A Bug-A-Salt, what do I win?

My brother did some design work on that back in the day and sent me a few of them. Fun at first but the first one broke easily. Heard they got better on newer revisions

What’s the difference between an AR -15 and a 10?

You got to add a pistol caliber AR platform to the list. They are a lot of fun.

ar15 is .223/5.56 ar10 is .308/7.62 (usually, I want an ar10 in 6.5 creedmor)

I think I just figured out the next gun to add to my collection. Number 10 could be an AR-10.

My buddy got me one for Christmas. It's fun and pretty fun to hunt the bugs but it wasn't as effective as I thought it would be.

What make is it?

Putting it together with Patrick the owner of Against All Enemies on main street at 3:30 if you want to go. :)

Going to zero it in at some point when the weather doesn't suck so bad, and I get my SXS fixed.

Let me know when you go to the range? Would love to go and get more range time.

Dave I have a ar10 as well. Alamo lake rip with them.

I also have a sub 4lb ar-15 that shoots like a 22 and faster then a full auto gun.

I have too many guns right now.

View attachment 664009 Mine are ready to go and already zero'd at 300yd. Lol. Scope has already been added on.

The one I am building will supposedly be accurate to 1300 yards..

When the guy asked what I wanted I told him “I want to drive on this mountain over here and set up at target and then drive over that mountain over there and shoot it”. Lol

That is the reason for the 26" barrel. Accuracy at 1500yd. Since I'm in the military I make sure my toys are compatable so I don't have to buy different accessories when using the 2.

That isn’t easy to do even with the best equipment.

I’ve been told, troops prefer AR10. 1 shot and it’s goodnight.

Does it come with a trigger man? At 1300 yards, you will see your heartbeat through the scope, and it will cause move on the target

Coriolis effect is the rotation of water, you are thinking of how the rotation of the earth plays into long range shooting and I think it starts right around 1500 yards.

Edit: they do call it coriolis on the bullet, the couple shows I watched called it something else. But rotation of the earth plays into it as well.

haha my thoughts exactly.

Once you start getting out past 600 yards, each 200 yards seems to be a new "level". I didnt see you mention a caliber, but since you said 1300 yards i'm assuming your talking about 6.5 creedmoor. 308 is a bit ballistically challenged past 1000 yards. Perfect storm type scenario you can certainly do some damage out past 1000 yrds, but its way suboptimal, even with some tuned up hand rolls. If you're at at the point where you're pressing your own ammo, you might want to look at some 165gr federal gold medal match. I personally like the 175gr load in my Remington 700, but you wont get the distance of the 165gr

What sort of glass are we talking about?

I built this PA-65 Palmetto 6.5 Creedmoor for $450 shipped.

IMG_0029.JPG

And by built, I mean put two pins into the already-complete upper and lower.

It’s a PSA 308 complete lower and a PSA 6.5 Creedmoor complete upper.

“Almost MOA” accuracy will be more than enough for plinking hogs within 150 yards. 1-inch-ish groups at 100 yards is good enough for what I’m gonna use it for.

Glass is mediocre Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42...will be fine out to 400-500 yards, methinks.

Got the glass, NIB, from another forum for $260. So all-in, I’m at $710 including glass. I think this is my cheapest rifle LOL

We’ll see...been so busy with the new job and house, I haven’t shot it yet LOL
