I was at USCG Base Gloucester City, NJ when those boats came out. We had been running 40' and 30' Utility Boats. (below) When the 41 Footers were built, I, along with my crew, went down to Baltimore for a week and went through the "assembly line", learning how the boats were built from keel laying to launch. We then drove 2 of them back to Gloucester, via the Chesapeake Bay, C&D Canal and Delaware Bay & River. Awesome trip. The difference between the boats were night and day. From an open-air control station, with only a radio and depth finder, to an enclosed (heated) cabin, radar, advanced electronics, etc.
