I am truly amazed at just how a gelcoater can tape and spray those flowing designs. The old boats had fairly straight lines...These are continually curving! I wonder if the mold has those lines as guides?
The original plug was crushed by Nick at Hallett. A magazine and some online pics showed it being towed to a wrecking yard.
Somebody has that mold. Jerry at Barron or Nordic?
Great Video. If I could ask, how do you get the real-time GPS data on the video AND the progress graphic up or-down-the-river so to speak??
Special editing software?? etc? Thanks!
I remember seeing some race boats dispense with the cone clutch altogether for outdrive longevity!
On my old Volvo outdrive, I broke the shift cable. On vacation with no service facilities nearby,
I manually put it in Drive FWD and took the keys with me each time we stopped!
Yes you could not...
I had seen a gal from Riverside I believe on West Coast Customs. She made a custom dome and windshield for a car or van. She had also done polycarbonate and acrylic windshields for DCB, SKater, Eliminator in the past. For the life of me I cannot remember her nor her company's name.
Any help...
Just saw it on Amazon Prime.
You had to know right out of the gate that this would be bad. The small boat running around was a version of the Donzi Sweet 16.....Which came much later. Then referencing twin engines with only 2 tailpipes? Comanche Powerboats a reference to Apache Poweroats. Ben...
Remember, The 22 Howard is a 24 Schiada bottom, shared with the Vaughn along with a Solution model also.
A real rough water boat. The Hallett 21 is a Bud Bailey original design. The Hallett is a faster boat.
The Howard will cut through the rough stuff all day long.
Oh and my wake boarding son loves to fish. And he said I bet the 25/30' deep V fishing boat would make a great "big wake" wake boat. Even with Outboards! Hmm...?
Many here have seen the boating scene change on the left coast. As an addict of Powerboat and Hotboat mags the custom West Coast boat was the real deal. So I had an SKV built for me at Hallett.
I could fix it, hot rod it and afford nice trips to Mead, Naci, Havasu, Parker, Big Bear, Powell etc...
This George Linder designed hull comes from the often splashed "Challenger" molds (As seen for years running in the Catalina Ski Race)
The windshield deck mold seems to come from the Image Shadow or Stallion versions. Superboats has one, Hammond and Stealth had one, Apache has one.
And probably...
I don't ever remember a 240 style raised keel pad on a Vector.
Usually no pad or a delta pad insert. That is a mod to the original
straight V design. I wonder when that happened?
Lake Nacimiento is now at 12%. The County of Monterey has ruined a terrific lake and its functionality as a reservoir. But the good folks, land owners etc... are not taking this sitting down. Next is the recent newsletter.
