I'm suprised they (Eliminator) haven't used their Vee molds to come out with a CC. That 34 hull would make a bad ass performance CC.

1989 Tahoe. Same bottom as the eliminator whaler and Mojave. Great riding 21 footer.

Cool had a Carrara xr202 was a nice Havasu boat but not big enough for mead on choppy day. I called it the kidney puncher!

Hey guys any ideas what I can do to attach the cup holder/ pocket area again? The bolts came out of the wood. Port side. Starboard side is still attached.
Was thinking of filling the holes with wood filler and then bolting it back up. Good idea or no?

I would make an elongated stainless plate to go on the underside. Kind of like a big washer, but shaped to fit in the space under where the rail bolts and spread the load across the remaining wood/material that’s left.

I would also seal under where the rail contacts the gel coat with silicone or similar type material to prevent any water from getting in there, which is probably what caused the wood to weaken and let the bolt come through in the first place.

Just saw your edit. By the pictures and description, I seemed like you were talking about the rail, not the cup holder deal.

Is there a picture that shows what has detached? Maybe pull on whatever is loose to show what’s going on? That might help with a solution.

How fast is to fast for a 230 eagle? Currently runs 65ish (my gauge)with me and the kids. It feels planted still.

454 with dart Pro 1 aluminum heads
RPM performer intake manifold
750 quick fuel double pump carburetor
4 blade prop.

but trying to figure out if I should add some parts to make it faster if it’s worth it.

I'm sure it can easily handle 10mph+or- without any quirkiness, but speed can be quite expensive. On a good day 50hp might give you 2-3 mph, but how much will you stress the outdrive? Then there's always the steering, most people start recommending hydraulic steering at over 65 mph. You might experiment with props or you might already be optimized, really just depends on what you want.

^^ this!

The 230 is a conventional no step v bottom. It was never intended to be a fast boat. It’s a family truckster and toy tower.
It’s amazing how much more room the 230 has inside vs a 236.
Personally I’d give up the top end number for all that room.

@riverrider55 before you throw a bunch of money and time chasing the number, get down and have a good look at the bottom. If it isn’t straight it’s not worth throwing money at. Unless you throw time and money at the bottom first.
A different prop may be enough to make you smile, depending on what you’re running now. The parts you listed on the engine sound up to task.
Any idea what the compression is?

By the way.
While they are saying they don’t want to build them anymore, I know for a fact the 230 molds are still on the property. If someone Reeealy wanted one;)
I think the 30 is also still there but hasn’t been used in many many years

Don’t get me wrong the boat is a dream come true to me! I love the dam thing. But who wouldn’t want to go faster? I really want to do thru hulls on it but I know I’ll regret it cause it already is loud at idle.

It sounds like im doing pretty good where it’s at right now. So I’ll just leave it. Maybe have someone go thru it all make sure she’s fresh.

Yeah it’s crazy see how much more room mine has over the pictures of the 236s I see posted!

we did the same with our V-bottom DCB.. and may be selling it again after this season. Almost time to retire and Idaho lakes aren’t speedboat friendly.
Do they have speed limits on the lakes in Idaho?

Eliminator built a beautiful white 30’ Eagle with blue stripe around the top of hull for Eddie Marine. Had a blue three axle Extreme trailer. All the AN fittings had anodizing removed and were polished. Polished billet hardware. Guessing this was back in the late 90’s or early 2000’s. Eddie wasn’t really a boat guy. He was more about business. My buddy worked for Eddie back then. We dragged it out to Havasu to give it a test run. Had twin Merc Blue motors if I remember correctly. The boat was super clean! No cleats or Bimini top. It ran fantastic.

My take away from that trip. It was a cool boat. The type you wanted to be seen in. However, it wasn’t very practical. It was a bitch to board from the back with twins and the back 30’ out in water. Boarding was nearly impossible from sides or front with the tall freeboards without assistance from a dock.

I know the boat was sold sometime later. Never seen it since. Always wonder where it ended up.

Since this thread is dredged up again and I haven’t posted in it.

2017 Outerliminator 30’

Bottom is Outerlimits SV29 bottom, laid up with Kevlar, mated (and heavily massaged) to a 30 Eagle top deck. The Eagle top deck isn’t the ICC but the regular deck. It’s a walk through open bow. Fully capped.

This combo was the result of Mike loaning Bob the SV29 molds. Eliminator laid up the first one out of the molds and it’s very pretty. I think it wound up in Canada. I have pictures of that as well. Anyway this boat is the second and final hull before the mold went back to OL.

We solved the water entrance problem by making a large extra swim platform that sits about 4” off the water and then two retractable ladders one on each side of the swim platform.

Go is provided by a TCM 1200QR, huber trans and a Weismann dry sump six with a set of K planes.

Boat handles Havasu and Mohave like nothing. Haven’t tried it on Mead or Powell. Handles the Catalina run really well too, I feel like the ocean is where it really shines.

Ok, ok, not a pure Eliminator.

That's interesting. I wonder how many eagle top/someone else's bottom Eliminators have been done. Since my post #27 in this thread a few years ago, I bought a 43' Eliminator with the Larry Smith Scarab bottom and Eagle top. Runs really well.

I thought the 43 bottom was always a scarab bottom? I don’t think it was ever an Eliminator bottom?

The red and yellow flame 43 posted earlier used to be called Coffee Break at one point, Bob got us a ride in it for Catalina one year. Nice boat, super loud.

2013 Eliminator Eagle 260, Wake Edition. I don’t have any pictures of the interior but it’s an open bow walk through.

RD wrote an article on it, it’s in my sig. if you want more info give it a read.

Similar deal as the 30, this has a splashed and modified Malibu Wakesetter swim platform on the back. And we Gator Stepped the platform as well as the euro step area. Made a huge difference.

Great boat.

They made 4 or 5 of the 43s and I believe they were all the scarab bottoms. One was even diesel powered, I think. I was only aware of those being an Eliminator top and a "something else" bottom, so that was cool to see yours. If you ever make it to Mohave again, I'd love to see it.

Not sure I'd classify mine as loud, but with 2,400 HP it is noticeable. Above 80 or so all I can really hear when I'm driving is the wind in my ears...

This is probably my favorite Eliminator. We bought it used and abused and fixed it up.

1995 Eagle 230 (no step). Merc 525SC and Teague Platinum XR Bravo. Open bow walk through.

Being an older carb’d blower motor it didn’t always start like an EFI motor would. Boat had a foot throttle which made it more fun to drive. Usually two pumps on the throttle and it would catch and quit. Two more pumps and it’d fire right up. Could definitely hear the blower whine.

I got it up to 74 on Havasu, but this thing had a wierd quirk where the back seats would blow out at speed. Even if I towed it on the freeway. So I had to start towing with the cover on, and I do that now for all the OBWT boats we have.

One major thing it needed was full hydraulic. It only had cable assist with a single arm and boy it got squirrelly. Not sure why it wasn’t built with full hydraulic.

One thing I also like about it was you still felt like you were sitting on the boat, rather than in the boat. Also handled the chop amazingly well, but bigger water was more of a challenge, which is why this got sold in favor of the 26 Eagle.

Finally the best part of this boat was it was small enough that cleanup was quick. Not much to wipe down, not much to vacuum. Really the perfect size for more boating and less work.

I never realized your boat was that bitchin of a build. I thought it was just a walk through OB with a hard top tower.

... I guess I should have expected more being that the boat is full capped

The bottom was built more traditionally than OL builds them. I think Bob mentioned that the SV29 has like 15 different molds for all the various internal parts and pieces that was all glued together. Eliminator built their first SV29 following OL’s molds and jigsaw puzzle exactly. Ours was going to heavily modified to get the top on it, and the floor had to be modified to move the engine forward to fit the trans and plug-in #6, and it got a giant belly tank.

Eliminator spent months getting the top on the bottom. Cut it up to move the cockpit forward, had to widen it because the OL was wider, and then glassing all the cuts and replacement panels in place. Then they shot it white and then spent time matching up the hull gel to the top.

The hard top was a mold from their party cat or something, but we didn’t think the towers they used with it would hold up to speed and rough water. So Skylon built a completely custom tube tower to fit the hard top, speakers and light bars.

I think after Eliminator got done they were probably happy to never have to do that again. It was a custom custom.

It's a shame Eliminator wants nothing to with V's.
Well it’s simple business. Cats are what everyone wants, and the bigger ones are giant profit.

Eliminator was probably making marginal profit margins on the old school small V’s and Daytonas.

If you were running a business, you’d want the biggest profit margin you could get to keep the lights on.

When’s the last time DCB built a V? Or a lot of other big custom builders?
