Prepping for the run in the Cougar....
Purchased 10 gal of AV Gas 100 LL for the thirsty DBR...hopefully my friend in the red Cougar can act as a spotter.

Weather has been rainy up here lately...
Had to boat , so I pulled out the Cougar for an evening rip session. Launched alone and , despite the slight chop, I tested the big cleaver. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as fast as I hoped for. I’ll take it out again and make a couple changes to see what I can get out of it.
You have to go thru a lot of props to find the right one.

The U2 spy plane has been flying over quite often...I live near Beale Air Force base flight pattern. Stealth bombers, and jets, have been very active in the last 24 hours ..hmmm....”the Russkies” better duck, I think the shits about to hit the fan.

Bully and I will be hitting Lake Oroville this weekend in the DBR, and then I’m headed to his pad Wednesday for Desert Storm in Havasu. It’s going to be serious boating in both places!! I can’t wait to turn him loose in the Cougar...He’s going to be “Rocket Ass” for sure!

The cleaver ain't gonna do it. On the eliminators i've futzed with a drag 4 or an unmolested ET worked the best.

I think you are exactly right...
Next attempt will be a 30 ET 3 blade.
Then a 32 Hoss...
Then a 4 blade Tim Hackney

Details?? Hours? Any goodies?? HP Block??!!
Hey Rev. While were on the subject. What do you thing a 2004 300x with 90 total hours, 7 hours break in on refresh, rebuilt sportmaster with new drive shaft and prop shaft be worth? The motor looks pristine, like show room pristine.

We'll be joining the Church soon. Looking forward to getting to know the new boat. View attachment 634995
Really looking forward to having another running partner, congrats on the new ride.
Yesterday we launched at B&W, went to Rick's house for a party in Discovery Bay, then east to Stockton, a lil backwater rip, then out to Pittsburg where it was flat enough to barefoot. We decided it was WAY too nice of a day so we added more fuel & said ffff it we are going to the Golden Gate. Flat the entire way to San Rafael bridge then some decent chop but not bad at all. Got past Angel Island and it started to get nasty. We could have made it out under the Gate but decided we have all been there before and why beat up the boats. Spun around and came back to B&W, 187 miles of greatness. Perfect weather, fantastic friends and amazing boats. So glad Rev & Bully made it down for this run.

The 300X is a bad ass engine. I use one because a 300xs just wasn’t enough. The X engine is a fuel hog, but it delivers better power. The big X engine is also lighter because they don’t have the compressor pump that the 300xs has. They are special and harder and harder to find. I think your price is fair, considering the exceptional condition.
I’d love to put in on a rack, parked next to MY boat, to INSURE I have NO DOWN TIME!! I was missing my DBR 300X this weekend when I was rolling with the big dogs.
