Shaped up the pillow block backing plate and the beginnings of the strut brace today.
I’ve only done one strut brace like this and it was on Sharp Shooter’s Honcho.
I lost all the pictures of it on a computer crash, so going from memory.
I always had people telling me they liked the design, so why not build another one!

Great shot of George Nordling in Rich Thompson’s(yellow shirt) Distant Thunder.
I used go racing with Rich when I was 13 years old.
Ran valves, changed gears…everything a boat obsessed kid ever want.
Sanger with a Pfaff and Sowins Chevy…

The distant Thunder Boat now belongs to Steve Sequira…I drove it a couple years ago in the Enduro.
Hopefully they get it together for this year!

Taking the lead in Womens Race 4 laps in 1/2 way through leaving the field of 6.

Mens races had up to 14 boats took 2nd behind

World Champion Aussie Wayne Mauer.

Boat is getting paint and new floor.
Gonna be a lot different with a shallow strut and a blown 392 hemi in it!
Hope to get it back for rigging in 8 months or so.

Got a few things done this week.
Preassembled the cav plates just to check fitment and geometry. Still need to make stiffener plate to go under cav pads as well as putting longer shaft arms on. You can see how much sense it would make to add 2 turnbuckles between the 4 inner ones.
On B Boats, I always put the steering shaft flange bearing on the backside of the kickboard
