All you people that wanna leave, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. :skull
Not even close :thumbsdown I'm from Yorba Linda and the 91 was the only way to and from there and the Phoenix area traffic is like the autobahn compaired to Ca. traffic
I lived in St. George utah for 8 months. Beautiful area with lots of awesome lakes. Only problem is getting booze
I can't blame you, I'm thinking of moving back to Yorba Linda, just as soon as they dump the Brea Pd.!
Yep. Nashville area is where we are trying to go. Hopefully any other Californians that come will be those who believe what our founding fathers believed... It would be so much easier if I had just been born there.
We have the toll roads and fast trac now.
LOL Well, working in NV and living in CA is not the same as being completely out of the state. It is almost as if I never left.
I've only been gone 3 years and I could see the 91 and toll road from my front porch and always thought evey night......why in the hell are these people paying to go as slow as the freeway.....especially going into corona, that toll road turn is a crawl until 11pm at night :smackhead
The Governator passed a new law last week due to the budget crisis.
If you're going to move out of Kalifornia, make sure you take someone with you
How about riding like this within an hour of your house?
If I were to leave I would look to go to AZ, Phoenix or Prescott, or like you, St. George, UT...

Its not always like the way you put it. For many its "who dont want to stay"
For me, I prefer a neighborhood that when I leave my garage door open at night my neighbor comes over and closes it for me, not stealing everything I own.
Tell me where you can buy a 3,200 sqft house with a pool and this view for $325k in SoCal
At least for me the price of a house in AZ and my 2500 sq ft house here in Yorba Linda doesn't really apply in my case. We would have to take a major pay cut to move to AZ. :thumbsdown
As many know.. I have been back and forth many times.
We are back to AZ for the last time.
Can't afford to have a life in San Diego I want vs a life that I can have here on one income.
Love the weather and the ocean, love my family more.
AZ has so much to do and see. If you pick up a AZ Highways mag, you will see. Hell I have 15 years worth.

For me it would be the weather that would kill me. I love that hot ass weather at the river but I sure as hell don't wanna live in it. I enjoy my $60/month electric bill. :thumbsup
I just can't see myself breaking their hearts, they have too many family and friend here, really good family and friends. I can deal with living here a lot easier than they would living away from everything they love.
Where exactly do you live? :skull
I've pondered the idea of Arizona. But then again, I would be walking away from everything I've known here all my life. That's a scary concept to me and my family.
Yes back. But normally we don't move around a lot. I guess it took a few moves to figure out where we wanted to be. So now we replant in the same place we were already at. haha
Good luck....we are happy in AZ, but in reading your posts it you really seemed to enjoy the beach.....I could totally see someone being a Beach Sick if they lived here but enjoyed surfing and beach things...
BTW...Southwest $25 fares for the next two days if you need to get your beach fix...
Southwest Airlines offers Fares from as low as $25 for travel between Dec. 2 - Dec. 16, 2009 and Jan. 5 - Feb. 10, 2010. Tickets must be purchased between Oct 27 and Oct 29. Some restrictions apply, see site for details.

We like St George, Hurricane, and even Cedar City if you want to stretch another hour.
I don't think this increases your annual tax liability, just gets the money to the State faster so they can spend it faster. Fucking morons.
But if this will scare people in to moving out of State..so be it

I would pack up and leave tomorrow. I really am not interested in raising our childred here. I have never felt an attachment to California. Unfortunately Dave loves it here and truthfully I can't see him ever pulling the plug and heading out of town. I guess I can think of worse places to live than Carlsbad.
You'd starve, Lue.
Not too many people out here have lawns. :skull
Don't you live in a 800 sq ft home?
According to the experts, Az will be the coastline one day...then they'll have ports for you to work at900 sq. ft. And its worth more than a 2500 sq. ft home in Phoenix. The south Bay beach areas will always bring the high property values. We have the weather, everything a person could need is around here. And I'm a whopping 10 minutes from work. Ya I don't think I'm going anywhere anytime soon. If people wanna leave then I say "Good luck and take someone with you". :thumbsup

So thats where the little people outfits came from when the guys got back . HUH, small worldI'm like you...I don't get the Phoenix attraction. And I've spent a lot of time in the Phoenix area. Even had my truck broken into in Mesa.
Idaho kind of looks like the destination for the yuppie type of crowd, kind of like Seattle 15 years ago. And you are right...they bring their crap with them. They don't like to be controlled, but they immediately want to make the new place a better place to live. Pisses the locals off something fierce...and usually tell the new people, if you want to live like you are in CA, then stay in CA.
I just spit my food all over the place. Awwwwww hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaYou'd starve, Lue.

They said something about those. Said they looked like little girls clubs so they gave um to the 9 year old across the street. GO FIGUREMust have been another midget, or your guys are holding back on you. My golf clubs were stolen.

We recently had some friends move to Texas after having checked it out earlier this year....as of last week, they can't stand Texas and are now moving to Montana. We'll see what happens, I'm guessing they'll be back to Cali lickety split after winter.
We're staying, Cali is still a great place to live. The only other place we would move to is Kauai, but it's kind of slow over there, not sure we could stand it.
The rest of ya' all's - CYA!
How is there situation overall? Not trying to get personal just wondering. The reason why I ask is because some people, to me it seems anyway, move not because they really have a disdain for California but simply because they cannot make it work and blame it on California. They move somewhere else and still can't make it work and say that it sucks and just come back here because friends and family and weather and blah blah blah. When you really look at their situation they are just not real good at managing their finances and living situation. On the other hand you have those that are very successful but want a nicer place to raise kids, not have to drive 3 and half hours and have a separate house just to go to the lake, get away from the rat race etc. Those people usually research before they go and it works out for them. Of course there is the small number that can make it work and just don't end up liking where they went to but in general what I usually see is the ones coming back or wanting to come back truthfully couldn't make much of anything anywhere.
I love California.
Where else in the world can you pay to sit in traffic?
I litterally do that daily on the Toll Road and Fast Trak....lol:skull
Nothing worse than plunking down $9.50 for the fast trak only to come up on a accident in the lanes.Cars on the freewayt fly by and we are screwed...haha:bash:
Did they make drinking and driving legal again?
You can always stop in Y.L. and have a couple cold ones until the freeway gets better around 8pm. You can see the 91 from my house.:champagne: Or do what a lot of people do and hang at TGIF's in Savi Ranch.
