I need to clarify- Modern UTV race cars are Race Cars. Purpose built and amazingly fast, I don't want to take away from what the current, and past ones are doing/have done. They are also not at all stock chassis.
@monkeyswrench
I have built many (real ;) ) race cars, and did one UTV. 2018 CanAm. I under bid the project, only because I can't let a car leave that I would not drive. The tubing (is metric, about 52mm i think?) 2". Cage, lowers, etc....Wall thickness was under .060. I removed the upper cage...
Lucky guy...
I agree that the stock cages are generally garbage, but- That cage bent, did not break, and likely saved his life. The (likely huge) impact was reduced greatly by the deformation of the cage. Glad there were no passengers, specifically the passenger rear. That could have been deadly...
Agree! I wore my Datejust for 12 years, everyday, and it shows. First service was 10 years in, when I dropped it and the winding rotor shaft broke. I wear it every few months just to keep things moving.
I wonder how it would scale for you, my classic car policies are cheap to add another vehicle to-I can only drive one at a time.
I'd be interested to see what yours comes out at.
Any one else insure their watches? Most of us have a homeowners policy that would likely cover theft, but not loss or damage. I recently paid for a policy under Hodinkee after researching some of the available policies available. Not the cheapest, but the zero deductible and coverage for theft...
Just bought the same truck, but GMC AT4. Love it.
Sold my 2019 Raptor to get it. Raptor seats over the GMC all day-miss those on long trips.
My Dad just got rid of his 2021 1500 AT4 with the 6.2. Great truck, great power, but ate the lifters at 28k miles.
Its getting the works-Sebring flares, Mini-lites, roll bar. Drivetrain is coming out soon, then full suspension refresh before the body work/paint. Considering injection, but might stay with sidedrafts. Ill snap a few pics later.
At least, the In-N-Out that clogs traffic (most of them do) pays taxes.
I do agree with both sides of this- Health inspections, necessary. Families working hard? Good for them.
I think there is a happy medium here, and it will never come to fruition because this will either be over or under...
I have told my wife many times-I'm going to build a new Schiada RC21. And when I do, it will have wood grain and brown tones with orange pins. It reminds me of my first boat, a Spectra 20, and I like the throw back theme. Obviously as mentioned above, the gel design also needs to match the era.
Just ordered this...
