Listened to some Rob Zombie music today….it’s a wall of sound with an aggressive rhythm. Great boat music in rough water. Watch those elbows when you’re slam dancing! Good times!
Google “thunder kiss ‘65 and turn it up.

Waiting for my opportunity to own an elusive Argo, I have made a deal on a Mirage Jaguar sporting a 3.2 DBR 300xs w/ 15” shorty. Ran 110 mph tonight with a small prop. Engine needs to go up, water pressure was over 30 pounds. That said, not bad for its first run.

Badass that should be a ton of fun.
Very good friend here at LOTO is most likely buying a 32' center console with 450s very soon. He's worn out with the big block game......

I bought my '98 Eliminator Daytona 21 back in January of this year. At the time, it was supposed to be a "turn key" boat with ~50hrs since a full rebuild on the engine (225 Promax). https://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/threads/the-outboard-church.163891/page-157#post-5045701

It turned out to be quite the opposite. Since January I have:

  • Completely rebuilt the lower unit (big thanks to @HST4ME for doing the work).
  • Tore down the Promax to the bare block and rebuilt.
  • Tore out and completely redesigned the fuel system (big thanks to @Fonz69 for the swirl tank idea and @HST4ME for an incredibly helpful EFI primer).

The root of most of the issues was in the fuel system (EFI return plumbed into water separator, neither tank was vented, restrictions in fuel path, etc.) which I finally have dialed in. The boat came with a small shaft Hoss Triton 28 which the previous owner told me was good for 74mph. When we went to fat-shaft on the lower unit I sent the prop to Tillmans and had them convert it and clean up/balance it. A few friends who are familiar with these boats told me it should run low 80's once everything is dialed in. I have been running the boat in the mornings some just breaking everything in/shaking it out. I was finally able to open it up in some clear water this morning and saw 90mph! I am beyond thrilled. As much of a pain in the d*ck as this process has been, I now have a much better understanding of the boat and how all of the systems work. Can't wait to finally enjoy this thing and get some more seat time!

Thanks! It's the former, this boat has full stereo, lighting, jump seats, etc. When we opened up the PM we saw it had 35cc heads w/.15 over vertex pistons, some nice port work on the exhaust side, and a few other light upgrades.
ya,seems like it pretty easy to get 250+HP and beyond if you go with slide intake,16 amp electronics and aftermarket ECU with oil injection delete

It needs to be dialed in, but man is this thing fast…hits like a street bike. Faster than I expected….I’ll be testing this beast to figure her out. Able to run 113 tonight and it has more. Once it’s balanced out, this will be a serious weapon.

I wanted to buy that from Joe, he and I went back and forth on it, I just can’t have that many little boats. He was super happy with it, will be fun to see what you do with it!

The 3.2 liter changed everything….it will take some testing to get this to run on a string, but I will get it there. The torque of this engine and this potato chip hull make for an impressive 50-110 midrange acceleration.
