The answer is.. there is no telling how much damage was done to it.. at a minimum I’d have to rip the floor out.. probably the front bulkhead.. not sure on the transom. But yes it was full of water or “sunk on the trailer” is what some call it.

Shameful , and sadly more common than you'd think.

When we had Lavey open wed see at least one "back yard sinking" a season.

Always a great looking boat. Wonder how people can spend good money on a high end item and destroy it.

Engine and drive should be worth some bux if the stringers and floor are toast and not repairable.

I sent a picture of a buddies car I had bought once after i used a sawzall to make it a convertible. He was pissed. Then I sent another of it chopped into 4 pieces to be recycled. We don’t talk anymore.

Sometimes it’s better to not know where your olds toys went that you spent so much time on….

I heard the sale was pending the hatch ram repairs.
If true it will only get worse from here.
Arrowhead bound.
That lake is horrible for boats.
Worst blistered bottoms I’ve ever seen all came out of that lake.

why is that??

i've seen some props come out of that lake looking like they spent 200 years in salt. What is with that place?

I think it’s a PH issue?
Probably a lot of electrolysis?
Not sure really.
But?
I stand by it.
Worst blisters ever come from that lake.
Only one I’ve seen even close was an Elimimator that sat in a slip at Mead for about a decade.

Story of how I picked up my 247. It's sad to see but it gives opportunity to those of us who otherwise wouldn't, or couldn't spend that kind of coin on a boat.
That's what I was thinking. Sucks, for this boat in particular though. In general though, that's how some of us "come up". Boat or motor needs repair, someone has money but not the skills to redo it, so it gets sold or replaced. A damaged or neglected Schiada is the only way I could get one...and I'd have to put it on a 2 axle trailer as well;)

Last I heard it was at eliminator getting some work done to it. The guy is going to end up selling it but he’s got a loan on it and the numbers don’t work for me..

By the time I replace the interior / floor (and whatever else) it just doesn’t make sense.. (for me anyways).

RD
How much is left on the loan?

Sure would make a good rebuild thread of some sort @RiverDave

Then you could write it all off as a business expense!

Sad to see it in that shape, hopefully someone treats it better.

I wonder if the fact it was full of water was disclosed

I’ve posted on here about gel coat blisters for my Eliminator that sits in Arrowhead from about July to September every year.

In addition to the gel coat issues (i polish and wax the boat every year trying to keep it from getting worse), the green muck on the boat when it comes out smells horrid (I use a product called Slimy Grimy to get rid of the muck before I can even wash it), and my prop won’t even come clean if I soaked it in CLR.

Never had this issue with somewhat shorter term slip use at Havasu. Definitely something about the Arrowhead lake water.

Idk know what you sold it for. But I got a low number in my head. How do you let it fill with water while on a loan?

To me it’s worth about 35 as it sits.. I sold it for 55 plus commission so about 60 total.

I believe the loan balance is in the low 50’s.

Either way.. I would have gone as high as 45 Just for sentimental reasons.. I figured 15 for interior another 12-14’ish for the floor and bulkhead carpet etc.. then another 7 for hydraulic steering then drop in ilmor 635 and be done.. 4/5 on redoing the trailer paint.

That's a hard lesson to learn for the buyer. Even harder to see a nice boat like that all fugged up.

Dave, my man…. You had a $200k+ toon.
Find the Schiada, buy it back and bring it back to its old glory.

Then when you’re done with it, buy the guy a ticket to visit the Titanic.

And I got three minis in various stages of project.

I’m calling Randy to see if he wants to do a collaborative build on a Hallett 210

Such a bummer. I hope I never see Sportin' Wood again. The kid we sold it to loved her even more than we did (original owner's middle son), but who knows what schmuck he sold it to.
