Nope, it's not about skin color, it's going to be about religion. Yup, us Christians need to stick together and it would be one hell of a Muslim Fucking Squad!

Pretty sure this whole thread screams skin color.

Well that and no matter what, some people will always make it Obama's fault.

Nah, Obama has no dog in this fight...right...
With his words alone, he has already pre-empted a riot, let alone a decision.

I won't comment on this thread, but I take the whole controversy as being a fight for our right to defend ourselves. If someone tries to hurt me or my family with what I feel is deadly force, I want the ability to provide them with their death. I do not want to be fearful of a manslaughter case and ending up in jail for trying to defend myself.

Hey, Charlton Heston played Moses, Zimmerman can play a white dude...
It doesn't matter, Country is so divided now anything can qualify as a racial construct.
And THAT is directly a result of O.

We have to stick together right?

Me, holder, O and shabazz. That's one hell of a white folk fucking squad right there.

Honest question.....Do you defend Shabazz's public statements of hate?

Not going to say I defend it.

Freedom of speech though. He as well as everyone American is able to speak freely.

Here is what I don't get

( and no I'm not starting anything just trying to understand a thought process)

For years there has been racism towards blacks, still is today. Now we have a person who is turning the table and declaring racism towards the white man. Why is it wrong?

Now before any of you get all fired up I'm asking a valid question as to why one is acceptable to some people and the other is frowned upon.

The way I'd answer this is, two wrongs don't make a right. Racism is wrong, regardless of who is doing it. It was wrong before, and it's wrong now. This Shabazz guy is no better than a klan member.

They want racism to stop against them (whether real or just perceived or even just convenient). But then want to be racist (often referred to as reverse racism). It is hypocritical. Most of the white people today had nothing to do with racism of yesterday. I'm not racist at all. In fact, my dad emberrassed me the other day with a public comment he made about when he was young. He was just trying to tell a story, but the words he used and the delivery made me thing...holy crap, my dad is a bit of a racist! It is not that he hates anyone, but he definitely has some stereotypical beliefs going on.

Probably the thing that "whitey" suffers from today is that most of us don't care about skin color and we work at places and hang with people that think/act the same way. Racism is out there, but we don't experience it hardly at all, and we definitely don't participate in it or condone it. But, we may not understand how it is still an issue - calling us racists is a good way to be told to fuck off. When we see groups openly and actively targeting whites, it actually is fuel to help white people not only not care about the racism that is still out there, but could turn a percentage into racists....therefore, the reason it is wrong, is it creates more problems than solves them. Some people profit by keeping racism alive..and will do so at every opportunity.

Now if you don't mind, it is time for me to attend arts and crafts at Nazi Camp.

As far as we've come, at least whites and blacks can still agree to hate the Jew.

He's worse then the Klan.. At least the Klan had some kind of logic to their hate.

Racism is wrong, period. Wrong and for the most part based in ignorance. That someone else was doing it doesn't make it OK to do now...

Blacks have had it bad in America for hundreds of years. The were initially stolen from their homes and brought here as slaves. The opposite of Freedom. The opposite of opportunity.

Once here, they were, by station, 100% dependent upon others for their survival. With no income, or means to succeed themselves, they were only able to live where housing was provided, eat what was provided and work where they were told to, doing what someone else wanted them to.

Then they were freed. With zero skills for making real profit, no literacy, no education... No role models to speak of and a long history of broken families, as it was very common to break up slave families. In fact, slave wedding vows said specifically "Until death or distance do us part". Not an awesome legacy for greatness.

This group of people were looked down upon by basically every other group of people (primarily white) as being inferior... If not genetically, then certainly intellectually. No way around that history... It is what it is.

And it meant that during that period, literally every black person you could meet, with almost no exception was going to be poor, illiterate, uneducated and probably desperate. They probably also all pretty much hated white folk.

Fast forward 20 years and you are in the 1900's already. 40 more years and you have a generation, our parents generation, who's parents could have owned slaves!!! In that period, one generation, the black man in America had begun the process of becoming educated, becoming literate... But these folks all had extremely austere roots, and recently enough to remember clearly.

Our generation was born less than ten years after the end of blatant segregation. Literally, black and white water fountains. Ten years.

To understand this is to understand racism. Blacks had to work their way out of the worst possible starting scenario. The worst possible environment.

Racism towards blacks has never been right.. But it is understandable intellectually. Though we are all humans, it is very easy to see how people would find it easy to discriminate against a person based merely on the color of their skin, as it wasn't the skin color that was being discriminated against, but rather the almost certain level of education, experience and opportunity that it indicated.

Imagine if every person with a Masters Degree had some visual indicator... Like all had a red and blue and green stripe on their face, and everyone with a Bachelors had just a blue and green stripe, and high schoolers had just green, and no stripe meant no education at all. Would you treat them differently?

I would.

The discrimination you see today toward whites isn't warranted in the same way that the discrimination toward blacks was. In my opinion, the latter was based in reality at some level. It was likely that there was going to be some element of accuracy in the racial bias toward the intellectual background and experience of a black guy in 1900.

Today's anti-white racism seems based on hatred, and whether that is derivative of previous generations slave ownership is up for debate... But nobody today has ever owned slaves... So basing your judgment on me on that metric is absurd.

Now before any of you get all fired up I'm asking a valid question as to why one is acceptable to some people and the other is frowned upon.

So... To answer your question... In today's world, racism is wrong by any party. In the generations past, it may have had some basis in the reality of the world we lived in, but no longer.

Makes perfect sense to me Wes. But to many others, it doesn't.

People need to get over racism, and stop using it as a crutch. It is out there, and it is never going away. Every ethnicity has it's racists, so it's not like its just a white/black thing. The best thing we can do is not play in to it and add fuel to the fire.

As far as the pathetic panthers first ammendment right, he gave up his right to protection under the constitution as soon as he made public threats of violence/ harm to people and their property. He is ignorant and people like him only further expand ther gap between races. I find it disturbing that americans need to seperate themselves into groups....african american, mexican american and so on. I dont call myself an english american, I am an American, fuck the rest of the PC we are all special in different ways crap. The thought and practice that every race, creed, ethnicity needs a day/month or some special recognition has turned the melting pot back into seperated ingredients.

Liked how his Atty brought out the small slab of concrete representing a sidewalk and then left it there after he completed his final argument...

According to the defense, it should be any minute as long as jury thinks there was the slightest chance Zimmerman feared great bodily injury prior to pulling the trigger!

So when will we hear the outcome?

It will take at least a few hours to go over the jury instructions and choose a foreman, after that, it will likely be fairly quick.
They are saying as soon as this evening.

Welcome to the board Tom.. 1st I've heard of any of that? I have to admit I haven't been following the trial to closely, because honestly I could care less if some criminal black kid gets shot by a neighborhood watch guy..

Yep...

Personally, I think Z should be acquitted, but, he's gonna wind up guilty of a lesser charge.

How are 6 women a "jury of his peers"?

But, anything less than murder2 will be rioting...

I haven't really followed the case much, but wasn't Zimmerman beat up pretty good? If he was and had access to a gun for self defense seems logical that he might not be guilty to me.

I wish he would get a fair trail. A trial to prove guilt or innocent, right or wrong. Instead, it's a circus with the actual murder charge at the bottom of the list.

Pretty much.

But, it will be in the name of street "justice".
Innocent people that have nothing to do with any of this.

There will also be a "sale" on big screen tv's...

x2 i read that the defense was trying to include some of his texting records talking about guns and drug sales, not sure where i read it but the judge ruled it out for evidence

What is disturbing the media keep repeating Zimmerman weight vs Trayvon's. The original video with Zimmerman at the scene shows an average build guy, not the 200+ GZ is now.To me a 17 yr old athletic build KID like Trayvon had the upper hand over a wimpy guy like Zimmerman. A 17 yr old is just a year shy to be a soldier , don't call them a child, it's absurd. I had class mates in grade 8, were fully developed phisically, two of them became olympic gold medalists to boot. They could beat the crap out of the phys ed teacher;). Frankly ,I think Zimmerman shit his pants when Trayvon started punching him in the face.
Not saying shoot to kill someone pummeling you is justified , but Zimmerman could have easily got killed himself if he was hit at the temple of his head. He'll get charged with manslaughter, IMO.

I've been basically watching the entire trial, and IMO the judge has been VERY biased to the prosecution.

I think that there is a lot of underlying political motivation in all this.

Fair trial, my ass.

A 15 yr old that goes out and shoots someone gets tried as an adult.

A 17 yr old that gets shot in an altercation is a child.

Interesting how that works, isn't it?
