Wife and I went to Europe this past summer and did quite a few flites in Commuter aircraft. We really like them.
Often low and slow, observing the countryside & oceans and lakes with a Guinness part of the enjoyment of the trip.
The ATR 72 from Southampton to Dublin was an experience.
Mid-August Halfway there it went into de-icing mode.
Like flying in a Margarita blender while beaten by the Sledgehammers of hell.
Loved it.
Then we visited family around the USA East Coast.
We flew hops around one hour in the Tecnam 2012.
Flat 6 cylinder piston twin. 10 Passenger.
$36 a person usually.
A really cool aircraft. Fun to fly in.
You can look out the front windshield and the passengers windows are good size and spaced and placed good too.
Steep banking and really fun approaches. Ya really feel like you are flying.
Night time landings impressive.
One version loud, one other version quiet.
Lycoming or Continental powered.
I've always been impressed by those engines and after all these years still in production, still in service and more than ever.
Had de-icing as well.
Nice windows to see the beautiful East coast countryside. Nighttime even better.
Our single seat pilot on a few hops we're told was a 23 year old girl, quite capable.
My 12 year old niece was a hell of a pilot in my uncles Navion. No problems with girls at the yoke.
What planes do you like to fly in?
