After reading a couple other threads. I was wondering how many of us actually plan on boating this weekend. Being that the majority of the group is experienced boaters, life long boaters, people in the industry, and generally not brand new to boating.

Personally, living in the Keys, we will have the Lilly pads in, and paddle boards. Possibly a boat on Monday. Friday to Sunday. No way. Going to the bars, no way. Too many people, too many rookies.

We’ve shopped all week. Going to grab a couple more things tonight, I have a few loose ends to tie up, and then we are going into relax mode.

We're going for it. YOLOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Although, we stay at the islander, so no ramp issues. We'll find a nice place to chill that will be quiet and away from the fools. If not, I'll head back to the pool.

Plan is to head up Saturday and relax. Hit the water Sunday and Monday, head home Tuesday.

Avoid places like Pirates, Topock, Tres Dunes, and the channel.

Double lake adventure. Out to Havasu Thursday/Friday/Sat, back to Arrowhead for Sunday/Monday. Only doing this because I havent brought the boat back to Arrowhead and it was supposed to be last weekend (far better traffic), but wound up this weekend due to availability of family help with the towing/parking.

I'm going to try and keep my cool in the traffic, and I'll plan better next year.

The Landing has a horseshoe tournament on Saturday, which will consume the morning, and we'll consume plenty o beers. They are having a concert Sunday afternoon, so more beers. I could be talked into an early morning breakfast run Sunday, on the water early, off the water by noon. If not, there will always be the weekend after for boating.

We were planning on it, but the kid is still in school so would have to leave Friday and come back Monday....fuck that. I wanted to leave at 4AM tomorrow and stay till next wed....momma won't let it happen, so I'll just stay home and get some work done.

Having access to a private ramp is a game changer. Stayed at the Beachcomber last summer. a busy ramp was two boats waiting to pull

Working in the garage all weekend well if I'm not on puppy duty. I have some custom picture frames I need to finish for someone, so space out my saw and router time to hopefully not piss off the neighbors like I did last weekend.

Definitely not boating!

Starting 1am on the cactus to clouds hike tomorrow. Wife and kids will meet me back at the tram after I summit and come back down. Hike a little with our boys and have dinner at the restaurant. Wife has Bad RA and can’t join me on the hike because of a flare up so I’m going solo.

Then just enjoying the weekend bbqing and having fun at home in canyon lake. We don’t like traveling on any holiday weekends.

I get to work. Maybe try and squeeze in some pool time with the kids if I can.

Right in the middle of the shit show. Got a slip for the weekend. Should be in the channel Saturday to watch the entertainment. Daughter brings her 21 year old friends out and we always give them the full experience. Slip makes it all so much easier to handle. Probably up river one day and down lake the other. Honestly the Marina launch ramp is just as entertaining as the old site 6 days were.

We just pulled the plug on going to the River, can’t remember the last time we missed a Memorial Day weekend. Anyway the Kids all bailed, different reasons, but the final straw was the Wife is not feeling well, so we will go in a week or two.

Wife and I are spending Saturday and Sunday at the Marriott in Gaslamp. So far just have dinner reservations on Saturday night. Rest of the time we are just going to freestyle. Might rent some e bikes and cruise Coronado or something.......who knows. May even hit a club or 2 Saturday and Sunday night.

Anyone have a good spa recommendation for massages??

Where you out of? When I get around to getting my stuff done I’d rather give business to a member
Out of Vegas, I just do small carpentry stuff on the side, so leads times are long and wood is so damn expensive. If you're interested though I will build what you need.

My plans are being sick unless these pills work. Just got back from urgent care. Diagnosed extremely positive flu. Slept 15 hours straight and feel like dog shit.

Going big blue out of SD. Don’t know how far we will go with gas prices. Maybe just take the dingy out bar hoping.

Fishing Friday super early in the skiff. . . then fish & chips later.
Saturday, fishing super early again, then prepping fish for smoking, and surf & turf saturday.
Saturday, set up smoker, detail the truck/ ceramic wax . . . surf & turf BBQ in the afternoon / hang-out session.
Sunday, hangover recovery, fade to final detail on the truck, and couch-loaf.

Personally I’m not even interested in boating this year. I’d rather just book a tee time, golf and go back to the house. I’m realizing how much work it is for such little enjoyment.
If i want to fish, it’s pretty easy to take the truck to the shoreline and not worry about anchoring or the gosh dang surf boats.

Shut the shop down on Friday so everyone has a 4 day weekend, so going to brew a couple of beers while the wife is at work, go to a baseball game in the evening on Friday, and relax with the wife for the rest of the weekend. Pool, beer, cigars, and bbq!!! Haven't done a holiday weekend at the river in over 10 years.

That golf shit can get addictive, especially if you’re playing well.

On Saturday we are throwing a surprise birthday party for my son who will be 40, yes I know I’m getting old at soon to be 66. We are having 35 family members and some friends. On Sunday a friend is passing thru from Florida, owner operator so it will be good to catch up. For those of you that will be boating stay safe and enjoy the long weekend.

Leaving Saturday on the bikes to head up to Utah to tour around the Escalante area by Powell. I’ll stop off in Havasu on wed-fri and get the boat wet for a late Memorial Day celebration after all the crazies clear out.

Boat sat, sun, mon, go home Tuesday. Prolly be at 3 dunes. Maybe pirates on Monday. We will see how busy the lake actually is. I’m betting is busy but not over the tippy top crowded.

Working all weekend and then get to start 3 weeks of vacation on Tuesday. Just in time for the crowd to leave the lake…
We’ll be there Monday thru Saturday or Sunday. Let’s be sure to meet.

Went out on the water this afternoon and found an empty cove. Talk of going out tomorrow as well. Then Friday again. After that who knows? Maybe Sunday. I think Saturday I am just going to plan on walking the channel. Fortunately it is all still new to me and I am willing to put up with it for now. The wife can do without. Oh and as far as Monday that is a BBQ at a friend’s house.

I’ll definitely keep that in mind. 🤣. It’s kinda like the imagine them naked thing but different. It’s crazy how much less stressed i get now vs 5-10 years ago. I’ve seen enough ghosts/dead people that it doesn’t befront me. It’s not a matter of if someone gets got, it’s when. 😬
