I don’t see why it would be any different?Set the throttle wide open and drive with the trim button... New setup might be a tad bit different id imagine.

oooooo that is a game changer and in the cart!I found this pneumatic handheld chamfer tool on Amazon that has carbide inserts for $60. Thing kicks ass even on stainless

Nothing worse than looking at a motor in a boat and just seeing a rats nest of plumbing. With high horsepower applications, the amount of needed components makes for a lot of plumbing. I decided I was gonna tackle making all my own stainless water fittings for the oil cooler and power steering cooler to keep things as clean as possible.
Sexy!Decided to break out the flaring and bending tools to get some stainless fuel lines knocked out. Of course I had to get them polished as well. The carb lines were definitely a good challenge, look at the amount of bends on just the one line to the carb. Super stoked on the outcome!
Those fuel lines really came out nice, and as you pointed out they are pretty complex, lots of planes, lots of direction changes.Decided to break out the flaring and bending tools to get some stainless fuel lines knocked out. Thanks Len! They were some tricky hardlines for sure! I usually buy a little extra tubing and I’ll cut some smaller pieces to do some sample bends of the right angle needed and mark the start of the bend on the tube and line that up with the start mark on the bending tool. These pieces are used to reference where to start bending on your real piece. Tape measure is your friend, take your time and don’t forget to put your tube nut and sleeve on before you make your last flare lol. Those fuel lines really came out nice, and as you pointed out they are pretty complex, lots of planes, lots of direction changes.
Can you share your technique? Mock up with welding rod? Did you get it right on the first try? Any welds in there?
Asm always, thanks for bringing us along.
Follow his instagram. It’s updated! Or just wait patiently. It’s worth it, I promise!I'm getting impatient lol.
Been a few days with no updates.
Let's see that beauty!
Beautiful float. Everything you have done thus far is right up my alley. The more and more I see these build threads it makes me want to purchase something similar and do my own thread.
Gary you gonna be in havasu this weekend? Dans taking the Daytona out for the maiden voyage. He may need a towAlright guys i know I've left you all hanging but i finished the boat and have just been having too much fun lol. Ill try to get some updates done tonight and get this thing current!
No I’ll be out the weekend before and the weekend of Memorial Day.Gary you gonna be in havasu this weekend? Dans taking the Daytona out for the maiden voyage. He may need a tow
Seeing the neverending talent on RDP always blows my mind!! This thread is a perfect example of that!!Man I am blown away at the craftmanship in this thread. It's threads like this that make me want to buy another old boat and rebuild it. Then I start to think about the money involved and sit back and enjoy the ride...lol
The top fitting threads in first, the second fitting has enough offset to clear the first fitting as you spin it on.View attachment 1375854
Gary do you have a plan on how to thread these on once they are welded up?
Dang thing looks and sounds awesome. I’m loving the attention to the little details too. Nicely done!Extremely successful maiden voyage! Left the back seat out so I could get to everything if needed. Only thing I had to do was fine tune the fuel pressure and adjust the float levels. So beyond thankful for all the people involved in this build! This thing HAULS ASS! Just need some more seat time to get comfortable and to learn the all new setup! This summer is gonna be awesome!! Felt really good to get the boat back on her triple axle dolly trailer too, it just really completes the look I was going for. My girlfriend approves of the new setup so u know we had some celebratory drinks too!!
Concentric twist. Makes it more flexible when heat shrink.Dang thing looks and sounds awesome. I’m loving the attention to the little details too. Nicely done!
Can you tell us a little more about the twisted sister rainbow warrior wire deal?
Thanks Len! The twisted sister rainbow warrior wiring deal is used in very high end motorsports applications where the vehicle sees a lot of vibration and or servicing where the harnesses need to come in and out. The concentric twisting of the wiring in the harness lets the harness be flexible while not creating strain where the wire terminates into every connection. Annnnnnnnd… it just looks badass!!Dang thing looks and sounds awesome. I’m loving the attention to the little details too. Nicely done!

Thank you!! Dolly sets it off for sure!!Saw this at the CPB regatta pre-party at Detail Specialties last Friday...boat looks awesome. The look of a Vector on a dolly trailer is badass!
Thanks dude!!Concentric twist. Makes it more flexible when heat shrink.
I love this thing.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. I’m thankful that I have the knowledge to be able to do this stuff. There’s no way I could afford to pay someone to build a boat like this!Man I am blown away at the craftmanship in this thread.
