So I saw a video from Josh Altman who sells high RE in LA. He said 90% of the PP homes didn’t have insurance. He believes more than 50% are moving somewhere else outside of CA. The other 50 more moving to Brentwood, HH and more. And big big chiunk are moving to Newport. He is already selling the lots said he had 24 for sale already

Ugh… that’s been the talk down here. Hope they stay away from Newport. You made your shit hole, stay in it.

Close friend was on the same show as him. Take what he says with a grain of salt. There’s a lot of talk in town about what’s going to happen with no concrete facts as of yet.

24 lots for sale all at once would tank client’s pricing.

Everyone’s already at step 60 out of 100 when no one has stepped foot in the building department to start rebuilding.

This was absolutely a traumatic event for a lot of people. I just hope people don’t make huge financial decisions of off these emotions (they will).

Surrounding homes were worth 2ish million according to Zillow. Without knowing how insurance, the state, the federal government etc are going to handle this I’d offer them 3-400k. That might be a 5 million dollar home in 5-10 years…..

That guy is full of shit. The overwhelming majority of homes in PP are insured and I've been in contact with most of the homeowners whose projects I've worked on over the last 20+ years and they are rebuilding.

Well looks like we’re back at it on Monday with the winds. This time mostly Ventura County. 🙁

I got a Edison PSPS warning for the San Bernardino mountains.

Like I said earlier, Edison is going to start shutting every ones power off for a light breeze.

Anyone hear if the Eaton fire was started by Edison? Lawyers already filed lawsuits like it was and the investigation isn't even over.

Everyone needs a generator. It's so easy to use it as backup power.

That's the conversation at work presently. Everyone asking how to get a whole home genset and who can install it.

Or get a portable genset just to have something. CARB recently relaxed the CA restriction on portable generators so pick one up before June 30th. After that CARB will make everyone power their house with their Tesla.

Can always pick one up in Arizona, or have on shipped to a buddy out of state.

I already have the whole home and the portable for additional backup. I'm already good to go.

I kinda doubt anyone from the recent fires (PP or Altadena) are going to drive to AZ. Probably more likely to order online and have it freight shipped.

Pretty common for the lawsuits to fly well before knowing any facts.

Slightly off-topic, but related to the fires here in SoCal.

Now you have to put away your battery-powered and/or gas-powered leaf blowers.......

(And no, I don't listen to KIIS FM)

We got the alerts. Battery is on full charge.

I will say the tesla power wall is impressive. I will never own a electric car. But the power wall let us know it's only depleting enough house power today to keep the batteries full.
If sdge cuts power we are at 100% full, ready to go.

Edison shut off both my homes last week and it was barely moving the trees at either one. Having the motorhome worked well. Fired up the generator and had everything I needed until SCE flipped it back on.

… Well yeah… But I would hate to see her tear a nail… lol..,Derrick her boyfriend and I had talked about it….We were going to go get some gasoline and a new battery… But he got busy raising his new baby girl…. I spent a couple hours talking to Neighbor girl ‘s brother
today and should’ve brought it up to him… he is very handy..,he helped me cover both of my boats in the driveway a few weeks ago …maybe Monday I will go buy a battery and some gasoline and he can hook it all up when he gets home from work…🤷🏽‍♀️

… Got to watch 10 to 13 guys remove the eight foot remains of a blown over dead tree across the street today… Loader… A 40 foot dump trailer and of course a supervisor in a pick up truck from Los Angeles St. services… A car passing by tried to get the driver of the dump trailer to move his rig so he could get through … Everybody kept telling him …neighbors workers… everybody… to hang a U-turn and go back to the previous street… I think the guy seriously did not know how to turn his car around🤷🏽‍♀️ should’ve videoed the whole thing it was quite comical😳 about 8 of the guys sat around for a couple of hours till the dump trailer showed up … Not criticizing as I know how logistics and timing work… just another weekend in El Barrio Noho🤷🏽‍♀️

How long will a power wall power your home? Does that include a/c?

I'll say this - for sure the Eaton fire was an eye opener.

The manner the fire jumped from house to house in otherwise regular residential neighborhoods made us realize our home could suffer the same fate, and even my MIL's home by the bluffs in Costa Mesa. Go figure, it's a "flood risk" area, but wildfire could easily take out her whole neighborhood.

For the first time in life in the IE, I have a "go bag" ready.

Just a heads up to Edison customers in the Ventura County area. The blue on the map could put you in a potential shut off.

We were supposed to have winds like that last week, our strongest gust was 35 at our house, the week before the winds seized a bearing on my weather station, I figure we were 80mph at the time. We will see this week, if it's a big nothing then they need to stop crying wolf, FTR they weren't calling for winds like that 2 weeks ago until about 12-14hrs before they started.

With a lot of these structures now gone, and everything above burned. Would there be any concern of mud slides if there is a rainy season?

Reason I ask is we did have a fire a few years ago in Mt. Charleston somewhat near homes, and when we got a rainy season we ended up with a mudslide. It's not something common in the Vegas area.

Malibu will get rocked from carbon cyn south.

Carbon, Las Flores, Big Rock, Tuna and Topanga canyon all received a bunch of damage.

Pretty good "breeze" here in Huntington Beach at the moment. With all the news out of Washington today taking the attention, what's happening with the fires?

Have had some serious gusts in La Verne. Probably because I moved the generator from the garage back to the shed yesterday.

I wound down the umbrella in my front yard… But I forgot to take the cover off my motorcycle …luckily that didn’t blow down the street… Probably 40 mile an hour winds earlier today.🤷🏽‍♀️ just delight breeze now in North Hollywood…🤷🏽‍♀️
