Back in Black is the Ultimate rock song, maybe not the best but it defines ”rock” and nearly everyone likes it.

My favorite songs and musicians are the ones blackballed by the industry because they wouldn’t cave.

I love the story behind Tech 9 not because I love their music but I love their FU to the industry.

Jamey Johnson is one of my current “favorites”.

Shooter Jennings “Outlaw You” is great

Waylon was one of the greatest. He has so many great covers and unknown songs I have been basking in them lately.

In 77 cheap trick opened for KISS on the Love Gun Tour.

They were actually better than KISS.
That's awesome, what a killer show to have seen.

We saw Cheap Trick open for Foreigner a few years ago. I think Daughtry was part of the show as well.

Outstanding concert. 👍🏼👍🏼

Willie...all kidding aside man, you NEED to sit down with Neighbor Girl and come up with an outline of the life you have lived and the people and times you have known. Get the outline, then have her buy a digital recorder, and then sit down and just tell your stories. You have so damn much history in your head that really should be saved, somehow. My grandmother passsed at 96 in 1993...One of my great regrets in life is not doing the same with her...a damn history book gone...

I am fickle when it comes to music...it is mood driven for me. I love much of what has been shared here, and some others. Lately, I am listening to a lot of Norman Brown, (jazz guitar) The Shadows instrumental guitar guys from the 60s who just took the world by storm, and some early surf guitar...
… Yes I really should get it together with Neighbor girl and start outlining my stories… She knows exactly where to start… Which I never any idea where to start 🤷🏽‍♀️

… Right now I am 400 pages into the 500 page book… “The Family”… with detail after detail of the Manson family and the murders… Scary, scary scary how close I must’ve come to getting hacked up by the Mansoids… Now I’m really wondering why they didn’t come after me at our Malibu house…after I had knocked Charlie across the dance floor and into the bandstand at the Topanga Corrall… or maybe they did come after me and I was just too stupid to realize it… I don’t know🤷🏽‍♀️

… Change of subject here…Yikes😳

… …This song, periodically jumps into the number one position of my all-time favorites…

… Two exceptionally talented singers… Patty Santos and David Laflame👍… Only saw them live once… At the lake Amador something or other festival🤷🏽‍♀️

I used to play instrumental, so I'm biased. However, coming from a musical family [ my father was a choire singer and violin player, uncle was a lead opera singer in Hungary ] , I do love most genre overall. I have a Revox and Teac reel to reel decks with tons of music recorded from the 60's on. Also have over 500 vinyls as well. Saw Jeff Beck in person at the Commodore in Vancouver, standing 10 feet from Jeff p;aying. Awesome small venue, the way I like it. Have one CD of his and my favourite song, I play every time I'm on a slow cruise on the highways, this is my all time favouritr from him. This song needs to be cranked up to listen to it.

Intresting topic . . . . noooooo way in hell could I pick just one . . . waaay too many 'good ones' to enjoy.

Somewhat related . . . I came across this the other day and did a little research . . . it was originally written by Stan Jones in 1948 . . . . this version was in 1961 played by Neil Levang on the Lawrence Welk Show (many others have great versions as well) . . .

I don't know how, but IMO it captures the 'western' theme perfectly . . . . def. not the 'greatest song ever' . . . . but it sure is iconic . . . .

So did Sleepwalk and most of the songs by The Shadows!

Jeff Beck's version is fantastic

It may not be the greatest song of all time but it might be the most important. Not many songs on this list would exist without it.

I agree..

Robert Johnson is known as ``The King of The Delta Blues,'' and ``The Father of Rock 'n Roll.'' Despite his enormous influence, Johnson's musical career lasted barely six years, and he conducted just two recording sessions. He died in 1938, at the age of 27

Cream Crossroads - supergroup consisting of bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker.

Funny I was going to ask who knows how much Robert Johnson influenced zeppelin.
Robert Johnson is great. Old school hard core blues.

Rush, most of 2112.

I like rush. Don’t love them but like their hits. As I get older I’ve learned to like them more. With that said, I would put Tom Sawyer up in the “greatest of all times” song category. It’s a fuckin banger. And the recording and editing on that track is PERFECT!!! If you have a super high end stereo in your car or home, Tom Sawyer is the perfect test song.

I’m a huge fan of early 1900’s country or what some people call “twangy” country. Red river valley by the Deore Bros is one of my absolute favorites. Along with early recording of tumbling tumbleweeds by sons of he pioneerers (although my grandfather always said Roy Rogers was a hack and a fake cowboy lol )
