We had dinner at Shogun an hour ago. We saw 3 individual patrol cars (at separate spots) on Sawnson between the restaurant and Acoma. 2 of them we’re off to the side (simi concealed) sitting there watching. Looks like it’s a maximum deployment period.

The Marina was at capacity yesterday and the lake was crowded so I am not sure about fewer people. Every little cove I looked at was taken so the water was busy. Went to the channel last night at 2200 at there is definitely a different crowd out here now. The government money needs to run out and flush some of the trash out of here.

I am at the Carlsbad beach, wife and I put up the volleyball net on the court we were married on (know the hone owners above court). Group of kids started playing, but then grabbed the net and broke it. They all walked away without a word. Wife and I were on the patio of the Robinson House and yelled WTF. Kids yelled back not our so we don’t care. CFD asked us not to put up the net to avoid conflict.

CFD stated, first time in 40 years they have asked the family not to install the net due to crowd behavior

We have watched cities burned and looted unabated for the last two years. What can expect?

I normally would avoid the channel on a holiday weekend but had friends wanting to meet there....we were in the water at 315 am yesterday...

I went to sleep down below...woke up around 6 to these guys...5 slots blocked full DJ setup and no one to be found they showed up briefly and left (we had to push their ski off my boat more than once since they couldn’t each right .

They left early and were gone 4-5 hours showing back up at 2ish...got to watch some fireworks as the older gentleman (pronounced asshole) from Colorado yelled at people to move who has Set up on the beach behind his tents/ropes.

This shit irks my ass...he had 50ft of beach blocked off for half the day and wasn’t even there. I hate the channel and all this stimulus trash...

1st picture I threw that ezup frame up over the wall since nobody was there the whole time I was relaxing with a beer down there. I was pissed about all the abandoned ezup's

I'm not what you'd call a finicky foodie in the least however I have left this place less than impressed on more than one occasion. It is not the first place I suggest or even think about when choosing a restaurant.

Have always had a good time there, decent food just adjust your expectations when going out on a holiday.

Actually, we did find Mohave to be a little rougher this year. Heard about a couple of conflicts and people getting into it. Since Mead is so low, the Vegas trash are coming down onto Mohave and starting shit.

While we are NOT in Havasu, I would have thought yesterday (Sunday) would have been loaded with wake boats and a-hole people all showing their ignorance and stupidity-My mind was prepared for the worst, We launched early, 8am and we were the only ones on the dock (keep in mind, this is not the main marina) I was a bit taken back as there was no one on the lake, The whole day was peaceful, relaxing and the boaters were all being good little boys. A jet or two would scoot on buy and a wake boater would be pulling their kids but it was really pleasant, Getting off the water was just as easy, a few paddle boarders here and there but again, the place was empty. Odd but perfect (Lucky Peak, Idaho)

I can’t find a teppan restaurant cheaper than Shoguns in CA. My local one kicks ass but is 20% more. I like that the portions are good sized and they don’t up charge you for fried rice or sharing a plate.,


I do stick with the chicken and steak though, and don’t get sushi there. Smiths has the best sushi in town

I never expect greatness out of my dining experience in Havasu.

Around 2008Havasu had a different crowd show up. I remember a full gang detail in uniform from Phoenix patrolling the channel. in the coming years that crowd was gone. About 3 years ago I could see the crowd changing again. Let’s hope the place settles down.

2008/09 was the start of things slowing down. I was younger but noticed a type of crowd had disappeared at the river and at the desert. If you had a job and toys the river and desert from 09 to about 17 was a lot of fun. Not to crowded and those people that were there presented themselves well.
I think this round will be worse than before with the social media influences. Exposes a lot of stuff most people wouldn't know about and wipes out those destinations. Like Horseshoe bend. 10 years ago it was a challenge finding where to pull off the highway to hike across. Now you have to pay $20 and deal with a bunch of signs for the privilege to hike to the cliff, which has a handrail now.

Have not been to Shoguns in years. I hear you about Havasu. Headed South at 3:00 in the afternoon and went to the Springs. It was awesome down there. Came back a little after 8:00 and Thompson Bay was a shit show. Weaved our way through boats and people floating in the water to get back to the marina.

At 11:00 pm I could still see a traffic jam of people trying to get off the island from our backyard. That nixed our plans of heading to the channel late with our dogs.

Hopefully the crowds will start to thin today and be pretty much gone by tomorrow.
