Both are great boats. Just comes down to personal preference. And fitting the application. Jay in Florida and I prefer the SS. Again we are only pleasure boating with family , rafts, noodles, ice chests, and he has small kids. We don’t race or do poker runs ( I only poach them with the reverend on board ) ( he is boating intercostal / bays in the keys and I’m only on lakes, neither of us are running in the open ocean. Jay does a little but not much ) Not to say a Skater will never be in our collection again. I’ve learned never say never.Thank you very much for your insight and real world testing/driving experiences. I fully agree the Nordic is waaaaayyyy more user friendly in every single pleasure boat use and the Skater is a race boat tamed down for limited pleasure use. Bully, I can't wait to get you up to the SF Bay and Delta sometime so we can run thru some BIG water in a 28 and 30 Skater. Our one buddy with a 28 Nordic up here won't run salt water but in the cruiser waves in the Delta he can't hang with any of the 28 Skater's all powered the same. I'm not trying to pick a fight, just my real world experiences. His 28 Nordic is a gorgeous boat and is perfect for the Delta. Hope to see you soon.
Again BOTH ARE GREAT BOATS. Just very different.
Can’t forget price either, pretty sure a 30 Skater with 400s will cost quite a bit more...from what I’ve seen the east coast tunnels are in the 300k all the way to 400k range.
Apples and oranges at that point.
With all of that said...I can’t wait to see Dale’s boat done....I’m sure it’ll be amazing!!!
