, fill tires or blow the dirt off of whatever you need to be working on.👍

… I have had quite a few GM vehicles with A 6’s… They always worked well… I forget which car it was on but I researched getting a rebuilt A6… from what I was told that may not work out so well…apparently if they have been to the rebuilder a few times… they are junk???…

The last one I got for a customer came from O'Reilly of all places! It worked all this summer, or I would have heard about it 🤣

…Really???… At time I heard about they can only take so much rebuilding…it was directly from the woman who owned the rebuilding shop in Van Nuys… I can’t remember the name of the shop… That was probably the late ‘90’s…when NOS A6’s… became pretty extinct..,

… You know that was a long time ago and the more I think about it there were two major rebuilding shops in the San Fernando Valley then…and it may have been the guy at the other rebuilders that basically said …stay away from the rebuilt A’6’s…🤷🏽‍♀️

Good stuff. I’m finally getting back to work on my 69 Camaro. Damn welding helmet took a shit on me yesterday as I go to make some tacks on my tilton pedal box. Now I’m fixing tools before I can work on my car lol.

On the bright side I’ve dropped 6k on parts for my lt1 416 build since Friday. It’s fun blowing cash on Katech & Texas speed stuff

My son has a 72 Vega Panel delivery that we have had for a bit. Stalled the project when we realized just how unibody these things are. Will end up with a chassisworks kit similar to what you did.

Thank you for the motivation!

Damn,,, Kid pulled the motor in June of 2019 and the car has been stalled since,,,

That may be the first time I've seen a stock motor 🤣 They always showed up either devoid of power, or with a small block!

Put a turbo ecotec in that, they will make a reliable 350-375hp. Anything above 400 you need to upgrade the rotating assembly but are capable of 600+.

It had an Offy manifold, Holley 2 brl and header. Remnants of shag carpeting. This was someones shaggin wagon for sure! Have the stock 4 speed sitting out back as well!

Car is uncut and has all the rear hatches etc. Have new doors and have been collecting parts.

Car will get a full chassis and he still likes the idea of a 10.5" tire. "restomod" more than drag car.

Oh! The headliner is cherry still too! ;)

I found out changing the sparkplug in my 455 Firebird that was under that monster almost required a surgically implanted second wrist.

Art Morrison front & rear clip. Tri- 4 link in rear
1700993041820.png

Sweet as fuck! But I really meant Carbon Fiber Fenders/Hood....front clip...;)😆

Now I'm even feeling more poor lol! Some sick stuff there, are you supposed to install your own frame connector rails or otherwise stiffen the unibody? I would think the 4 link rear would require a full frame/rollcage?

455 Firebird you say..... I had a neighbor with a TA 455 shaker hood manual.... I believe it was a '75 or '76 last year..... he gave me so much shit cause I had the '77 Smokey n Bandit dog. Now his could move.... mine was all show no go. There was just something about that 455.

I'm gonna go sit over here while you two talk real motor stuff.....
