Painting it black didnt help it any and those wheels need a polish!

It was a sema truck and painted green and pulled a matching green boat if I remember correctly
Oh shit! You're right. There was actually a pic on RDP of it rollin down the 210 or some shit. It was all crazy candy green, pulling a roll bar boat if I recall correct that had the same paint.

Those rims on it need to go. That flat silver looks like dog shit.

While searching for pics of it green came across this cool article on it -

And this cool article on tandem axle rigs in general. I remember some of this trucks from the late 80's early 90's.

Those were the days... I had a 1993 crew cab Silverado with a 6-10 lowering kit on bags with 17" Budnik wheels.

Truckin Magazine was great reading material.

I’m in love. I had a black ‘93 crew cab, 454/5-speed that I dechromed and put a black 2000 nose on. Had a 1000W system in it with 12” Kickers in a custom built box I made behind the seat.

I still have the tall deck 427 block, Merlin iron heads and a MerCruiser MPI manifold, as well as a Vette ZF 6-speed i was going to put behind the 526 I was building. Sold the 4.500” crank to the guy that bought the Corvette Gran Sport Blue truck in my previous post.

I never got around to getting it dropped. Trans went out when gas got expensive and I was remodeling a house so I converted it into kitchen cabinets. Wish I had just bought the cabinets!

Your truck is awesome, simple is cool, don’t change a thing!

Well this thread brings back a great time in my life , raising kids , building cool stuff, lotsa of boating and enjoying my brief period as the "GUY" to see in the northwest if you wanted a cool ,low truck.. I was just thirty or so and had opened my first shop after walking away from a decade at Boeing Aerospace and having always been a lowered truck guy along comes the sport truck craze and I DOVE IN ! This 1999 Silverado opened many doors for me and was a faithful companion for 20 years..If that truck could talk you would hear many stories, some good some not but all great story's and memories. I voided every part of my warranty after 200 miles on the first new vehicle i ever owned ! This truck was used to develop all of AIRLIFT companies suspension parts for the new Silverado line of trucks and was very instrumental in launching a good friends career as well . I was living the good life , TOYO tires was always calling to give me free tires for anything I was building and other manufactures were very literally just sending me product hoping we would use it.. For a while it was a joke around there that everyday was x-mas when the big brown truck showed up.. Lots of first's came out of my shop back then 1. first use of barbwire pinstriping as graphics on a vehicle ( this I know from being involved in the pinstripers group) 2 First set of 18 " wheels in the state 3 First set of 20s in the state 4 First remote airbag system operated from a key fob that we developed probably lots more when I start thinking about it.. I was living good ( not making any real money ), but me and my friends were ballers ! I had slowly been teaching myself to paint and looking back I was definitely following some trends where-as today I'm not happy unless I am setting trends.

I remember taking my 95 4 door blazer to the drop shop for my c channel. First car I’d ever owned. Rode like shit after the 3/5 drop but damn did it look cool and produced some great memories.

Lost the tranny one time in Ludlow on the way to Havasu so it was 2nd gear in the middle of the day in summer all the way to the transmission shop on the edge of town in Havasu. They got me out of there by the end of the long weekend.

This is the stage that got me into trucks. My older cousin, who I always looked up to and learned from, had one. It was a clean truck and I thought I was the coolest kid riding around in it. From there he went to a 98 one ton crew cab long bed. My love of trucks all started there.

Bumping this to the top.

My son and I are picking up a bone stock 1995 extra cab Chebby tomorrow from the original owner. She’ll be getting dropped with a Belltech 4/6 sitting on some fresh Budniks. Not going too crazy with it but we’re looking for the classic 90s look again.

She’ll be looking pretty towing our Cole daycruiser soon enough!

Stay tuned

I have been talking to my 12yo about getting an old single cab OBS to fix up as his first car...prices are stupid for an old ass truck....I had a '93 extra cab, slammed, C-notched, everyone was doing the bell lowering kits back then, but I actually had mine done by a place called Chisolm Suspension in Santa Fe Springs. It originally had Boyd 15" wheels but I remember when I thru on the Boyd 17" Deuces on it was like unheard of, 17's were BIG back then...

I wish I had pics of the truck, I have like a million pics of all my more recent vehicles, but no pics of my cool cars back in the day

These are the wheels I had

For those of you on Instagram, give 40gritdesign a follow.

I had him bring his OBS with a mid mounted LS7 and one our Weddle S5 Transaxles for our PRI show booth car last year.

He designed and made his own wide body 1-piece glass hood/front clip and rear fenders. C6 corvette suspension. Full tube chassis. He went full retard on this thing.

Got a lot of looks at the show, and lots of killer “trash” comments for not being done and running yet. My favorite comment was “just another trash SEMA build!”, to which John replied by draping his 1320 Video shirt over the rear wing that read “No, my truck isn’t done yet!”.

He’s been thrashing on it this year to try and get it on track before it gets cold up in Detroit.

Had a 1999 GMC 1/2 ton extended cab slammed on airbags with Boyd's and custom paint with a killer sound system. Kick myself for selling it in 2004.
Same here...I had a 91 ....everything except the bags ....kick myself for getting rid of it... but had to at the time.

Funny I have a 2013 Denali here in Hawaii. Was thinking of bringing to Havasu. It has a 6.2 and only 60k miles. Thought it would be fun to super charge or twin turbo it and lower like the 80s-90s. This is when it was new and just shipped in from the CA dealer. It is sad looking and needs a bit of love as it just sits most of the time. 😢😢😢😢

I literally just picked up my 05, from lakeside speed and shine. 6/8 kit with slam specialties bags and air ride control system. Huge difference in ride quality.

I gotta say, I didn't want to do the job and had a fee ppl recommend jimmy and he didn't disappoint. The work is in point and done right

I have my Dads 2011 white GMC Denali that was his daily driver when he passed away 7 years ago. It's got a 6.2 with AWD. White exterior, black interior. Although it's not my favorite body style I plan on keeping it forever.

I've replaced the dash plastic with NOS part and keep it up pretty well. It sits most of the time and we use it as an extra car when I have one in the shop or need a loaner.

How bad was the dash swap? My dash on the 2013 is getting bad with it outside so much.

I just put a new engine in my 2000 Crew Cab Short bed, she made it 400K and I told "Christine" if she got there I would give her a new heart. I have wanted to lower her since the day I drove her off the lot, just never pulled the trigger. Bringing my Grandpas 70' GMC Suburban home soon, was thinking of putting these HD wheels and tires on it and dropping my C2500... or may just drop the Suburban (2500 w/ 402)

So bad I had the dealer do it. They charged be an arm and a leg. Broke a small piece of the new one on the install right by the radio. Rep took a pic and asked me if it was okay. I told him it’s only okay if you’re okay with me not paying. So they replaced it again.

Figured that was the case since it is so large. I think that a. Dash cover would look so good. LOL

My dash is cracked in a couple places as well. It’s a common problem with that era of trucks

Yeah, I hear you. When my truck was new I had a guy working for me. He had one of the first years of this body style. His dash was cracking and said that it would happen to mind. I knew it was a ticking time bomb. Just gotta go take it to Extensive and have them customize the crap out of it. 😂😂😂

Still have this OBS, ordered it from the factory in Oct 98', its a 99' She got nervous when they said they were discontinuing the 2-door, so we went to thousand oaks chevy, sat down and ordered one. It has stupid low miles, less than 86... something. Sports truck by Dean did all the work on it back in 99' when it was brand new. I always liked the lowered look, just not actually lowered, so we went with a Z71, 4x4, but did the roll pan, no roof rack, etc. Still looks ok today 25 years later.

I have nearly the identical truck… consider the updated tow mirrors, so much better visuals of whats going on around you!

Is yours a big block or small block?
