We have two photographers for the event so I’m expecting to be overloaded with pics..

So it's an interesting thing this year.. The last two years I literally spent months moving mountains in terms of promotion for the event. This year we have been focussing on laying the ground work to make this thing much much larger into the future.

Everything from the simple things of setting up an e-mail address for the event, to building a website (which is getting updated almost daily)

To some HUGE NEWS this year (especially for those that can't attend) a website with auction software so people all over the country will be able to participate in various stages of the auction itself. Bidding on silent auction items, and paddle raise etc.. You will be able to see almost in real time how much money is being raised.

A lot of this we are putting the finishing touches on but we will post the links soon!! I think you guys are really going to like it, and we are going to set a new bar (believe me I've seen it) on charity fund raising in terms of boating events.

This year we have 3 times as many vendors, and we already have more boats than last year as well!

That’s funny. Same thing happened with us except it was opposite... I told Robert we needed to keep the bimini down and he said “no, it’s a long ride from needles to the channel and back again…I work on roofs in the summer, I want shade…. He completely forgot about the helicopter photos…I won that battle, but the boat never made it to the regatta anyways

At Vern’s shop addressing a leak in the port drive up in the trim line or some shit. He’ll swap the drives while they’re off as well. Then AJ will do a full service on everything. Fingers crossed it’s done.

Speaking of kids. I am talking to you two “kids” @ChrisV & @JFMFG. LOL Same issue I have not been able to make any progress in our 32 year marriage. Enjoy the ride my friends!!!! It is really not that bad looking back. Just gotta some time call out what is going to happen. I know that I told the wife she could meet me at Pirates for the Hallett regatta because I am going to go with out the Bimini to possibly get a photo. It has worked a couple of times. One day I might be like @240Hallett who says he has too many photos and does not need any more. But for now I am trying to get as many as I can.

I coulda sworn I sent you one? We made them for as many vendors as we could until we get slammed with other graphics like vinyl banners and others stuff etc..

We generally make them for the earlier sign ups. Next year I’m going to try and make them for everyone..

I’ll look through my file tonight and see if you are in it. If not then I’ll call my graphics guy and have him make one. No guarantees though because he is doing some crazy internship thing right now so he has zero free time.

Is your drive making a milkshake? Went through this same thing in 2023 with
Vern. Turns out my lower had a hairline fracture he found after some head scratching that was pushing water in at speed. He had to make a special jig to weld my lower up. Vern is the man though he figured it out!

Hell no! Best not be any milk shake in there. I just spent 17k rebuilding the drives last spring!! lol

I noticed a bit of oil in the bilge and when I inspected closer it was up on the transom notch so thought it was coming off the oil cooler on the back side of the port motor. But then when I pulled it out of storage to take it to havasu I noticed a small line of oil leaking down the bell housing (outside) on the port drive. So I thought I had a leak somewhere up in the gimbal from trim ram or something as well. But it turns out it indeed may be some hydraulic line up in the transom assembly that is getting back pressure and leaking in and out. I don’t know. AJ explained it to me but I didn’t really get it. Vern wanted to take the whole transom assemblies off to put the new seals in but luckily he thinks he may be able to get up in there with only the drives off and change them. Fingers crossed it stops both leaks. I can’t stand any drips!!! lol then swap drives, drive service / engine Service. Good to go.
