A little birdy whispered to me another one went in the mold last week.
Preston is a good guy, wish him the bestđź‘Ť
Preston has a really good bead on wanting to build the boats his way. I have a lot of respect for the fact he’s building it on his own terms and not in any rush. I think the finished product will be it’s own “magic” and it will hold it’s value in a small amount of builds for those that know what went into to it (quality).
No way these will end up with 20 hulls at LB yacht sales. Was never about production numbers with Preston.

A few months back Preston was showing me some boats. They had the warehouse next to mvd full of boats, and ultimately want to make that the magic showroom.

Magic liquidation sale 2.0....

Im stoked for these to hit the market. Wonder what they will cost when they finally do.
I was told by Horizon when I was there last week looking at a used Magic that if I wanted to wait on a new one for next year it would be 175k. They will have the 520 in them. Good luck with that. Better be a set of twins for that price 🤗

Well there's a reminder..... still an interesting thread for me from a purely business perspective... the Magic brand always causes lots of emotion on the river. I'm curious to see where new ownership places his price point relative to competition. As I listen to his market on RDP there was a fair amount of pain in the brands earlier 2 closings related to a smaller community.... such as deposits left unreturned, vendors left unpaid, employees left in a bad situation.... and thats in the past now....In addition I haven't read much negativity related to quality and design of product, much to the contrary owners seem to speak highly of this brand. Therefore a smart plan would be to be sure to place the first entries into market at the highest level of quality.... yet priced very competitively [whatever that means.... listening Nordic?] and let new owners speak to product satisfaction and new owner experience ... then wait for demand. This will be fun to watch for sure. You river peeps love your deck boats and near as I can tell there's only a handful of deck builders out west... so let the games begin... only the best will survive but you can bet it'll make each builder better.

go price a 28’ deck. 175 is not out of the ballpark. We all know MSRP and your sign the line price are different.
time will tell, but I bet Preston gets at least 160 a boat no issues.

With the market the way it was this year, it seems like they likely missed their window. My buddy sold his magic for 30k more than he paid, after five years of use!

Magic’s aren’t selling fast anymore. Dropping prices and staying on the market longer. Average now is about 80k. Good for me actually since I’m in the market for one

Not even true. I just sold my 06 with a 600sci for $120k Cash. One with a Teague 825 sold for $130k. 80k might get you a basic 496 with tribal flames.

Of course basic models. You think most Magic’s have 600 and 825’s? Bigger engine, bigger problems

Well fellas.... if we're keeping things real I'll jump in....looks like mine will go for $50K but needs a new trailer. 29' Wizard OB 2006 496 530 hrs... great shape and awfully sexy graphics but she hasn't sold fast due to either my personality or the trailer rusting out.
