Thought you were a lawyer??

That is a member of the Black Panthers, stationed outside a polling center in Philly (I believe it was Philly?) during the 2008 election.

They were present to intimidate, or try to anyway, Whites from voting...or from voting against O.

Many of us participated in a virtual and constant attack on an off shoot of their website, I myself got banned and re-registered 9 times in one day.
The emails I got...or rather an "alter ego" got, from the Army Shabazz were extremely violent and threatening.

The site eventually went under when it was posted that they were not able to raise the $350.00 to make a monthly website payment.

I actually suggested to "Shabazz" that I would make the payment just so I could continue to profile and harass them...He declined in a fit of rage!:eek;)

I am an attorney; however, I don't proof read my posts before hitting send/reply. Furthermore, I am horrible with commas. ;)

I can't really make out the picture. But sounds pretty ballsy to poke a bunch of angry people. But, it's ironic that Black Panthers would intimidate people from voting...hmmmm how quickly people forget history.

Who goes by the name Shabazz? WTF????

Kinda sounds like what this Zimmerman guy did.

Junkie, I'm not sure if you heard about what happened here in Vegas recently, but it was something similar. There was a fight in valet at the cosmo that led to a shooting on las vegas blvd. The father of the rapper that was shot and killed hit a taxi and killed more innocent people. The father of this rapper said he was a saint, and a hard worker. Turns out he had a record for tons of things, including being a pimp, but he is dead now.

Not a lawyer here either but I don't think the prosecution can change from 2nd degree murder charges to manslaughter without the defense agreeing to it. And from what i've watched of the trial why would they. They haven't proven anything, in fact many of their witnesses hurt their case IMHO. He walks and let the riots begin.

I don't think the prosecution is giving a case without a reasonable doubt.... but I doubt he gets acquitted.

im guessing manslaughter...

I aren't a lawyer, but I didn't think the prosecution (state) could change the charge mid-trial and I don't think a jury can decide on what charge to convict, at least without instructions from the judge. He's claiming self-defense, so the prosectution has to prove that it wasn't for a murder conviction , and for manslaughter. I haven't watched the whole thing but I don't think they've done that from what I've gathered.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some political pressure to offer a manslaughter or some other lesser charge before this goes to the jury.

I think the story is wrong on that point, but maybe not. Where's a criminal lawyer when you need one? :D

If other big cities start rioting LA might. I don't think LA would start rioting as soon as the not guilty verdict is called. LA would more or less start rioting once other big cities start going at it. Just my opinion. TO answer Wicky's question, Yea I would be ready to protect my property and life

I have not been following to closely but do read the high lights on the news. This should never have gone to trial in my opinion and most likely will lead to acquittal or at very least hung jury. What bothers me is that the judge sure seems to be doing everything she can to aid the prosecution in her rulings before and during the trial. She said that none of Martins background history or pics of him with a gun, smoking weed etc...could come in yet the prosecution goes in depth into Zimmermans background and classes he took about LE and firearms training etc...The judge just reversed one of her earlier rulings that prevented the defense from bringing the coroners report showing Martin had MJ in his system. Prosecution introduced the coroners report and put him on the stand yet redacted the toxicology finding out. Not sure why this was allowed but someone must have informed the judge that she was wrong so now she has reversed her earliler ruling and is letting it in. Defense expected to be done by Wednesday so closing arguments Thursday and I bet the jury comes back by Friday afternoon with a verdict on this one.

Often times motions are filed during the proceedings and they are heard/argued outside the presence of the jury. So a ruling can be changed based on case law that was presented related to the ruling and the judge will change his/her ruling to be consistent with precedent so as not to be later overruled during appeal and be consistent.

Listen, I'm not saying this Zimmerman guy is innocent or guilty. I think you're misunderstanding me on this. All I meant was his story was he shot the kid in self defense. What really happened I have no fucking idea.

I'm concerned that if he gets acquitted more people are going to run around shooting people that make them feel uncomfortable by there mere presence.

Did you actually type this with a straight face, Brown is more discreet with his trolling :D

I was thinking the rioting would be in New York, LA, and Chicago...hopefully not Vegas. Actually, I hope there is no rioting anywhere but, I have my doubts if it is a Not guilty verdict.

I think you're right on with this assessment. The scumbag had no problem commenting about this trial as it was ongoing, but he couldn't comment on the abortion doctor from Philly, while that was ongoing. Here is an idea fuck face, keep your inept trap shut regarding ALL ongoing trials, including your son's. :rolleyes

Read up a little on this today. Florida has not adopted the sliding scale standards in criminal judicial proceedings. If they had the jury could convict on a lesser charge if they feel the evidence doesn't supports Murder 2 but also doesn't support out right acquittal. Because Florida has not followed these guidelines there is no way for the jury to convict for manslaughter, it's all or nothing on Murder 2.

Yes it doesn't matter to them. If there's a chance of getting a free TV or a clock radio they're all in.

Honestly. They will riot either way. If he is convicted it will be called a celebration. If he is aquitted it will be called a riot.

Either way all they do is fuck up their own neighborhoods.

Yes these motions are presented and argued out of the presense of the jury but judges do not typically make a ruling and then change their rulings once they are made. They usually hear the arguments and take it under summation which then gives the judge time to review current case precadent on the area and make a ruling consistent with that current case law.

Found it funny that she is blocking the defense again. 3D animation reconstruction vids are often used in trials but not allowed for Zimmerman. Most likely due to the fact that the prosecution does not have one of their own to counter the defense version of the incident.

I'm not sure what the process is in any other state I'm only a licensed attorney in CA and we can file a motion for reconsideration with the same judge who made the ruling before filing an appeal. If the judge's initial ruling is in fact inconsistent with precedent they may change their ruling.

I agree and have seen it done in court before it just is not a very common occurrence in my opinion. Typically a judge will defer ruling on a motion after he/she hears arguments or reads the briefs if they want to take sometime and research the area prior to making a ruling so that their decision is consistent with case law. They often quote the case law as they are gving their subsequent ruling on the motion(s). This doesn't prevent a motion for reconsideration of course. I would speculate that judges do not like to admit that they made a mistake and change their rulings unless they know for sure it was obvious may be reversed on appeal anyway.

I just feel this judge is leaning way towards the prosecution side. Now Florida law may have specific differences from Cali law of course in certain areas but just in looking at the leeway she has given the prosecution into bringing up Zimmermans education, training and background while not letting any of Martins come into the court for the jury seems lopsided to me. She also did not want any part of the toxicology report from the autopsy introduced by the defense initially.

Smart move.

I get the impression that he would get eaten alive by the prosecution if he took the stand.

Guess who was organizing anti-Zimmerman protests after the shooting?
Yup, the Justice Department.
That's what happens when we're ruled by a community organizer.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-...rtment-in-organizing-trayvon-martin-protests/

(Washington, DC) - Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained documents in response to local, state, and federal records requests revealing that a little-known unit of the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Community Relations Service (CRS), was deployed to Sanford, FL, following the Trayvon Martin shooting to help organize and manage rallies and protests against George Zimmerman.

Set up under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the DOJ's CRS, the employees of which are required by law to "conduct their activities in confidence," reportedly has greatly expanded its role under President Barack Obama. Though the agency claims to use "impartial mediation practices and conflict resolution procedures," press reports along with the documents obtained by Judicial Watch suggest that the unit deployed to Sanford, FL, took an active role in working with those demanding the prosecution of Zimmerman.

On April 15, 2012, during the height of the protests, the Orlando Sentinel reported, "They [the CRS] helped set up a meeting between the local NAACP and elected officials that led to the temporary resignation of police Chief Bill Lee according to Turner Clayton, Seminole County chapter president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People." The paper quoted the Rev. Valarie Houston, pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church, a focal point for protestors, as saying "They were there for us," after a March 20 meeting with CRS agents.

"These documents detail the extraordinary intervention by the Justice Department in the pressure campaign leading to the prosecution of George Zimmerman," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "My guess is that most Americans would rightly object to taxpayers paying government employees to help organize racially-charged demonstrations."
