Dave, just keep in mind the farther out you reach the heavier your gun gets, mine is way to heavy to carry around and is more of a prone or a bench gun, meaning you either lay down and shoot or rest it on a table and sit in a chair and shoot, the second option is way more fun!!

Bigger guys have a harder time laying flat prone behind the gun, right leg, if right handed, needs to be moved up to relieve the air way and pressure to be more relaxed.

I put a thread in the gun section. Going to go shoot it Sunday locally and then start reaching out. The only real long range out here is in kingman so after we get it dialed in we will run up there and give it a go and get familiar with it. :)

“Spin drift”...

Coriolis effect is the rotation of water, you are thinking of how the rotation of the earth plays into long range shooting and I think it starts right around 1500 yards.

Edit: they do call it coriolis on the bullet, the couple shows I watched called it something else. But rotation of the earth plays into it as well.

It’s earths gravitational pull (due to spinning) combined with the bullets “spin” (due to barrel rifling, LH or RH) that causes it to “walk” at longer distances.

It’s pretty crazy math and physics when you get out past 1500.

That's it, maybe rifling drift but yes drift

Bushnell? WTF

Swaro, Kahles or Nightforce.

Always the response when people check the tag on the "right" glass. If you want a budget scope, that Vortex Razor HD is a really good bang for the buck. Next step above that would be maybe a US Optics or a Steiner

What scope do you have on that rem 700 sps?

Its a Barska 4-16x50. It doesn't have the best reviews but I can tell you that it works for me at 1000yd with 500 rounds and hasn't steered me wrong yet, although I do baby that scope a little too. The AR10 I have a Redfield mounted and that takes some abuse and keeps on ticking. Lol.

Gotta build a 7.5” in .223 or 9mm it’s not as accurate obviously but I’ll tell you i have ten times the fun with my pistols than my rifles. Once my hearing protection stamp passes I’ll be going for my sbr stamp
