NBC host Chuck Todd kicked off a full hour of discussion about Climate change on Sunday by telling "Meet the Press" viewers that there would be no debate over the topic - as the "science is settled."

"We’re not going to debate climate change, the existence of it. The Earth is getting hotter. And human activity is a major cause, period," said Todd. "We’re not going to give time to climate deniers. The science is settled, even if political opinion is not."

Rat boy Chuck Turd has declared!!! hahaha

How deep was the ice where you live 10,0000 or 5, 000 ago ? The earth has been going through cycles for eons and we may or may not have influenced by the he process.
What makes you so sure you are correct on this ?

You stupid Socialist fucks can’t figure out how keep nations from starving to death, but you’re able to determine what happened millions of years ago?

hahahaha that’s my question turd!!!

Wonder if they realize that eventually, with or without the human species, earth will eventually be turned into a mars like planet strictly due to the finite life of our sun. As is the case with any sun.

I could list a whole bunch of formula showing the increase in the suns output, and it’s eventual decline extrapolated out over measurable time but what’s the point?

I will Grant you it is warmer now than when I was young as our winters in the pnw have mellowed, but then again we've only been here a couple hundred years.
I live in an area where evidence of the recurring Bretz floods can be seen daily.
The earth changes, and the climate has and will regardless what us dumb mortals think or do.

Venus is the better example. As I understand it, Mars lost its magnetosphere as a result of a cooling core and without a magnetosphere solar winds tore away most of its atmosphere. Venus on the other hand has a high C02 atmosphere and underwent runaway global warming, so much that it is now hotter and more hellish than Mercury (despite Venus being further from the sun). We may be doomed to follow in Venus’ path because in just a century we have converted 200 million years worth of fossil fuel back into CO2- that rate of change is unprecedented in Earths history.

I’d love to see the math showing the degenerative process that = “200 million years worth of fossil fuel”

What does that even mean, specifically? Is it the time weighted average of decay on a control group of specific size? Is it a volume of “fuel” (which is actually a man made product of crude, discounting NG)
Is it a number representative to the amount of fuel we have burned in a century, reverse calculated with a control factor of a centuries worth of what we have recovered?
It’s a statement that has no mathematical basis, as it is formulated on variables rather than constants. In other words, it’s entirely speculative. I’m not saying it’s “wrong”, but it has zero provable basis.
Math and numbers and calculations do not lie. The lie is in how we arrive at the numbers.
Is “200 million years” worth of fossil fuels a volume? A measure of time? A measure of usage? A measure of decay?
No....it’s not a statement that reflects any sort of mathematical basis or scientific backing. It’s a humdrum conundrum of the highest order.

That is, with all due respect, the type of ambiguity that is the hallmark of the entire MMGW “science” database.

You my friend have attempted to reason with an idiot.....But you already knew that.:D

You work daily with the planet and understand it's geological structure and the power of Mother Nature. Papaw spends his days surfing the internet for nonsensical speculations that back his fantasies.....It's that simple.;)

Hey here's an idea.....why don't we continue working on and improving our environment and emissions here at home, and buy goods ONLY from other countries that follow in good stewardship. If widgets are mode in Country "X" via reckless non-acceptable environmental standards....those widgets are forbidden in our market....plain and simple. Otherwise, country "X" must clean up their OWN messes and meet established standards in order to trade with the U.S. and the other world players. If country "x" has no market and no demand and they will simply cease to produce those widgets...... thus problem solved....Co2 and other harmful emissions will cease as well.

Providing revenues to entice countries to meet standards is nothing more than funding Globalism in disguise....... and we are NOT the world's EPA and should not be.

U.S.A. should continue our efforts here at home and lead by example....not by pumping out and foolishly giving away our dollars.

Don't forget the data is "cooked" for that current uptick.

What the idiots handlers have done is use temperatures from urban heat sinks to make their asinine temp increase claims.
The location for the weather data used in my area was moved to an urban heat sink years ago. High rises in a concentrated area with reflective roofs, reflective glass and asphalt parking lots.

Given Fahrenheit did not invent the first thermometer until 1709, and paper was not invented until about 105AD, how did they record temperatures 4,600 million years ago in the precambrian era?

I also wonder given that the first tangible link to man is only about 6 million years ago, unless of course you are christian in which case it is only a few thousand years, who recorded the temps 4,600 million years ago?

It's very confusing...... :D

The “discussion” I’ve heard on this “global warming/climate change” topic seems to me to be another example of partisanship. Folks seem to be so rooted in their opinion they can’t see the common ground and then move forward from there. Hell, they can’t even agree to disagree!
A few years ago after OBL was removed, the DIA made public a large amount of his writings. I read quite a few of these documents (always with great skepticism) and found that OBL, in most instances, seemed to have a logical take on things.
Take his paper on climate change. In short he says Mother Nature is more powerful than all the armies of man and to presume man can alter nature is the epitome of arrogance. Instead of arguing about the climate, realize what IS happening and the consequences of that. THEN accept what is in mans power so they can adapt to this change by storing food, water etc and build so as to care for the people.

They've done this in Phoenix, yet many of the recorded temp records are still in the early days of Phoenix. Must have been the Indians.

And this would equate to looking our your window in the morning for .05 sec and claim that is enough data to predict the weather for that day. :D

Used to be able to pull the record highs off of weather sites, no so easy anymore.

Which is sort of what I’m talking about concerning the statement that “200 million years worth of fossil fuel” was used up in the last century.

It’s stuff like that that decloaks the MMGW agenda for what it is.

That is an incalculable statement...which makes the conclusion (assumption) 100% invalid. This is an example of the so called “science” that the sheep consider gospel.

The unfortunate side affect...which is so often the end result from the actions of the left...is that true and real problems get lost in the wake of their crusading.

There is absolutely real environmental issues that constantly need addressed and managed, but with the sheep you either are on board with the full blown MMGW agenda or you are a planet killer.

They do this shit with every single topic they are fed by the msm.

You either hate trump with a passion, or you are a Trumpkin nut swinger. (Know what I mean Vern?)

They march out women claiming they’ve been violated by their (now) political enemies, while meanwhile very real abuse is happening to women not on the TV.

If you want a border wall, your a racist who hates families and wants to kill babies at the border.
Meanwhile in San Diego alone the kidnapped sex slave trade for teens and young women from south of the border is at an all time high. Where are these crusaders?

Are a single one of them volunteering to try to rescue a single victim??

No...they are busy protesting for the rights of the fucking criminals and killers that run the fucking show.

They seriously can’t think past the end of their own noses.

LOL,

You mean sort of like the oft repeated belief by you and your buddies in here that if one is not for an 80 foot tall solid concrete wall 2,000 miles long, one is clearly for completely open borders and cherish the murder of law enforcement?

Your "they" or "sheep" as you call them, may be looking right at you in the mirror.........

There you go, posting your broad brush strokes that are complete bullshit......Your anti-Trumpmania has turned you into just another babbling media like source of "fake news" and hate filled conjecture.

If we did a forum poll, I'd wager a large majority would be for enforcing laws on the books rather than a continuous wall.

Show me a post where I’ve promoted the wall. I’ve challenged the ideas presented about the reasons why a wall might fail, I’ll give you that.

How’s the view from on high?

Didn’t know what it would take to coax you out, but figured a little left bashing and trump hater talk might just do it.
It’s funny that you view yourself as above the din, when you have zero say so on the matters discussed.
Your boy quit, you removed yourself from the process by voting none of the above, and now you think you have a voice?
Shut the fuck up. You’re irrelevant...at least until you buy someone who doesn’t cash your check and bail.

It’s crude napkin math but here goes-

The fossil fuels were created through carbon capture by plants and diatoms over hundreds of millions of years, and we are reversing that are releasing that carbon back into the atmosphere in the span of centuries.

“70% of oil deposits existing today were formed in the Mesozoic age (252 to 66 million years ago), 20% were formed in the Cenozoic age (65 million years ago), and only 10% were formed in the Paleozoic age (541 to 252 million years ago).”

You can also add in about 60 million years of the Carboniferous period when much of our coal formed. Obviously we haven’t used all of it, but there are some estimates used by peak oil theorists that say we may be approaching the halfway point.

This will never happen, the locations and sources that we get the ingredients and assembly of lithium ion batteries for the all these hybrid and electric cars that make all these political correct assholes think they are making a difference in global warming while at the same time destroying the lands in other countries. But that’s out of sight, out of mind (in thier sheepish feeble minds).

On another note - I was taught in grade school the trees and plants thrive on CO2, the more CO2 the faster the plants grow. So CO2 production is really detrimental to survival on this planet. But now we are told CO2 in any form is bad. But this was way before the political correctness indoctrination of children started in the early in their education.

These lib fucks don’t even know what they want anymore. All their agenda is: Whatever Trump wants we are against, even if it’s for the betterment of this country. Trump cannot succeed.

I could list a whole bunch of formula showing the increase in the suns output, and it’s eventual decline extrapolated out over measurable time but what’s the point?

Invent a new problem so they can tax something that isn't a problem. All in the guise that tax money that's not used for false reason can fix the non issue.

Hey this will probably fall on deaf and dumb ears, but this ain’t even the first time living creatures have modified the Earth’s atmosphere and completely changed the course of life on Earth. 2.5 billion years ago the planet was anaerobic and oxygen was toxic to the only living creatures (bacteria and archaebacteria). Some of those bugs evolved the ability to photosynthesize CO2 and release oxygen as a waste product. As the chemical composition of the atmosphere changed, the living creatures on Earth were also forced to change (those that started the process were basically poisoned out of existence and aerobic oxygen tolerant bacteria evolved in their place) and of course the climate changed too. If bacteria were capable of this change, why is it so hard to believe humans (reversing photosynthesis through combustion) are also able to change the environment?
