Greatest lyrics of all time...
That's awesome, what a killer show to have seen.In 77 cheap trick opened for KISS on the Love Gun Tour.
They were actually better than KISS.
Yeah that one may be the most popular rock song ever.

… Yes I really should get it together with Neighbor girl and start outlining my stories… She knows exactly where to start… Which I never any idea where to startWillie...all kidding aside man, you NEED to sit down with Neighbor Girl and come up with an outline of the life you have lived and the people and times you have known. Get the outline, then have her buy a digital recorder, and then sit down and just tell your stories. You have so damn much history in your head that really should be saved, somehow. My grandmother passsed at 96 in 1993...One of my great regrets in life is not doing the same with her...a damn history book gone...
I am fickle when it comes to music...it is mood driven for me. I love much of what has been shared here, and some others. Lately, I am listening to a lot of Norman Brown, (jazz guitar) The Shadows instrumental guitar guys from the 60s who just took the world by storm, and some early surf guitar...

… No question about it Jeff Beck was one of the most gifted guitarests of all time… add Tal Wickenfeld on bass…A huge plus…I used to play instrumental, so I'm biased. However, coming from a musical family [ my father was a choire singer and violin player, uncle was a lead opera singer in Hungary ] , I do love most genre overall. I have a Revox and Teac reel to reel decks with tons of music recorded from the 60's on. Also have over 500 vinyls as well. Saw Jeff Beck in person at the Commodore in Vancouver, standing 10 feet from Jeff p;aying. Awesome small venue, the way I like it. Have one CD of his and my favourite song, I play every time I'm on a slow cruise on the highways, this is my all time favouritr from him. This song needs to be cranked up to listen to it.
Pink Floyd, PUT ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL or anything by STEVIE RAY VAUGHN one of the best guitar riffs ever is in Put another brick in the wallNow, let me tell you I love a plethora of music ….and I’d never pick

Done.
But I’m listening to Bee Gees tragedy and I think this may me the best song ever.point being….theres no point.
If your going to do greatest dick songs, this has to be considered.
They got pills for that nowThis thread has taken a turn, and not for the better.![]()
Bwaaa haaaaa haaa, that one is classic!
Another good one.
True!
Full Fucking blast...
Intresting topic . . . . noooooo way in hell could I pick just one . . . waaay too many 'good ones' to enjoy.
Somewhat related . . . I came across this the other day and did a little research . . . it was originally written by Stan Jones in 1948 . . . . this version was in 1961 played by Neil Levang (many others have great versions as well) . . .
I don't know how, but IMO it captures the 'western' theme perfectly . . . . def. not the 'greatest song ever' . . . . but it sure is iconic . . . .
This song is way before my time but think its a beautiful song and might be one of the all time great ones.

It may not be the greatest song of all time but it might be the most important. Not many songs on this list would exist without it.

Rush, most of 2112.
I’m a huge fan of early 1900’s country or what some people call “twangy” country. Red river valley by the Deore Bros is one of my absolute favorites. Along with early recording of tumbling tumbleweeds by sons of he pioneerers (although my grandfather always said Roy Rogers was a hack and a fake cowboy lol )Intresting topic . . . . noooooo way in hell could I pick just one . . . waaay too many 'good ones' to enjoy.

Its like watches. Everyone has diffenent Taste Some like classy and others like gay colors with gay straps.Sorry, but while I can't name the greatest song of all time, I do know this is the absolute fucking worst.
Funny I was going to ask who knows how much Robert Johnson influenced zeppelin.
Robert Johnson is great. Old school hard core blues.
I like rush. Don’t love them but like their hits. As I get older I’ve learned to like them more. With that said, I would put Tom Sawyer up in the “greatest of all times” song category. It’s a fuckin banger. And the recording and editing on that track is PERFECT!!! If you have a super high end stereo in your car or home, Tom Sawyer is the perfect test song.
