I was going to buy a house but the condo plan is working very well for us. Location is big factor and I wanted to be close to PBC, the best launch "PB2", shopping etc. and on the main channel to see boat traffic. We ended up across from Dog Days and love everything about it. Some of the other areas become a real hike by car-

I understand the condo but no way my wife & I can do a condo. We preferred the area around Captain Rons & higher mile markers. We wouldn't want to be too close to the busy areas & don't mind driving by car or boat.

Hooky Day was incredible....so many hot boats!! Ran 160 miles...what a day!! My Cougar ran great...put a Hydromotive 28.5 on her...ran in excess of 100 mph and got there in a hurry. Bill E in his STV was rolling 120 every time I looked at him. Kevin was carving me up like a Thanksgiving bird with his Jaguar. We had a blast!! Great driving today....water was stupid smooth.

Had a SPECTACULAR weekend. Hookie day Friday, all around the Delta & Nenas in Stockton for lunch on Saturday then drove my boat to Benicia with the 2 Oregon girls. Yesterday we hit Sam's in Tiburon for lunch, under the Golden Gate for pics, then floated in McCovey cove for 90 minutes. Insanely awesome wkend with great friends

Question? Going to look at boat to purchase, has 2007 Merc 300XS with 207 hrs. If well maintained, what is life expectancy in general. I know compression, leak down, air compressor updates. Thanks.

I have 840 hours on a 250xs. Good oil and good fuel is the trick [emoji1303].

Guys have gotten them into the 2,000 hr range with fishing boats off shore.

The 300xs engine is good for many hours....
We won the Parker with an engine with 600 hours on it. It is a good reliable package and in my opinion, 200 hours is still a low hour engine. We ran it at an 88 mph average for 4 hours and got 4.1 mpg.

I truly believe the # of hours is a complete crapshoot. Bought our 2008 with 25 hours on each motor in Oct 2016. Popped 1 last Oct while cruising 4900rpm. I've heard from Boatmasters & several others these XS motors would rather run on the mat than be babied. That's what I've done since.........
Good luck

I am sure Drew preachs to use Mercury Quickleen gas additive to combat the effects of ethanol in the fuel,i would use it at LEAST every third tank.I hear guys use 150/1 ratio premix to help lubricate the air injectors..the cooling sea-strainer for air pump needs kept clean or better yet an Upgraded one like Steve Sherman engineered.Airpumps have been way more reliable then first gens, but still need to be maintained with filter replacements and monitering for internal failures.good idea to have air/fuel injectors cleaned/flowed every 300-400 hours..i am sure lots of peeps never do this PM,but there not the ones getting 2000 hours either 👍

My sister sent me this pic an old neighbor posted on fbook. Growing up my parents owned a waterfront home on a small bay up here in W. Washington. During the summer life was all about boating and water skiing. The neighbor was a few years older and a very good skier, he had friends that skied for Connelly and they brought this bad boy out one day. This is mid 70's and I have no idea what kind of boat this is but that's me riding shotgun at 10-12 years old. 😄 Amazing how an old pic can bring back a flood of memories.

Looks like a Hydrodyne. Good ski boat, excellent slalom wake.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I’m headed on a 1200 mile road trip today. I’ll post pics if it works out.
I pulled the trigger. 24’ Checkmate Pulsare 300xs. Only 200hrs. Graphics are growing on me. Wife loves them so that is all that really matters. :D 1200 mile road trip to home in the morning.

Looking at a new ride for the family....yeah, it ain’t an outboard, but it does what it does really well. In negotiations....we will see.
mid then sell my Daytona, and keep the Cougar. The dark side makes sense very rarely...I believe this boat fits that definition. Has a wake that a pro wakeboard rider or a surfer would die for. Small tunnels should avoid me.

So YOU"RE the one that ended up with that! I was paying attention to it. I know the graphics are loud, but that's kinda my thing...

Torquemaster lower?
The black is gel, graphics air brushed and whole boat is cleared. Shiniest and smoothest boat I’ve ever bought.
