Between the Lines is a great album - the entire thing. Audiophiles use it to test their audio systems; it was also produced well.

I’m back…
Kind of hard to comfortably listen to tunes in camp chairs. We got our new furniture today. We’re beyond happy.

Live, August 5th 1984 Budokan Arena, Tokyo Japan... One of America's finest Metal bands, Queensryche from Seattle, WA... Geoff Tate on vocals, the best there ever was.

I liked Queensryche early to mid 90’s. Didn’t realize they were around before then.

So the baddest speakers for rock type music that I've heard are AR-9's. They literally moved my jeans. But Ar-9's are hard to find and $$$$$$. And they stand over 5' tall.

So I scored a pair of "alternatives" to the AR-9, EpiCure a500's. A guy I went to HS with had them refoamed/rebuilt earlier this year. They are a 4 ohm speaker and stand about 40" high.

They sound awesome...but as expected, not AR-9 level. Still, feeding them 190 watts per channel is not enough. They come alive, but I know there's more than the Yamaha can give them.

All that said too - I am once again impressed by my existing Event 20/20 8" monitors with the bass handled by a pair of 8" powered subs.

Happy as a pig in shit though, these EPI a500 were only produced between 1981-1982. So they are a rare bird. :):)

I love good cover bands:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Little girl down the street is learning keyboards, doing good the kid got talent. She asked the wife to show her how 'Light My fire" is played so been hearing that for the past 2 hours. A bit tricky at first it seems,, then it gets better with practice.

This guy has the best YouTube channel, ever.

My sister invited me to this show, front row tics. But it was on my office day. I'm such a puss lol. But my BIL is on kill 24/7 and whenever we hang out we usually don't get home until the sun starts rising...

Can't wait until they come around again. Looks like all east coast shows thus far, celebrating 50-years of Dark Side of the Moon.

Run Like Hell is breathtaking in person. The suspense, the energy, the music and the laser show. I've seen lot of concerts over the years and Brit Floyd is amongst my favorites.

A friend was once so excited she recognized something I was playing in the car.

She knew them from her spin classes. Ha.

Check out Operation:Mincrime if you haven’t. It’s a concept album and is really good all the way through.

My pops was the epitome of a sad country song. Worked hard for little money, drove beat up pickup trucks, and everything he touched turned to shiat. Lived in Norco. Worse luck ever.

But he drug us kids along to a couple of memorable country gigs.

He met his Bluegrass heroes at Silver Lakes in Norco....Ralph Stanley and Bill Monroe. Yes, Silver Lakes when it was the tiny little fishing lakes. They had a few festivals there, too.

But Disneyland too! They had a little stage below the rockets and we waited for hours to see Doug Kershaw, and the next year Freddy Fender. That had to of been 50 years agai because I'm 56 now.

BTW, there's at least one other bonafide hillbill in this thread....

His name may or may not start with http. Sorry bud :D:eek:

For Kershaw, you really need the visual. It makes no sense to play an album version lol.

Mom and pops saw Haggard at that crappy little country music club off the 55 in Santa Ana. After the show, Haggard was drinking at the bar and was telling everybody to fuck off and to leave him alone. Pops was crushed and my mom still reminds me about what an asshole he was (Haggard, and pops lol). "That Haggard is a tiny little shit."

This is my Uncle Doyle. The first time I heard Merle was with Doyle singing and playing Okie from Muskogee . His daughter, my cousin Missy dated Buck Owens son for a spell. Doyle is gone but the rest of the clan live in Bakersfield. Me, I'm a bonafide Parkabilly. :)

I also saw him there or was it the cowboy boogy. I went one other time to theater in the round and he must of had the flu. ...the bottle flu. So much for no show Jones. :)

That's awesome!

My pops was a ringer for Don Williams. Quite a few people stopped him and asked if it was him; I'm sure he dug it. Those big ass Pork Chops.
