People trip when I tell them how much I'm into the Bangles. Mainly, I think it's because most people associate them with their pop hits, and one would assume that's all they are, is a pop band.

Nope. I know Rodney/KROQ was credited with giving them airplay, but I remember hearing them on KLOS 95.5 (rock station). Going Down to Liverpool was the song they played in regular rotation.
