What will be the brand name of the new boats? UltraMagic?

Hope all involved make a good go of the new venture. The price of a new deck boat in this market are insane

The current bottom design that everyone uses is 30 years old. They are under just about every deck or centerpod tunnel in existence in one form or another. if you walk through the launch line in the morning you see the same shoebox sized tunnels on all these things. They have played around with chines and steps and venting some with more success than others but the design hasnt changed much. If someone wants to dust off the magic molds and build them how is that different than an eliminator or an advantage? Both of their designs are as old as the magic.

the magics were bitchen boats when they came out. Throw new interiors in them and they will be bitchen again.

I will only comment on what I know to be fact...…. that the advantage bottoms are all original to them, not splashed versions of others........and each one is different
carry on......

Most are based on the 26 Talon bottom. Howard perfected it.

Magic had just introduced a new iteration right before they went under. I am not sure if this is the new bottom or not, I have to ask.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with that either. The talon bottom works. To say that you wouldn’t pay for an older design is laughable they are all an older design with tweaks.

Not saying they aren’t but they look awfully similar to the rest. Point isn’t that the design is copied or not just that the design is old.

I'd buy a new Horizon /Magic in a heart beat , Howards, Conquest and Nordic are great awesome deck boats as long as the new Horizon /Magic is cheaper than them using the same engine drive combo it's a no brainer. Preston just wrote his retirement check .

It looks like the original magic bottom with the tweaked step. This is not the same as the H bottom that they only made a few.

Wasnt Nordics pricing on new decks quite a bit lower than Howard and Conquest already?

Still, no way a start up boat company should be able to have the same price point as an established boat company with longevity. I’d personally pay more for a boat from a company that I knew had been around, and would still be there in the future.

2nd That!
Sure the end product will be everything and more you stated RD, but can't expect to wager the same without the history of a positive reputation just yet.

We saw Ron Moyes in his H Series Deck cruising the channel on Saturday.

Good for you Dave; keeping the Magic Love Alive! I'm an owner for 3 years of a 2006 29' Magic Wizard that I grabbed with only 100 hours and garaged for many years under cover. Paid 58K for this immaculate boat and now have 400 hours on her and she is solid as a rock. Several trips out from Newport Beach to Catalina and she's a beast. I researched all the post on Magic on this forum and have learned of the companies' twice closings so understand the hurt feelings & disappointments. Glad you'll be covering their next generation offerings! Competition is good for business.

Anybody have an in with Horizon to get pricing info? I'm seriously considering buying one but its been super hush-hush. I need to make sure everything is in order when they hit.

The only one that's coming to the top of my brain that is deep tunnel is Nordic & E-ticket. So when you say "all deep tunnel" exactly whom are you referring too?

135k with a 520.

Interesting. I just got quoted $120K for a new build on a Cheetah Wildcat with a 520.

If the build quality on these is as nice as what Dave seems to be indicating it would be worth the extra $15K.

Yup. That’s what they’re asking for a new Wildcat with a blue motor. You can do a 6.2 for around $80K but I think a 26’ deck would be a slug with a 6.2.

Wildcats are bad ass. It would suck with a 6.2 though.

Were there other upgrades? They are posting on Facebook that 26' Wildcat decks are base priced at $79,000 with a 6.2 / 350hp Merc, tandem axle trailer, Bimini, basic stereo, full glass liner, sea-deck type flooring....etc. That would be a $40k engine / drive upgrade

I imagine the 540 is a pretty big expense over the 6.2 ........ I bet it's close to 40K

Its looks closer to half to 2/3 of that.. about a $20K difference in a 6.2 and 520 per Pro Boats pricing.

6.2 350HP w/ Bravo is 15K. 520 with drive starts at $35.5K. They actually list the 540 at $3K cheaper, so clearly something is up there.I don't know if it comes with a drive, but that is an astronomical price jump for headers and a tune if that is engine only. :)

I don't think it includes a drive.....Does the 540 run a standard bravo (No bravo X or upgrade?)

I think the 520/540/565 are Drive by wire so maybe some extras for that as well?

540 seemed like the better deal...noticed that when looking..lol

I believe XR.

The have with drive pricing of the 520 and 565, but not 540. Maybe it is a $10K jump to the 540 and another $10K to the 565.

If so the 520 is the deal of the decade. Tune it for a few hundred and you have a 540. A 565 looks to be about a $40K difference with drive.

I see why people just buy a couple 400 verados and just stop the stupidity :)

I'm pretty unimpressed with the 565 to be honest. I would go 520 and add headers or steal some more $$$ from your savings and go 600 for sure.

Yea for the price I'd skip the 565. Friend has one in his Howard Deck. It is nice, but I don't feel the extra cost is worth it. 520 or 600 would be my choice too.

It is a victimless crime. Ill PM you my SSN and account number.

So a new Magic deck is 135k with a Merc 520, that's within +/- 10k of a new fully loaded Nordic 26' deck. Not sure that's enough of a price break for not having a substantial manufacturer and the best customer service in the industry standing behind your purchase.
