Birthday is June 15, last day of school the year I turned 16.

Dad took me to the DMV after noon to get my license, got it, already had a car ('66 Malibu station wagon) and had looked in the newspaper want ads for a job, interviewed with Point Loma Seafoods (San Diego) later that day and got the job on the spot. Summer work only.

Washed dishes at Torrey Pines Convalescent Hospial for a couple of years after that.

My fist job was working for the largest concessionaire at the Pomona Fairplex. It was quite possibly the greatest job on the planet. When you're at the Fairplex food is 4 times as expensive as it should be and working for the concessions I had access to as much free food as I wanted. I used to barter food for just about anything I wanted.

At age 17, I rode a bicycle five miles one way to work in a car wash wiping down cars after school from 4PM to 6PM and all day Saturday and Sunday for $1.65 per hour. My first paycheck was $60.00. Before that I had never had that much money at one time.

Paper route at 13, I believe, with San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Worked this just past 15 to get my first car, (72 Bronco 351 Windsor :D)

While I was doing the paper route one of my customers, a special request customer to always set the paper in a certain location offered me a job at a company he just started. I was to young at the time so he could not hire me. Tole me to call in a year.

Got my license the day i turned 16 and found a job making cold calls for LA Times. I sucked bad at this (always hated those calls) so i got let go first day.

Within a week I found a job as a bus boy on a corner restaurant (man my manager was a hot older Greek lady:drool) Anyway, worked my ass of there for 6 months.

Remembered about the customer on my paper route and went back to say hi. He got me an interview (his daughter was the manager) got hired there at 17, he was a pioneer in Arthroscopic tool design and I made the tools for surgery.

Met my wife here at 18 :champagne:

From there different jobs in that field and eventually College for electronics then computer networking... done, well still 20 years till retirement.:D

At 14 I got a job at a commercial tree nursery digging up mature trees and loading them for delivery.

At 16 a family friend threw me on a backhoe installing utilities, septic systems and permanent foundations for modular homes.

At 19 went to work for the rental company that supplied us with our Backhoes.

Been with the rental company for the past 13 years.

Still do the septic, utility install on weekends to make a few thousand here and there.

Here's the rundown of my "kid" jobs... man, those were the days.... At 16 I got a job at TCBY, slangin' yogurt... lol. Senior year in high school, I walked into the trailer at a construction site where they were building a Macaroni Grill and talked my way into a waitress job - good money for a high school kid. In college, I was an RA on an all-boys floor of the freshman dorm for a few years... then I got a job as a concierge at the Hyatt in downtown SD (best job ever for a college kid!!)

I started plastering around 10 just kind of being there and throwing trash away. Then at 12 I was working every weekend and summers. It really sucked when all my friends were going to the beach or swimming but I did buy my first car in cash at 16. :D

Bus boy/Dishwasher at Denny's at 16. During the summer I would work the graveyard shift (11-7:00 am):D It was a blast when the place got packed at 2:30 in the morning with everyone drunk coming from the bar.

Not to mention, at one point or another I was fooling around with every hot waitress under 25 yrs. The stock room and the walk-in freezer were good places;)
