I can only imagine how fast that Argo would go with my DBR on the back....I would expect a solid 10 mph better, maybe more....that would equate to 136 + mph.
I would volunteer my engine for such an opportunity.....Rev
As you probably know, I purchased the boat from Joe A. at DBR. I believe he had a healthy X on it before I got but never actually let me in on what it had run. But I agree, with a real strong X it could be unreal.

Adam,
I was wondering if that was Joe’s old boat!! When Dave and Joe assembled my engine, they put extra hours in the porting and polishing for more power...we got an additional 25 hp more from the intensive detail in the porting. Joe said it was significantly stronger than the X he put on his Daytona for the Enduro in 2011...(and I have video footage of him passing Bob Teague in the 1400 hp GN77 on the front straight...
Where is the Argo now?

I’m going to have to measure them both to be exact, but I know it’s taller than my Cougar, feels wider, too...
Your Mirage is a potato chip...lol !

Alex, have you weighed The Liberator with the V8 installed? Zoom in on your picture, you have 300R on the brain!

I havent weighed the boat with the motor. Randy weighed a couple bare 21 hulls not too long ago and I want to say they were right around 1100lbs. He weighed a wet 300R and it was around 560 lbs. 20G of gas ~ 125lbs. seats, hatch, carpet, steering pump, radio....there cant be more than a few hundred lbs there. The interiors are pretty bare bones as you saw. Id say a fairly conservative number would be in the 2,200lbs....or maybe im way off...lol.

With 4 people (myself and Rob arent exactly small eithero_O) in it yesterday running a 30p Bravo I could squeeze about 86mph out of her. Handled pretty well though.

Uploading some transom cam footage from the afterbay.

Big thanks to the Rev and Wild Bill for the help in making a great running boat better! A lot more work to do but this was a good start. Going in a straight line as fast as possible just isnt all that practical out here in a 21' boat. In a perfect world Id like to really have big acceleration on the bottom while still being able to get to run up around 100 when the conditions allow it.

We were testing 0-1000' times with a few props we had on hand. My 34p Merc cleaver of course was the slowest. A 32P Promax had almost a 2sec better time while still getting up to 90+ with a quickness. I really liked how the promax felt.

My thoughts are how impressive the next round of Outboards are going to be....we knew the technology would come to Outboards...and with that, big power.
This 300R V8 is an exciting ride. The big liter 4.6 liter engine is impressive and it has more to offer than we have extracted.
I am really interested in seeing what we can make of this power plant on this 21’ Tunnel.
Also, the new engines with rumors of 450 HP stock should be pressing the 130-140 mph envelope....
And best of all, Mercury is leading the way.
That said, you KNOW Yamaha and Evinrude won’t sit idle...we as consumers will reap the benefit of the market competition. This is nirvana folks...high performance boating with a warranty. There is no better value and bang for the buck as a new Outboard with a 5 year warranty!!!
The Church correctly predicted the future would be Outboards...welcome to the future.
When these 450 hp beasts get unleashed in June, it will be interesting how many inboard boaters switch to twin Outboards.
The Church will be there, converting all of them.

There are plenty of big block inboard guys trying to unload right now. I continue to LOVE our boat & wish I could afford new 450s.

I'm on my 6th outboard powered boat and second tunnel. That has been over the last 44 years. I keep boats a long time but I think it's time for #7.

What size tunnel are you considering?
Glad to help you find one.

I'll be attending services on 6/22 to get a better idea. Probably 24 to 26 range with a nice pair!

Sure would be nice if E-ticket built the 25' with twins that has been rumored for years

Yikes! I could almost be impersonated!!
He is sporting a full interior...the likes of which were excess weight and were removed. Also, he sports the “out of balance “ side steering.
Center steering makes it ride better...lower CG , the bubble is better when all is balanced!!

The fucker does have my colors and graphics. Lol !!

I have fluorescent “titty tips” ....!!!
