March house update.....

Things are really moving now. Roof, stucco and rock work is complete as well as all interior paint, flooring ,base, case and doors. Cabinets are supposedly 1.5 weeks out and garage doors should show around that same time.

Walls and concrete are supposed to happen in the next couple days.

Pool has been dug and rebar complete. Shotcrete is scheduled for next week. (no huge rush as i can't complete the pool until walls are up and i have a gate made.

Rumor has it we should be in first of may. I think may 15th is more realistic and my wife is betting on April 23rd mostly because she is beyond ready to get out of this bedroom we have been living in for 10 months and move into her dream house. I was pissed with the delays months ago and will just drink my way through the depression/no house and garage blues....haha

There was one house that had 12ft ceilings in the garage because of the grading, and RV parking (awesome) but no privacy (bad).
We waited a day too long on a place when we moved to Atl. 12’ ceilings in the walkout basement that had a small creek running through it. Was gonna cost an arm/leg to finish but it was insane.

Damn! Did you build, or buy a spec house? That was quick!
This was a spec. With the way custom builds are going, I could not take the chance of a delay. We got in a couple weeks too late to make any real changes. I would have added more outlets in the garage, and a couple other small things that I can do later. We really liked everything they chose, and this one was highly upgraded on a big lot so when we saw it we went for it. This one wasn’t even on our radar and by chance happened to drive by it when we were looking. It checked all the boxes aside from an RV garage and we liked the layout, but there is room for a shop in the back and that was a good trade off for me.

We were looking at building one similar to @Cole Trickle house, but again the timeline and potential pitfalls scared me out of it.

Nice homes. We just arrived at Sand Hollow and it is amazing how much construction there is off the Southern Parkway.

Congrats LOF….

Anyone know when the east virgin river is too deep to run the Barracks trail? From what I can tell it’s around 50cfs?

I liked to go up to Kanab and run it in a few weeks but concerned about the crossing depths.

I ran that trail presidents weekend and we had no issues with the crossings. I imagine there will be even less water now considering the heat but we did have a couple good weeks of snow further north so perhaps the snow melt has changed it since i was there.

I think you will be fine....Beautiful trail

I live in St George. Let me know if anyone wants to grab a beer!

As a PSA you should list the place you can grab a beer! Last time I was over that way all I could find was Zion Brewing and it didn't open until 4:30 (it was lunch time). One sports bar that I didn't get to.... And Silver Reef Brewing, which is where we ended up at noon ish (lol). I was in St George downtown area and I don't consider Chilis/Applebee as a bar that I would go to when looking for a local type bar.

There might be places outside of SG proper?.. Once again I wasn't looking to drive since we were staying right in the downtown area for a 12U softball tourney.

Took my wife over on a Friday around 4pm. Had a really good time super mellow but we left before dark.

What i will say is there is so little action in town any trouble makers that like to drink and party have a lack of options as it gets late. I could see one and only getting a little weird/rough. The brewery is awesome but the vibe changes quote a bit Friday and Saturday nights after say 8pm. Nothing sketch but with very few places in town with young college girls, drinks and a dance floor you are gonna get some characters looking for action.

The hive will bring a more upscale crowd but it feels a little young to me and the parlor is pretty dang cool high end cocktail bar with a rad vibe.

Ages ago, I was shop foreman at Lexus of Glendale. One of my techs named Evan, moved up to St George ages ago. He was one of my best techs. If you need any automotive help, go by and check him out...

I bet we’ve seen each other. These seem to be my go to spots as well.

Agreed. The parlor was pretty cool.
