I picked this 250 up last summer, 502 Magnum will hit 70 with a Bravo 26. Fun boat and helps keep the hours off the Mach 22, a little better on the busy weekends as well.

That deck is the Smith deck as well as bottom.
Also interesting. I had read that the tops on these were Eagles, but..? Boat is registered as a 430 Eagle and has an ELB HIN. Not sure what makes it an Eagle if it's all Smith. Maybe Eliminator had to apply some model to it.

Anyone seen this 05 220? There's a couple around with similar gel. Traded it in when we got the 236, Eliminator said it went to the San Deigo area. I've never seen it on line or in person, it was a nice boat. Sorry for the fuzzy pic. View attachment 1331314
Looks like a friend of a friend's boat. They use it in Parker.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out. The ones that are similar are really hard to tell apart. Mine had blue brought into the dash with graphics all the way to the nose, also it was just a 350 mag. I'm sure it's still being used, it was perfect in 07, but who knows.

I doubt your going to get a reply from EB since they haven’t posted in over 3 years, lol 😝
They are too busy making Speedsters and Daytonas to bother with advertising as they are still pretty backed up with orders. And I doubt they have all the V bottom molds at this point, I think they've been divesting themselves of them. If they don't make any, why keep them?

I believe it was originally designed by Larry Smith for Wellcraft, and introduced as the 43' Don Johnson Edition at the end of the Miami Vice hey days. It's ALWAYS been one of the sexiest boats ever built. I have always been a HUGE fan of the Scarab line, beginning with the 30' Panther all the way up to the 50' Meteor.

The 43 was always the prettiest though. 👍

Thanks. Larry Smith did it right on this one. Solid acceleration and I've had it to about 120 so far with more left and no sign of finding the limits.

Yours is definitely the best looking one ever built. I also liked "Smokin' Joe" but that was a 43' flat deck and not the Excel deck that you have. The 43' flat deck is also the same hull Don Johnson raced in the late 80's and at the World Championships down in Key West. That boat was powered by Lamborghini engines and coupled to Mercruiser drives. I've got a picture of him standing in the cockpit of that boat in the wet pits. 👍

Not like the good ol days when @shueman was running the social media and all the cool collages
Was a rather disappointing day when they let Gary go.
The guy is solid and was all about showing folks the how’s and who, the process, the boats, the numbers, etc.
Hard to fimd guys with that sort of enthusiasm these days.
I miss Gary being around the shop.

I've always loved the 43's. Coffee Break is one of my favorite boats of all time. I saw the red and white one running on Tahoe once and that was a beautiful sight. Right place right time and heard the sound across the lake,,, still feels like yesterday.

Since this thread is dredged up again and I haven’t posted in it.

2017 Outerliminator 30’

Bottom is Outerlimits SV29 bottom, laid up with Kevlar, mated (and heavily massaged) to a 30 Eagle top deck. The Eagle top deck isn’t the ICC but the regular deck. It’s a walk through open bow. Fully capped.

This combo was the result of Mike loaning Bob the SV29 molds. Eliminator laid up the first one out of the molds and it’s very pretty. I think it wound up in Canada. I have pictures of that as well. Anyway this boat is the second and final hull before the mold went back to OL.

We solved the water entrance problem by making a large extra swim platform that sits about 4” off the water and then two retractable ladders one on each side of the swim platform.

Go is provided by a TCM 1200QR, huber trans and a Weismann dry sump six with a set of K planes.

Boat handles Havasu and Mohave like nothing. Haven’t tried it on Mead or Powell. Handles the Catalina run really well too, I feel like the ocean is where it really shines.

Ok, ok, not a pure Eliminator.
I remember when they were building your boat.. “hush hush, top secret… nobody could talk about the OL bottom” Lol. The most bad ass V Bob ever built 👍.

Gary's probably the biggest reason I'm on RDP. He got me hooked on all his boat pics when I was new to Eliminator and computers. Don't know if I should thank him or not. 😅 JK he's a great guy.

That's what I though as well, but I wasn't 100% sure. I remember that Dan from Archer Marine had one setup with diesels around 2003-4 ish and I was able to go for a ride in it. It sounded like a school bus but was a fun ride. I think the 43 Smith/Scarab is one of best looking big V bottoms around

My new to me 1999 25' eagle performed great but the build quality left a lot to be desired. It ran well with a 502 MAG. speedmaster shorty drive a K tabs, but man some of the stuff I found when pulling interior panels made me scratch my head. That was along time ago though. Might have been built in AZ or Mexico?

I’d bet AZ. Mac was still running the AZ operation in the early 2000’s so it could have come from there. We bought a 1998 28’ Eagle (straight bottom) and had Mac go through it and re-gel it out in AZ. We eventually sold that as we lost interest in it in favor of other boat projects.
