Facing public pressure and state lawsuits, the Postmaster general announced Tuesday he is halting some operational changes to mail delivery that critics warned were causing widespread delays and could disrupt voting in the November election.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said he would “suspend” his initiatives until after the election “to avoid even the appearance of impact on election mail.”

The abrupt reversal comes as more than 20 states, from New York to California, announced they would be suing to stop the changes. The states, along with lawmakers and others, want to ensure voters are able to use mail-in ballots if they prefer to avoid polling places due to health risks from COVID-19.

“The Postal Service is ready to handle whatever volume of election mail it receives,” DeJoy said in a statement.

Actually what I want is for everyone that has the legal right to vote has the opportunity to exercise that right. If that right can’t be delivered under this presidency, then we can just add it to the list of failures.
And by vote, you mean early and often.

IDs are for frivolous shit like guns, even though voting for a democrat mayor or governor has a higher chance of killing you.

Gangs, homeless, Covids into nursing homes, poverty and abortion. Solid work there democrats, solid work.

As if there's anything stopping anyone from going to a polling location.
Maybe to satisfy you frightened little cock gobblers they all should be located in in the weed store where it's perfectly OK for you imbeciles to assemble.

I'll bet you're one of the racist pieces of shit in this country that think black folk are too stupid to have an ID as well.

You'd think he'd be more concerned that Cuomo murdered 12,000 Biden voters in NY, now they're going to have to get them to vote from the grave as well.

Likely they will now vote multiple times, so the 12k dead will yield about 40k votes. Early and OFTEN!!

28 Million Mail-In Ballots Went Missing in Last Four Elections

By Mark Hemingway
April 24, 2020
(Kareem Elgazzar/The Cincinnati Enquirer via AP)

Between 2012 and 2018, 28.3 million mail-in ballots remain unaccounted for, according to data from the federal Election Assistance Commission. The missing ballots amount to nearly one in five of all absentee ballots and ballots mailed to voters residing in states that do elections exclusively by mail.
States and local authorities simply have no idea what happened to these ballots since they were mailed – and the figure of 28 million missing ballots is likely even higher because some areas in the country, notably Chicago, did not respond to the federal agency’s survey questions. This figure does not include ballots that were spoiled, undeliverable, or came back for any reason.

Although there is no evidence that the millions of missing ballots were used fraudulently, the Public Interest Legal Foundation, which compiled the public data provided from the Election Assistance Commission, says that the sheer volume of them raises serious doubts about election security.

Someone please.
Explain this to me.
Why is it ok to stand in line at the grocery store, Home Depot, The gas station, the liquor store, the pot store, the gun store! but not a voting booth?

Not all people are standing in line at the grocery store. A lot of people have their groceries delivered to their doorstep, very similar to how mail in ballots are delivered to them. ;)

And a lot of other people do.
Why are you trying to stifle my right to choose?
I thought your party was the party of tolerance?
You don’t sound very tolerant.

There is no reason we can not have safe and efficient voting booths just as there is no reason we can't have safe and efficient mail in voting as they do in most states. We can even have mail in voting only as we do in five states, and despite the arguments by the Trump supporters that it is riddled with fraud, it is all perfectly valid and safe.

People should have the right to choose. That is what makes America Great.

Both sides are simply wrong trying to pitch the ideas that voting in person is unsafe as well as voting by mail is unsafe. Both can be done in perfectly safe and secure ways.

But you knew that. :)

I'm not, you can still go stand in line if you'd like. Why are you trying to stifle peoples right to vote? I know you're not tolerant.

Ask good ol' Harry Raid about opportunity to vote. 2012, 2016, Harry HIRED buses to bus the ILLEGALLY registered ILLEGALS from the masses of the Vegas service's union to vote. He even supplied "Crib sheets" about who to vote for as they exited the bus... The ubber libturd had the juice to bury the story, just like the stories about how HE became the richest man in Nevada while earning only his Senate salary...
Truth be told, on December 1st 2020 we need to wipe the voter rolls clean, empty. Make 2021 the YEAR to re register while requiring PROOF of eligibility to vote...( Unlike Califoney that has 120% of the state's population registered to vote.) Also, make election fraud a mandatory 1 year prison sentence for a single act of fraud, and multiply that by the number of fraudulent acts, be it assistence in registration fraud, or conspirecy to anyway "stuff" a ballot box....This super cleansing of the voter rolls would make the 2024 the first HONEST general election in decades...

Its simple. Voter ID will solve this problem easily but the dems have been fighting it for years. Why? Most know why. For now instead of mail in ballots every state should have a 3 day in person voting system. 1 day for the vulnerable with extra precautions, 2 days for everyone else so noone complains about lines and broken polling stations. Along with absentee ballots. That covers ALL bases. No excuses. Then take the billions that's going to the post office and put it towards VOTER ID for the next election.

Everyone is arguing for nothing. People will still be able to mail there vote in or stand in line, I do think it will be made easier for people to request a mail in ballot. More people will be mailing there vote in this time around due to COVID. Both blue and red people.

To the people who say if you can't go stand in line then you shouldn't vote that is total ignorance. . So many people on both sides have to mail there votes in for a number of reasons.

I for one will, last election I had to stand in line for over an hour. I had to shit so bad!!! I said never again!!! LOL

The issue is not mail in. It’s when the state sends everyone on the rolls a ballot whether valid or not. Last Ca election I got an email letting me know my ballot was in the mail. I have not lived or voted in Ca for 3 years.

Great what is your solution? Do you want the Feds to run elections in each state and county?

No . Let those that want to vote by mail request an absentee ballot . But that would require people to be responsible and the dems know it will hurt them more than the Reps . Blanket mailing to every address in every phone book is a joke .

yes mail in absentee voting already exists, and I have used it in CA.... but you are dumb to believe that it is efficient and accurate...hence why it would be a disaster to implement nationwide, in such short time before a HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEE election lol

I have a customer that worked in the san bernardino location that handles the mailed in absentee ballots and she said they throw away so many ballots due to being slightly damaged, not using the correct color pen, the lines not being drawn accurately etc etc etc, and they never notify the voter, even if your ballot was mailed in way ahead of time.

Mail in voting only works in a handful of states efficiently. Why would anyone agree to let the other states have a free for all on the learning curve???
Also, who trust anyone at the post office? There is a reason for the the phrase "going postal".

That's not what Trump said though, the issue is with universal mail in, with the dirty and out of date voter roles, he explicitly stated no problem with genuine absentee voting by mail. You've been wrong about just about everything for the last 4 years, so par for the course.

Nice try though :)

They are doing the same thing with mail in voting that they have done with illegal immigration. Blur the lines in their language.

True. Characterizing them as"drug dealers, criminals, rapists” doesn’t quite tell the whole story does it.

Dear Fuckwits,

Did the Department of Energy make money last year?

Did the CDC turn a profit?

Are we seeing a reasonable ROI with the military?

Did y'all get your Bureau of Land Management Dividend checks?

Of COURSE not. Because that's not what governments do. Government provide essential services. Like. The. Fucking. Mail.

Shut UP about the cost of the Post Office. It's so essential, it's in the goddamned Constitution.

Respectfully,

Then they should send letters and packages for free...if they aren’t required to sustain themselves, then why do postal rates ever change?

The entities you mention don’t serve the public good by providing a specific service to the public that the public then pays for.

Interesting take on USPS finances...TIL that they abide by rules other government entities do not.

If they played by the same rules as other entities, they’d be “profitable” but would also have significant unfunded pension liabilities.

The only thing to make of it RD is that Dems need the votes of illegals, dead people and anyone not in the registered voting ranks to vote, and the only way to do that is to include ballots in with the Safeway weekly flyer.

Anything else about the USPS is positioning to do mass mail voting. You can tell because the Media pretends “preregistered absentee” voting and mass mailing voting are the exact same thing.

FUCK, anyone else disturbed by yesterday’s undocumented photos from the postal union hack of idle mail sorting machines. It was played up as Trump had them removed. Shit, it was on the NBC nightly news and even Holt said, “these are unproven pictures” but then when ahead with the full accusation story. I'm surprised they didn’t take pictures of mail trucks in the parking lot and accuse Trump of hiding the keys to them. It’s beyond bat shit crazy, Dems are taking it hook line and sinker.
