Not going to blame that crash on the Yamaha. JS7 made a mistake and paid the price. I still believe the bike won't allow him to ride the pace he is capable of in order to run with RV. Tough break, but he definitely pushed it to far. Oh, and he needs to quit running into people. You're not making any fans on and off the track James. Perhaps you and your brother could benefit from a sports physiologist.

I agree with you about blaming Yamaha... I realize it sounded that way in how I typed it.... He definately won't make friends taking as many riders out as he has!! haha

Does anyone know if Joe Gibbs is locked into using Yamaha's next year too???

Exactly. I love JS7, but he's making the mistakes. :grumble: I dont see Millsaps going down every single race. He's been very competitive, just not on JS7s level, talent wise.:)

I love JS7, but he's the one crashing, tearing up his body etc..

I think JGR and Yamaha are fine, and would like to see how a rider like RV, Dungey or even Barcia would ride on a Yamaha. Im sure they would ride very well for wins, they are all very talented.:thumbsup

by far Yamaha has the best bike out there. James just isn't up to riding like his old self this year. Also the injury he had a couple of weeks ago set him back for sure last night.

I agree. The entire Stewart family needs to learn how to pass and not be a douchebag.

The Yamaha might not fit his needs, but it is a state of the art bike and he can win if he had it between the ears where it is needed. Karma is a mutha and stewie got was he deserved for continually running into people.

I think there is almost no difference between the best bike and worst bike. It's not the quality of the bike but the quality of the setup for the individual rider. I know that I would be equally slow on any bike.

JGR is locked in with Yamaha because they are sponsored by Toyota. They can't ride Honda or Suzuki because they are a competing car manufactures and Kawasaki builds large trucks.

I believe Davey is having better luck on the Yamaha because of his size and speed. Whenever James tries to up the pace beyond the bikes capabilities he ends up on the ground. I also think the Pirelli tires have not been quite up to par either. Don't get me wrong, James is his own worst enemy and he's backed himself into a corner the past couple of years. Rumor has it though that he has another brand bike at home that he supposedly is nearly 2 seconds a lap faster on then his current race bike.

Then he should paint it blue and race it

I have heard that rumor too... He personally bought 2 Suzuki's and was lapping faster at his track than he ever has before.... I agree.. paint them blue and ride.... It has to be something between his ears because he has the best engineering team to work with in the paddock. JDR has the capibilities to build anything... he just needs to figure out his end.

Outdoor season should be good.

I agree. Also, I don't think its the bike, I think its JS. I love JS7, but I bet if RV was on a Yamaha, he would still be winning.

Am I the only one that thinks this?.. idk.?..

The most biased comment I've read in a while... LOL The JGR YZ looked really bad at the beginning of the season, but Stewart's last 3 to 4 races it's really come around handling wise. The Kawasaki & Honda are the best bikes out there, those 2 teams are leaps and bounds above the others with Mapping / EFI / Traction Control. That has no bearing with regards to whats sold on the showroom floor. IMO, Yamaha's are the most durable & I prefer the feeling of a RMZ.

No I am with you... I agree!!! RV has a hunger and desire to win and isn't focused on all the other tv shows and crap that JS is....

Myth. All those companies are intorconnected in someway, parts / suppliers, etc. I believe JGR stayed with Yamaha because that's what they've had for a few years & their development is farthest allong with that bike.

JGR was/is making the GYTR stuff for Yamaha.... So they are a bit more than connected....

That's the first I've heard that & haven't seen anything to make me believe it. I know GYTR heads are done @ Cosworth, JGR uses Carillo rods, forks are factory KYB, JGR's shock is outsourced to one of their Nascar suppliers, Stewarts Aluminum tank isn't available through GYTR, most believe JGR's engine is slightly rotated foward (about 2mm) & I don't think that's available through GYTR, both exhausts are made by FMF. There is definitely an allong side development to a degree, but I haven't heard of any GYTR parts being made by JGR.

No JGR makes stuff/designs stuff for the GYTR catalog for the rest of us to buy.. not for JGR to use.....

I haven't seen anything to that affect. If true, it would support my theory that JGR just has allot of time developing the Yamaha & doesn't want to switch. Even if they were making GYTR parts, that's far from saying JGR must race Yamaha's.

Who's the last rider to self destruct like this? Ron Lechien? Stewart has some serious problems, whatever they may be. I don't even think Stewy knows!

I'd go with Bradshaw vs. Stanton. The fans really could have seen some great racing if Lechien wasn't so into drugs, Bailey didn't break his back & JMB didn't pursue road racing.

Hard to say, but JS is closer 26yo now, and not getting any younger. RC didn't race much longer than that age. Race wins are only going to come when your young and fast. RV knows that.

Here's a good article:

http://motocrossactionmag.com/Main/News/WE-RIDE-A-WORKS-GYTR-YAMAHA-YZ450F-ENGINE-KIT-AND-8010.aspx

Notice the comment: "When one of the Support teams (L&M, Star, JGR, etc.) need technical support, it's handled by GYTR". Would be redundant for JGR to go to GYTR if JGR is making the parts in the first place.

I see what you read and I know what you are saying.. I'm just going off of what one of my good friends in the industry has stated for years about JGR and Yamaha's relationship and how they mock up and make the first run of GYTR stuff and then Yamaha mass produce it.... I will text him and find out more.... He works within the Nascar community.. I could be completely off base on this.... Maybe I had a few drinks in me then haha... We'll see!!!!

I think not gelling with the bike has made Stewart a complete headcase. I think the bike has come around, but the damage to his confidence / ability is done. It's really hard to say, I'd bet Reed would be the champ. He was really riding well & his crash came from chasing RV. I'd go with RV a little off, Reed not having to push so hard & would be champ.

I agree. And man, I really feel bad for JS7, because I don't know how many more good years he has left?.. With RV, Dungey, and Barcia coming up.. But RV looks so strong, maybe JS7 can win a race or two, but RVs the champ.

btw, how was the drive from HB to PHX?

Today was about 6, had a 45 minute lay-up at Chiriaco Summit. The Black Knights motorcycle gang was coming back from AZ Bike Week. Watching a bunch of 300 - 400 lb black guys, stumble around their bikes, revving the piss out of them & blasting their radios provided some comedy. Must have been a few hundred there at least. But they have an art of blocking the pumps while they all fuel up, that had a bunch of people pretty pissed off.

Man, thats terrible luck, of all the days? They had to be out there screwing up the fwy and pumps.:grumble: Sucks, sorry to hear that. Ya, most of those guys are just looking to start a fight, most of them are very rude. Glad you got through there ok.:)

No Stewart... But the bigger news, word is he's been dropped from JGR. Allot of people talking about it, but neither party has commented yet. I really want to see him on a Suzuki, he loves the bike but went with the money at JGR. Guess we have to wait another 8 months to see :thumbsdown.

No Shit? Are you serious? Wow, I haven't been following JS7 in the last few weeks?.. Damn, must be true if he's not racing tonight....Unreal... I didn't realize he wasn't racing tonight.

What about the outdoors? Does this mean JS7 isn't racing, again?:grumble:

He does have a broken hand, so tonight wasn't a big suprise. It's no secret JGR is shopping for an outdoor rider (maybe Andrew Short), fuelling the speculation. I wouldn't be suprised if JS & JGR try to give it another go, but would like to see JS at his best & don't think we've seen it since he was on a Kawi.

Ok, thanks for the updates, I hadn't heard any of this. Wow, big news for sure.. Do u know if JS is planning on running the outdoors?.. It doesnt seem like he wants to? Im not sure, but I keep wanting to see JS and RV run together, and I haven't seen it all year, becuz JS is inconsistent indoors..:grumble:

He's said all allong that he will, by my guess is no. I think his status with JGR will come to a head in the next couple weeks & that will probably determine if he's racing.

Thanks guys. Hopefully just enough rain to keep the dust down for the start. I don't think it was enough to make it muddy for the race.

I didn't hear that info on JS either. He needs to get it together, one way or another. Kawi, Suzuki, etc. I wanna see him at his best! :thumbsup

Since JS7 lawyers have been working on getting him out of his contract, I would say he is dropping JGR. Just rumors. At this point I'd have to say its probably a mutual breakup and will benefit both parties. Look for JS7 on a yellow bike soon...again, just rumors. And for those that said its not the bike, it's James...we'll see. ;)

Good info, thanks Tom. Looking forward to see how this plays out in the next few days, weeks, or months?... I definitely didn't see this coming with only a few supercross races left. I can't wait to see what JS decides to do... The bike may have alot to do with it, but he has had numerous mental errors this year, and he really needs to focus and get in shape if he plans are chasing RV for championships.:thumbsup

There's no JS7 bike on display @ the JGR pit this weekend, i'd say he's done there. There's also rumor he's already testing a suzuki in socal this week. Maybe he will ride the nationals on a suzuki, that would be awesome :thumbsup.
