I find it pretty unprofessional to be banging on other dealers in town.

I haven’t said anything negative about cactus or anyone else on here. Some members have shared experiences (both positive and negative) of all the different dealerships in town at one time or another. One guy even went back for a second shot at being a customer of cactus and got berated for it.

Let me know what ya want to do moving forward.

I’d be interested. My guess is there’s way more money in the boat broker and pontoon side of the business. Brokering is like real estate. Getting good inventory, marketing and closing the deal. They seem to do a good job of locking up pontoon production. They’re pretty much sold before they take possession. Slap power of your choice and run. I can’t imagine the margins are even close in manufacturing. Molds are the easy part. The costs to keep everything going has to be staggering.

Last i heard, and saw, the molds went north about 1-1.5 miles to someone else. And what I’ve seen of a few completed hulls they are gorgeous.

And half capped even.

That and it’s gotta be way more stable demand. Seems like everyone starts off the beginning of their boating hobby a little different. Depends on where you boat and what your friends have. Most seem to end up with something higher performance in the middle. All roads seem to end in a toon though.

Not always true. My FIL has a twin step and it is not an H series. One of their last molds popped before the previous shutdown.

The long and short of it is Preston didn’t want me to release the articles. Everytime this thread gets bumped he gets a bunch of people calling him to buy one and he isn’t ready to sell them yet and it ends in frustration.

I believe his goal is to have ten complete boats ready to sell before he releases them, and he is working on bringing mfg’ing in house at his other big building.

He works on it everyday, but to be honest he isn’t gonna release shit until he’s ready, and the answer to when that is.. well that’s when he’s ready. Lol

last I heard he’s got over a million bucks in Magic’s being built right now.

So I just bought a used magic from horizon so naturally Preston gave me the full run down on what they are doing.

I must say I am beyond impressed. They went above and beyond to make sure all the negative things you could say about a magic are addressed. The boats I saw are absolutely amazing.

He will also be offering upgrades to existing Magic’s to convert the platforms to solid ones or even billet if you want to spend the $.

I stop at Horizon every time I’m in town. I stop to check out the boats, and say hello to Preston and the gang. I get a little peek each time. I’m not a deck boat guy, but the changes he’s made, and what he’s producing is nothing but pure sexiness!

Looked like there are a couple hulls one the side yard at Horizon. (Next to West). I’d bet if they weren’t selling every boat on the yard in days they’d be working harder on the project. I don’t even think they’re updating the website inventory anymore.

Things are so busy on the used market right now, I tend to agree with DWC, you gotta take the $$ while it's falling out of the sky, so I think it's all just kinda sidelined temporarily?

i heard they were finding boats in the midwest, shipping to Havasu and selling before the could even get them detailed. Crazy year

My BIL has been looking for a deck boat. I’ll see one on the Horizon lot and try to look it up. It’s gone before it hits the site. Looked like they had a 30’ magic on the lot today. They also have a pretty cool toon with a slide. My bet is they’re gone before we’re back next Friday.
