The standard Tahoe’s and Yukon’s (non xl / suburbans) didn’t automatically come with 3rd row seating. It was an option. So there’s plenty of Tahoe’s rollin around that needs them. I pull ours out when we go and park at lax for trips! Lol

I had captains chairs in mine. I loved it. Otherwise the kids are always having to climb over the 2nd row to get to the third row.

Actually I’m good. The bench goes for like $300 and the buckets are going for double. I’m golden baby.

I miss the old girl. We sold it a few years ago. Momma now rolls an X5 instead. Didn't need all the space. But it was a great vehicle. We had a 95 prior to that. My painter still drives it. The one below now lives in Scorpion Bay down in Baja.

For a while we had three 4X4's and they all had BFG All Terrains... LOL

I have about 170k miles on my 07 Tahoe LTZ 4x4. It's been an incredible vehicle. Bought it new from Jay Photoglou. She still looks new.

That's what I was meaning. 7 seater with captain chair 2nd row and bench in the 3rd. Our Yukon is 3 benches right now and it's a pain in the ass if there are 3 car seats in there.

I assume its an option on suburban, our 07 escalade xl had power foldin single 2nd row seat so it was easy for the young kids to just push a button to get in the 3rd row. I like the option of carrying 8, 2 kids and 3 couples... I miss the escalade. Currently we have a beater 99 sub, always go to vehicle with friends and kids holds 9 and 42 gals gas all rear seats fold flat for sleeping.

I'm really hoping we will be able to upgrade from our '03 Yukon to a '07 and up suburban or the like (Yukon XL ot Escalade). With having a 3rd baby soon, the Yukon is pretty crammed almost constantly.

For those of you that have a subtub with kids, particularly young ones in car seats, do you think captain chairs for the middle row is the way to go? We're figuring it would be the best way to go with 3 kids in car seats of various sizes.

Our first excursion was 2 benches, and that sucked. We had 5 kids....Down to 4 now that the oldest is gone, current excursion has captains in the 2nd row,and it’s 100x better

That would probably work well.... If all 3 kids weren't in car seats. Can't fold the seats down with them strapped in.

Escalade ESV vs Suburban. Had looked hard at the Escalade ESV Platinum prior to buying a new Suburban Premier. An Escalade Platinum new was very close to 100k. Used ESVs were not common. When located typically they had been rentals. The Premier trim of a new Sub is fairly close to an Escalade. You don't get a suede headliner, DVD screens in the seat backs, camera function in rear view mirror, a 420 HP engine, ride mode selection, cooler in the center console and massaging front seats. There may be a few items I missed. But, we found the Premier trim Sub very acceptable. And it runs well on 87 octane. Escalade owner's manual calls for 96 octane for proper performance of the 420hp.

White doesn't seem very common of a color. :)

Another difficulty trying to find an Escalade ESV. Try to find one that isn't Black. Black - Looks great but not too good for LHC.

That’s why we went with a Denali. Wanted the 6.2 but didn’t see the value in the Escalade, saved $20k buying the Denali and have pretty much every feature of the Escalade without losing the bigger engine.

I've been getting a new one every few years. (Thanks Jay) Originally bought an '04. Then the '07 when the last new body style came out. Then an '09 after the election, as I didn't know whether Obama Motors would discontinue the "gas guzzler" SUVs. Then, before the '09 warranty ran out, got the 2013, and now the new body style 2016.

The best and worst things about the '16 are the same. Mechanically folding 3rd Row Seat is a god-send for a 63 year old, not having to yank the old ones out. But legroom is pretty much non-existent for the last row. But at least with the rear captain chairs, they can stick their feet through the middle. I don't think anyone over 3 1/2 feet tall (or Holy Moly) could sit back there with a 2nd row 2/1 bench.

On board wi-fi, bunches of charge ports, 110v outlet, lane depart, and all the other whiz-bang features are pretty cool. But now I feel like a caveman when I get in my '09 Sierra.

I hear yah. We got our with the adaptive cruise control which automatically slows down when coming up on traffic. I catch myself all the time in my super duty panicking when my truck doesn't start slowing down coming up on traffic.

That's how it starts. Later we will be running into cars when we forget how to drive ourselves.

Went to buy another Suburban but could not get the 6.2 so wound up with this.
The Nordic will be listed on classifieds soon.
