I’m actually on vacation now! Won’t be back to work till next Tuesday, then on for 3, and off for another 11 days! M
I do feel pretty greedy about it, may sign up for some OT during my next vacation.

I just walked out the front door of my house in Corona to get the mail and said to myself, "I either just became directionally challenged and that's the Line Fire but also somehow closer... or we gots a new fire."

Just saw on FlightRadar24 that they have a 737 dropping Phos-Chek on the Airport Fire in Trabuco. Didn't know they had a 737!

Walk out the backyard and look right, Bridge Fire in San Gabriel Mountains.

And to the left, Airport Fire in Trabuco.

Love me some maps. So FlightRadar, CalFire, and AlertCalifornia are great. I knew I hadn't seen that plane around.

The DC10 is hitting the Bridge Fire.
pretty good air show in southern CA

Yeah, somewhat comforting to see all of the resources SoCal has even when there are 3 highly active fires.

Wonder if the story of how the fire started at the RC Airpark is going to be publicized ? Flying planes into the brush on 100+ degree days perhaps ??

The pilots running the big water drop planes have brass balls and the skills to back 'em up. It's gotta be like taking a 1958 chrysler imperial around a road course having competitive lap times with a Z06 corvette...and they get it done.

I saw on the news that LA County just got the two Canadian super scoopers back. I hope by using them on the Bridge fire, that frees up the big planes to go assist the Line fire and the Airport fires.

Thanks. Those transmitters on the ridge are similar to where Glendora Mtn road transitions into Glendora Ridge Rd ending at Mt Baldy.

From my Back yard in Mission Viejo. My daughter's boyfriends family live about 10 houses up from Trabuco Oaks Steak house. They are fully packed and ready to go.

These pics are 20 min old, standing on top of my backyard's block wall.

I have seen there is a massive buildup of fire bombers at San Bernardino International (SBD), the old Norton ADB, as well as at Hemet, to battle the Trabuco Canyon Fire (the Airport fire) and the “Line“ fire San Bernardino. Hope they can bring these under control.

That’s the Airport fire in Trabuco canyon afaik.
Its a model airplane self sponsored air strip. Those folks that fly there are really into what they do. Did it start from their use? Nothing said so far.

We are near Hemet Ryan Airport. We always know when there is a fire.

News said it was public works crews moving boulders that started it. And to top it off they tried to put it out initially with hand held extinguishers.

Hmm, maybe get everything wet first?

Does it seem to be going more up and over the peak or down towards Santa Margarita Dove Canyon, Mission Viejo etc.
