I have a young aggressive cardiologist. He has run every test imaginable. Carotid artery ultrasound, Ultrasound the big artery down your gut , treadmill. I keep a journal of BP cuz when I go in office it’s high. At home it’s 120’s over 70’s. I had a stint in LAD (widow maker) 2 years ago. Cardiologist 100% attributes to 40+ years of smoking.

I took an aspirin this morning and my blood pressure went down, but now it’s on the rise and quickly.

last checked two minutes ago was 179/117, so I’m off to the hospital to get this under control.

That diastolic 117 is scary.
My doctor took mine once and 189/104 he almost had the heart attack for me.
Had to take it again to make sure.

The random chick from the hydration place told him not to worry, it is probably all because of dehydration. Then she asked for RD's credit card to pay for hydrating him while he sat there with a brain aneurysm receiving said hydration.

Speaking of raising my blood pressure.. lol

you realize the “random chick” or chicks are all nurses that work for the same hospital that I am at..

Since I have been in this hospital I have Seen four nurses doing various things from ekg, to a different type of heart monitor, to an x ray, and finally an exam from a nurse practitioner..

Many of these same nurses also do mobile iv’s as well and some even work for destination hydration. Lol

the point I am making is don’t discount what they have to say.. they are the same people that work in the hospital.

Long story short as for the vertigo the exam revealed that I had some inflamed sinuses so they believe it is a nasal / upper respiratory infection I am getting over.

They did several tests with raising one leg then the other and basic stroke type tests no symptoms..

they did an eye test similar to a cop field sobriety and said my eyes are stigmatized and bouncing which is a sign of vertigo as well.

They are looking at heart stuff now and blood pressure.. The numbers dropped significantly from when I left my house until I got here.

Right now it’s 157/79..

I am going to purchase another BP machine just to ensure I’m not getting false high readings.

The other side of the coin is true as well.. Don't discount what that nurse is saying at her day job in the hospital, not her side hustle nursing hangovers.

I'm curious which one of the 4 nurses you saw put you on another IV and said you are just dehydrated and not worry about losing your faculties over the course of 2 days? Sounds like none of them so far?

This shit is serious man, you have a family. Don't screw around with this stuff, get your health right. Hope all is ok.

Ive done that twice. Passed out. Hit my head. Its no fun to wake up on the floor with your face covered in blood wondering where you are. I did lots of tests. Wore a heart monitor for a week. Turns out when Im laying down sleeping, my blood pressure gets low, if I get up too fast I can pass out. I have to sit up first. Mostly at night before I get up to pee or whatever. Thats when it happens to me.

if you drink Gatorade for the electrolytes mix it with 50/50 with water it thins it and thus get into your body system faster

Pedialyte is another good choice after a night of WHOOP WHOOP .....

Not sure downing a bunch of sodium and potassium is good for high blood pressure.

All I know is if I registered a 178/117 I wouldn’t call the hydration nation, a tarot card reader or a chiropractor, that’s your computer throwing a code that something is wrong.

As for RD, do what they ask. Follow up with your doctor, and start getting a plan together. Your kids are younger than mine, so this race needs to be far from done for either of us. Ive done it from the kitchen table as well. It happens a couple of times a year. I usually get dizzy and don’t pass out. The times I’ve gone out have been bad. I hit my head hard, once left a nasty scar on my forehead. The other cracked my head open in the back of my head. Its scary as fuck when it happens.

I’ve got a forehead scar as well. It’s insane how much you bleed when you crack your head open. After it happened I walked across the street to my neighbors and asked them to give me a ride to the hospital. When I lifted the rag off my head the husband almost fainted when he saw how f*cked my head was.

Let that be a lesson to the officers apparently You don’t have to be drunk to have that, just a sinus infection.. (that again I didn’t even know I had)

They did an ekg, another heart monitor test they watch, they took blood and did a chest x ray..

The treatment at the Lake Havasu Hospital was fast efficient and first class as any place I have ever been (nicer actually).

All tests came back good.. All the blood work actually came back better than it ever has (I have lost some weight) l. Sugar levels even though I ate an hour earlier were normal.

my blood pressure was completely normal the entire time at the hospital. They think my home blood pressure machine is messed up / reading way high.

either way vertigo is scary shit..


I have never experienced anything like that in my life.

My old man gets vertigo occasionally. Scary shit, it’s sent him to hospital more than once. The neck exercises don’t work for him. He ends up over a trash can throwing up for hours unable to get up. Dramamine helps a bit if he can keep it down.

Glad all is good. Vertigo, from what I have felt at least, is like "bed-spins" from my teens (I identified as being 21...)
I have had it happen about three times in the past two years. Twice were quick onset, quick recovery. They were maybe 2-3 minutes. One time was different, not as extreme, but lasted a few days. Really hard to function. I have tinnitus, and believe it was somehow tied to that. A friend told me to look up some weird "inner ear alignment" thing online. Lay flat, turn your head, sit up type deal. That fixed it for now at least.
