Never raced there but definitely went riding there…

I was an abused child and never had one growing up. Now I have 11 ct70's and 3 50's Don't ask me why. Everyone has a mini trail story.

We had a red CT70 3 speed automatic loved it can remember having to push start it when it was due for a tune up always wanted the gold one.

I started working at a gas station when i was 12 saved my money and bought a brand new Honda XR75 paid $525.00 out the door it was a red one before that they were grey/silver.

I’ve got one of these. My brother gave it to my son when he turned 5. He rode the compression right out of it. This one went for $5,300 on bat.

That RD 400 is sick. My buddy had one and added round water cooled heads to it.
I loved riding that bike.

Yeah, the Ct70 wasn't so small and was a challenge for little guys, I remember throwing my leg over the frame then once i got going I'd get up on the seat and be on my way. I was bummed that I got stuck with the CT70 for so long, I rode that mini bike track at Dunes forever. My Dad really should've got me a YZ80, RM80, CR80, KX80 etc.. I would've done well. But I had my brothers hand me down after the CT 1974 XR70..

I love the thing.. It's much bigger than the CT70. More suspension, bigger wheels and much wider. I can carve the canyons pretty good with the power coming from the fire breathing 124cc EFI monster. The MPG is 106.7, this is awesome. My only real complaint is the Semi auto 4 speed transmission, really wished it was a 5 speed manual, but beggars can't be choosers. Overall it's a total blast for me and has a special place in my heart. I might be able to squeeze out a couple more HP with an aftermarket airbox, exhaust and tune.

@ChumpChange had a couple of these when we were kids.

First time on a motorcycle I rode one into the side of his shed. Chose the shed over the deep end of the pool. Think I still have a scar. Carry on.

I get only one at this price since I'm close friends with the owner of one of the largest dealerships in the country. So, I got the bro deal. Otherwise, I was gonna wait it out. Just not enough inventory right now to justify dealers giving them away.

My first ride was on a classmates CT 70, and I was hooked. Next bike was a Honda XR75, and rode it for two years. All my riding was in urban areas. The loud bikes brought the cops, so you always had to be on the move, or they’d find you.

Im looking at the KTM e bike, to replace my XR75 of childhood years. If they can’t hear you, chances are they’ll think you‘re a bicycle, and if you stay on the move, you’ll get to run those urban trails again.

I had one and loved simply riding it around the neighborhood.
The thing that went wrong with it was the Mickey Rooney carb rotted out. Dealer parts dept was no help. Dumb luck and damned if their wasn't a Mikuni Carb warehouse minutes away in Northridge. They had it.

If it’s all original, the parts are probably what will bring the cash. Especially if you can sort through what you got and can identify the hard to find original parts.

Very cool. I tried to buy a Monkey during covid but mark up's were insane. I bet this is probably the same engine as the grom so maybe you can swap the trans from that over. Grom has been out for ever so parts would be easy to find if it's bolt on.

Bonesfab RD 400 is what I would want. Had one in high school. Bought it new for 820 bucks. That was 1976. Loved that bike. Chambers and down swept handle bars. Don’t see them much anymore.

My first race bike was a tricked out XR-75, bought it from Harbor city Honda, the guys who the place built it for his kid who raced, he was fast and was switching to a Yami, once you got it started (seems like about 30 minutes) it as great, first race on it was escape country, Jeff ward was the kid everyone looked up to then, as he hauled ass on that track.
